I’m a newbie. Just subscribed n learning about stamping. You girls are so much fun but I appreciate all that you showed me. Thankfully I have the mounting liners cuz I know I’ll need them. I learned a lot in this video but I definitely have no idea what masking is. Hopefully I’ll find that video soon. It’s been a real pleasure watching two sisters boss each other around LOL. ♥️😊👍

Hello lovely ladies, it's always great to see a new video of yours, well, it's new to me anyway! I love how you used your aprons to keep the pot steady - I remember when one of you, the brunette actually - used a box that you had cut a hole into to keep a big terracotta pot in, so it stayed steady while you painted and then stamped it. Do you remember that? It was when you were making a pot look similar to a piece of Staffordshire pottery. See! I never forget anything you have taught me ❤ Love from Amanda Jones in Australia. P.S. I'm still trying to find the stamp you used in that video, it's the one with the beautiful roses on it!

I have an idea for you. How about a transfer that duplicates a measuring tape that we can burnish on our crafting tables! I’ve screwed down a yardstick to my sewing cutting table and taped a soft tape to my sewing machine pull out shelf. It would save always having to pull out the rulers to measure anything! What do you think?

Hi Ladies! Thank you for this awesome tutorial. Can I use chalk paint instead of ink on the stamps? If so, would I need to do anything different? Thanks. 💐

Yes, you can definitely use paint on the stamps. You'd want to get an IOD brayer (which is a special roller) from your local stockist. Pour a bit of paint on a paper plate and then load up the brayer with paint. Roll the paint onto the stamp and make away!

I put an IOD mold on either side of my pots to hold them still and it works really well. I love those stamps! ❤️

ty so much for is video! truth I've felt kind of intimidated about buying stamps. Each time I've been at DIYAGoGo I want to get one, and I chicken out because I feel I'm not going to be any good at it. But this seems doable, and so much fun!! Surface pucker means bulgy right? And here's the dumbest question :( so if I want to do like 5 different colors of ink, I have to buy the 5 stamp pads, and how long will they last? Ty !! Love you ladies!

Oh, I totally resonate with the feeling of chickening out and not trying something new! You can DO it!!! We recommend just giving it a try and having fun with it ❤️ A great place to ask questions about tips and techniques, if we don't fully cover it in our videos is our IOD creative tribe Facebook group. Often group members will get comments on a post with advice or encouragement within a few minutes! facebook.com/groups/IODcreativetribe . I would love to get my hot little hands on some of your stamps! I would also love some other styles to choose from because although I love old-world style (including occasional Victorian), I like having style options such as: Asian, mid-century (not necessary Sputnik designs), neoclassical, Art Nuevo, Art Deco, boho, zen, French, shabby, coastal, Hollywood Regency, industrial, some modern, etc). Hoping to see you offer some of those eventually! :-)

Hello sisters. I love all your products. I have a question.. After you stamp on a smooth ceramic surface (I’m stamping on a creamer) I know the ink is permanent, but how do you seal the ink so it doesn’t come off when you wipe it or hand wash it? Thank you

I really love you guys. Best laugh I have had in a while. Don’t forget besides the spam the dreaded deviled ham. My kids don’t know what a canned vegetable is let alone if I had ever tried to feed them that or corned beef in a can,lol. Great tips, demos. ThanksS❤️💞❤️💞❤️💞❣️

I chalk painted some coasters and then stamped. No matter how heavy or little ink I put on stamps, and not shifting, they bled. I also seasoned them. What am I doing wrong?

That might help to keep it from rolling but the best strategy is to bolster the piece to make sure it doesn't get away from you while stamping. :)

Hi Jodi! It really all depends on the surface that you are stamping and what you're using it for. If you are stamping on wood or furniture then yes, you will want to seal it with a water based wood sealer 😊

Have you ever tried Staz On ink. It's alcohol based , permanent and great for non pourous things, tiles, glass, ceramic, gourds, etc. I love this stuff. Love your products.

Ladies, I have to tell you that NOT ONLY I am the proud owner of this IOD set of stamps, but I ALSO have a collection of original Victorian pots that bear these or similar stamps. I have been collecting them here in England over the years. This video is soooo helpful...!I shall now be able to make countless Christmas presents, i,e. pots of marmalade, potted shrimps etc etc... The sky is the limit with IOD moulds/stamps! THANK YOU! 💐🙏💐

I love I love your jobs girls !! ... I'm excited to start using transfers. But I have a doubt, I usually seal my furniture when finishing them with lacquers, I use the Flat High Performance of the General finish line and the Rust-oleum line, my question is if I can use it in the transfer? Yes - we love General finishes’ products! Be sure to seal your chalk painted piece before applying the transfer for increased adhesion. You are welcome to seal afterward as well if you choose. 😄

I got the cubanelo tile stamp and it catches the color between the stamp it is hard to not get the paint in middle flat part of the image even with a little paint on the breier it was frustrating to wipe it off every time, any tips how to prevent it,? I had very little paint on !

I cut my stamps off keeping the backing on and have been keeps them in large baggies. One of my stamps got gooey and distorted. Is there a way to store the stamps when they are loose to prevent that in the future?

I do have a question - I didn’t notice you sending the stamp. A lot of people I’ve been watching are saying to sand them - yay or nay? Or preference?

You want to scuff the stamp with a 220 grit sand paper before the first time you use them. That gives some 'tooth' for the medium (ink, paint, etc) to grab onto. You only need to do the sanding the very first time - after that your stamp is considered "conditioned".
