Such a pretty manicure and excellent tutorial. I have all the tools but have done stamping maybe 5 times in my 60+ years! I have small beds with a strong C-curve and have wide-nailbed envy, LOL!

This video couldn't have come for me at a better time. I won a Maniology Uitimate Nail Care kit and it arrived in the mail today from Hawaii! I've never won anything so amazing and I've never stamped before, so I'm excited but nervous because I'm not super artistic. Thank you for this so much :)

Yes, and choose an image that has tiny features. I’ve definitely learned the hard way on that one! Excited for you to try stamping! Just try not to get frustrated, there is a learning curve, but I promise, you’ll get it! Congrats on the big win! I’m jealous. 😆

I really am going to have to try this. I always use stickers but you cant always get what your looking for. I have got the bits a pieces i need but never had the courage to try. You make it look so easy.

It does get easier the more you do it, but isn’t everything like that? Sometimes I find it easier to stamp than use decals! 😬

@restoredbypolish4591

Try making a decal out of the reverse stamp. Just let it dry completely and then top coat it on the stamper. Then you can just lift it up with tweezers and place it on your nail! 😊

Thanks for sharing this honest stamping video! Coming up with that fix was smart and I actually like the first butterfly best. I've seen shadow stamping somewhere. You stamp over the first image with a different colour and purposely dont line it up perfectly. It's a cool effect. The view out of the window in your intro is beautiful! Take care! ❤
@restoredbypolish4591

Yes I’ve done that kind of stamping. I’ve always called it shadow stamping? I did a cool marble one with the shadow in a metallic polish… someone asked me on IG to do a tutorial on that mani on RU-vid. I need to do that! 😊

Unpopular opinion; I feel like white stamping polish is the worst to remove from the skin, maybe even worse than black! I always find it interesting to see other's method of stamping, I don't use sticky base unless I have a reverse stamping image. I just stamp directly on my nails. I will use a piece of scotch tape to remove from my skin. I also like to color in the reverse stamp first (though not always) and then while it dries I do the rest of the easy stamping. Yes, it doesn't work for me to scrape multiple times too! Every once in a while I'll scrape twice but unless I'm trying to blend multiple colors for a gradient look I just scrape once. I loved the base polish for this mani! So pretty!
@restoredbypolish4591

I’ve used tape and/or my lint roller to remove from my skin too! It just doesn’t always work well for me. 😬. I can vouch for your feeling on the white stamping polish, for sure. It definitely gets everywhere! Do you not use sticky base even if your nails are top coated? My top coat is like Teflon…nothing sticks. 🤣.

I’ve done that before but I get lazy… 😂. Also there have been a couple of times where I messed up my mani reaching for the tape (I typically cut off a few pieces and hang them on the edge of my desk)…or hit the tape on my nail as I’m using it to clean up. 😫

I love what you do here, keepin it real. I have no idea how anyone stamps on camera for a video. I am all-over-the-place when stamping lol, I would need a cameraman haha. You did a great job! And I love that you come up with fixes, coz lets face it, we all need fixes. It took me ages to work out that you can wipe off a mistake with acetone, as long as you topcoated your base mani BUT you can only do that once or you will start to remove the base shade. That's my useful tip anyway. Obviously you can't do this with double-stamping or anything like that.
@restoredbypolish4591

Oh gosh, I’ve tried using remover to just take off the mistaken stamp… never works for me! Maybe you need to do a video on how you do it so I can watch! 😬. I would love to do a “perfect” stamping video, but I feel like every time I stamp, at least one thing goes wrong. 😂

I am so glad I came across your video tonight. I have so many stamping plates, polish, etc. from Maniology and had seriously thought about selling the lot of them lol but you have given me hope that I can do this!! I honestly don’t remember watching any of their videos or lives, that said to use the sticky base on every nail, 🤔 🤔 maybe that’s my problem lol Can I ask where you bought the large bottle of sticky base?
@restoredbypolish4591

My stamping was much improved after using sticky base! I put a link to all the products I used in this video in the description box! Let me know if that does not work. 😊. I think there are three steps that are the hardest with stamping… the scraping, the lifting of the image onto the stamper, and then the transfer to your nail. Sticky base definitely helps with the transfer part. There is definitely a knack to how hard to scrape and how to roll the stamper to lift the image. Those parts just take a little practice. I was very frustrated in the beginning but I promise you’ll get it!

I’m impatient too but I’ve been burned too many times. Actually I can get away without it if it’s before top coat. But typically I do a mani one day and then stamp the next day or day after that. Once there is top coat on, it’s like Teflon! 🤣

I had that same issue when I first started. It’s so frustrating! You just have to keep practicing. There’s a sweet spot for the amount of pressure you use as you’re rolling the stamper. Once you get it though, your muscle memory will kick in and then it’s super easy! 😊
