I know this is an old video, but I wanted to let new crafters to know about the experience I had with a non-Stampin' Up! acrylic block set I purchased. It was NOT as thick as the Stampin' Up! blocks and I constantly got my fingernails in the ink! That ink on my fingernails transferred onto my cardstock and ruined sooooo many of my cards! I highly recommend the Stampin' Up! acrylic blocks!
I love your giggle. I love stamps especially photo polymer stamps but I’m so clueless about how to get started and break the white paper so thank you for the helpful video.
that was great, I'm just getting into stamping even though I have been scrapbooking for 11 years now and had inks and some stamps, I've been a little intimidating with stamping and embossing.
I'd really like to know more about the Misty? I thought about buying one, but I'm just not sure about it. Can you help me with that decision? You know, pro and con, and you can tell me how to use it. Please! I'm also a new SU! demonstrator. Of course I'm my only customer right now, but I keep praying! I really appreciate you making these videos for us! I bought that tool you showed from Fiskars? But have no ideal how to use the darn thing! Should I consider the Misty or the Misty Mini? Help! I'm doomed without your help! I know it's long, but I really need your help! Again, Thank YOU! so much for all the videos you share with us. I've learned so much from you!
Think of the Fiskars too as a large, acrylic block. Use your Clear Mount or Photopolymer stamps for that one. As for the Misti Tool, I think you can get away with the mini. There are lots of videos here on youtube. You basically use it the same way. Put your paper on one side, stamps on the other. It really allows you to create multiples of stamped images without having to use a stamp-a-majig! Hope that helps :)
Misty I know this an old video but I actually have a question. I am just starting to realize the Stampin Up blocks are really thick. Like a lot thicker than say what comes with Paper Pumpkin. Is there a plus side to such a thick block? Comfort?
Comfort and it also gives you a handle. I have a couple of thin blocks along with my thicker. I use the thinner ones if I feel like I need more control.
Such a brilliant video series already!! Can I ask please do you always put the ink to the stamp on a hard surface or can you put the stamp to the ink on the hard surface?? For example if theres a sting stamp but I only want 2 of the words can I just put the photopolymer and acrylic block to the stamp?? I go to a craft club once a month and got told off for putting the stamp to the ink pad lol :-) thanks x
Shona Smith I'm not really sure what you are asking. For me, if it's a smaller stamp, I will take the stamp to the ink. If it's a larger stamp, I will take the ink to the stamp. I hope that helps!
Yeah thats just what I as after thanks. I prefer to take the stamp to the ink as I only use small stamps but like I said I got told that waste wrong way and shouldn't do it like that haha. :-)
Can u please name the these tools u used for stamping. I really dont have an idea about these things. I bought some soft stamps but dn know how to use them.
I know this is an older video and I'm coming in late. But, poor Shona should find herself another craft group if she can! To be called out for something as simple as inking her stamp is WRONG! She maybe new, she may have medical issues! Whatever it is they should never said anything to her about inking up her stamps, they should have told her gently or explained why what she did was wrong. I'm sorry, I'll get off my high horse now. Thank you for letting me vent. Did make anymore newbie videos after Paper and cardstock? I haven't found any?
Awww crap...another respected stamper falls prey to the over priced MISTI tool. Now be honest...was this because it has your name? lol Seriously, if this thing wasn't $50 BASE PRICE I might have considered it...but holy cow...$50 for a couple pieces of attached plastic, and by the time you add on the magnets and foam etc etc...who KNOWS how high your price will be? Nope...I'm working on a home made version! Great video nonetheless Misty...good information and quality work (other than the MISTI...sigh) Have a wonderful day and God Bless! (btw...in my sub feed...episode 1 came up AFTER episode 2..hmmmm) lol
Robin Schaefer Hey Robin, I don't feel that the MISTI is overpriced at all. It's definitely sturdy and made from more than just a few pieces of plastic, but you are definitely entitled to your opinion! I know that I am going to get a lot of use out of it and get my money's worth! As for the videos, I scheduled them wrong!
