In this special bonus episode we sit down with Lanny Benoit and Glenn Bombardier. They were kind enough to swing by the STAGR Gear booth at Huntstock Fest and record a couple deer stories, tips, ideas, and more that you can apply to your adventures this coming deer season.
Lanny Benoit needs no introduction, and is cladded as one of, if not the best deer tracker of all time. Taking a jaw dropping amount of 200lb bucks across the northeast and Canada. All while bringing us deer tracking videos, books, and more so the sport of tracking big bucks lives on.
Glenn Bombardier is from Williston, VT and is a recent member of the BWB team. Glenn has taken many impressive bucks from the Adirondacks to Maine, and continues being a big part in educating the next generation of deer trackers. Glenn got into deer tracking after seeing the many impressive bucks hung up on the Benoit's family home in Duxbury. After that, Glenn attended the Benoit's deer school and ended up hunting and taking his first 200lb buck when hunting with Lanny back in the day.
Lanny and Glenn share a special connection that is well worth documenting.
Overall, we get to hear in on Lanny's heaviest Maine buck, Glenn's first 200 pounder, Lanny's heaviest Vermont Buck, Benoit deer school days, Benoit bus days, and the importance of hunting high when you're young and able!
Thanks for tuning in!

I’ve been lucky enough to hunt with Lanny several times, he’s one special individual! Learned a ton from him and I’ve also had incredible results from their school! I wish to catch up with him and Shane again soon, life is busy and time passes fast! Also keep up the great work with your podcasts, great stuff!

Lanny Benoit is the Michael Jordan of tracking big bucks. There’s a lot of great basketball players, but only one Michael Jordan. Same for for Lanny killing big bucks tracking. GOAT

I was listening to your podcast and everything you guys said about the Adirondacks is true as far as you won’t fine the big wide tracks like Maine. The stride a buck has and how wide his stance is are the things you look for in the ADK. I have hunted both in Maine and ADK and fine it a lot harder to hunt big bucks in ADK just because of the lack of access to the big woods. Another thing you guys are saying the a 207lb would be a big buck for ADK wellllll I would disagree. In the pass 3 season a place I hunt a lot has taken a 245-227-201 -208 and I took a 230lb 11 point in 2021 season. I will say if you travel away from this area the buck get to the average size . But it’s just something about this place in ADK that produces big body bucks .
