Hi Marie! Thank you for asking! Today we own our inventory. In the beginning we rented some by the room (usually a living room), and we had our own foyers and dining rooms and kitchen accessories. In the beginning we stored our inventory in our own homes, then graduated to a storage facility. We now rent a 2 room storage office with a delivery bay door to make loading and unloading easier! Great advice! Do you guys own your own inventory of furniture and accessories? I’ve seen some stagers with massive warehouses of supplies, while others don’t. What’s your technique?

Hey Terrence! We own all of our own furnishings and accessories at this point. We have a small warehouse space and we had to get creative about storage because we did not want to spend a tremendous amount of money each month on storage space. In the beginning, we rented until we had enough capital to buy our own stuff.

We work with the same company. That said, it's smart to have a backup plan...moving companies are busy these days! You don't want to miss out on a job because the truck isn't available. Have 2-3 you trust and can call on.

I'm new to this in fact so new It's still in the thinking stage I was thinking of starting with apartments and model homes Can you give me some advice on how to get in the door with both of these situations. Also can you recommend a good training and certification course

I would look for new construction. Maybe start with local builders and commercial GC ‘s, who build these types of places. Try to tap into their models and ask them if they are taking bids for staging services. This is an awesome place to start out.

@@laurinkdesign2703 We invoice based on the number of rooms we rent out. In terms of keeping track of our inventory, we don't have a huge number of houses worth of inventory (we have about 10-12 full houses of furnishings) so it's not hard to keep up with it all. Some stagers who have bigger operations use Asset Tiger or other programs of that nature to keep track of everything. That system is a bit too cumbersome for us. It's easier to take lots of pictures to keep track of it all. Does that help?

Hi! Our contract requires payment up front, on or before day of initial installation. Then we invoice every 4 weeks. Hope this helps. :)

This does not make any sense!!! I did not hear any secrets. You Have to count all the time that you invest in that project all together, if you work on that project several hours before the installation you are not making $1000 in that morning, what you are talking about?. Here the whole conversation and secrets revelation are sooo improvised that is quite inefficient. Another thing is, what are you referring to? profiting a thousand dollar or getting a check for a thousand dollar, two very different things. And last but not least, the title suggest $1000 a day, as a $1000 everyday, but as the conversation goes do not seam to be the case of every day, so actually that number does not have any meaning whatsoever. I got a $12800 check the other morning from a staging job, but of course it is not mine to keep the whole value of it, even less suggest that that happen every morning. I am sorry for the naive people that falls for your deceiving title.

Hi Ana- thank you for your response. The purpose of this video is to teach someone how they can make $1000 daily staging if they choose. This can be gross or net, depending on how one conducts their business. And, yes it is totally possible to make $1000+ daily if ones business is set up to do so. It may take time to build up to that. But, with focused efforts and discipline a staging business can be very lucrative. It sounds like you are already staging good for you!

@@RevisionsMentor questions remain the same, and your title is still deceiving, your answer is very generalize and counts for any business for that matter. No secrets there and not magic thousand dollars a day whatsoever. If you go to the stent to claim a thousand dollar daly, no doubt in my mind feasible, you can not exclude to clarify the big capital investment you would need in other to get to there, furniture, art & accessories, lighting, rugs, linens..... and the list goes for ever!!! and that can be builded up over time but never from nothing, storage and mobility are two very big expenses right from the start; and in all honesty, it es very misleading of you to claim that that is and achievable goal dedicating three sweet morning hours. And handling furniture it is not selling Avon. And there is other things as well that cannot escape to be mention. To start, you will need to develop strong selling points to convince people to spend money on a property they are trying to get rid off and educate customers about this; you just not need a little bit of taste and creativity (things that I assume people watching this video believe they already have) to achieve your goal, you have to have a vision to hide the weakest point of the property, move the focus, highlight better features be very resourceful and incredible inventive (even more so if you are in a budget), and always always be aware of the buyer expectation and exceed them, remind that your goal is to sell houses not just to make them look little prettier. And when you are heavily invested to profit those kind of numbers you are also facing big expenses and if the market stays still for a couple month the number can even down quite quickly. By this I do not want to discourage anybody from the business, but we have to be responsible with our claims. This is a fun and exiting business to be in, but certainly it is a very multi-faceted one and you need some guts to sail it thought. Good luck to everybody in you new enterprise!!!!!!
