Back in the days, before cell phone cameras, I drove my 1980 2WD Toyota across the trestle there at Lester, it was also during the time the rail line had been removed from right of way, only the rails on the bridge were still in place. Them bolts connecting the plates at each rail junction, are hard on tire sidewalls. There were some folks camped on the river below, and they were craning their necks with mouths open at the sight. It was during archery Elk season, and we were looking for a way to get into areas other hunter weren't.
Fun adventure. Gotta love the Pacific northwest. I just want to spread the word and warn people that the Fish and Game dept is patrolling that area. My wife and I received a ticket in the mail from the Dept of Wildlife for operating a ORV on private land. They are using game cameras and with a license plate number they send the registered owner a citation.. The Game warden that wrote the ticket told me "Crossing a waterway in a motor vehicle is a federal violation and mandatory impound of the vehicle." Fish and Game is a federal agency and can do what ever they please. The RCW code 46.09.120 was referenced by the Warden. He said it was not legal to operated an ORV on private land unless you are the owner or with the owner of that land. So apparently that land is privately owned. My guess by the Nature Conservancy.
Thanks for the vid! Outstanding scenery and always looks like fun. I'm in Wisconsin and am jealous since I live on totally FLAT ground. You have to put a survey instrument on the land to see what way the water will run. Like the music coordinated into the scenes too.
