Stalked By A Hammerhead!!! - Florida Keys
Hit the Gulf Side looking to see what fishies were out and about. Lots of Barracudas and Sharks on the flats. One Permit cruising through, and not one sighting of a Tarpon. Decided to hit the end of the outgoing tide on one of the channels dumping out into the Gulf. Put the chum bag out to attract some Ballyhoo and started catching. After bleeding a Cero Mackeral, a frisky little Hammerhead (8-9') showed up and begged for food for about fifteen minutes before my fishing instincts kicked in and I threw a chunk of the Cero on a hook and put it out. It took a couple of tries but I finally got it. The fight was short as it decided to go to Texas and my 65# braid gave up on the fight. Got some good video so I was happy. No, it wasn't attacking me or aggressive. It was just like a dog begging for table scraps at dinner. Feed me. Feed me.
