Rachel, Thank you for a wonderful selection of ideas. I have followed you for years and am always amazed at your creative stamping. Coming from NSW, Australia
Sorry I wasn’t able to watch the live, but I’m grateful I can watch it recorded. You have offered such a wide variety of border techniques. I’m so glad I was introduced to you through this live event. I like all the ideas for making extra design on my pages. Thanks for sharing.
Rachel, what an informative video you are a truly gifted creator. I am excited to try some of these techniques myself. I am a new sub from Ontario,Canada and will binge watching your other videos. Many thanks.
Thanks Margaret! If I’ve used Archival Ink, I’ll use an Archival Ink Cleaner. (Shown at 33:40 in this video). Or if I’ve used water based inks then I usually just wipe the stamp off with a cloth. Hope that helps!
@@RachelGreig Love it! I do a lot of backgrounds like this, often using her ink sprays, when I'm stuck for ideas to come back to later so your ideas are wonderful 💜 I use a lot of black archive but branching out to colors now too
That was awesome Rachel, thank you so much. ❤ I actually do have a question - with that little distress ink what was the little gizmo that you used for your stamping? and does the little thingy that you took off the gizmo come with the distress ink pad? and is the distress ink archival?
Thanks so much! The tool I was using with the stencil is an Ink Blending Tool. It has a velcro base so the little round foams can attach to it, then you peel them off to switch them out. The foams come with the tool and you can buy extras separately. I usually have a foam for each colour and as they fit nicely underneath the cube ink pads, I like to store them under there. The Distress Inks are not archival, they are a translucent dye which means they can fade over time. Having said that, I still have projects on display in my studio that are over 10 years old using those inks and they look as good as new :) Hope that helps! Here's a link to the blending tool so you can see it: www.darkroomdoor.com/ink-blending-mini-circle-tool
Hi Liz! If your journal is lumpy, then I would recommend using a sturdy mat underneath your page to keep the page flat so the stamps will connect properly to the page. I like to use a small green craft mat or the pink Dylusions cutting mat for this. I show both of these mats at the 08:54 mark in the video :) If it's a new flat journal, or your pages are relatively flat already, then you may not need the craft mat at all. Since my other pages were quite flat in this video, I rarely used the craft mats for the other journal pages. Hope that helps!
@@RachelGreig Thanks 😊. A few weather blips today so video jumped that section! Good to go back and see it. I am enjoying your enthusiastic presentations and the ways you use the stamps, ink pads etc. Also a few glimpses in to some ideas for travel journaling too, which I am interested in 🙏
