One of the reasons I love this movie is for the soundtrack. I have never been to california but I get this cool feeling I wish I was there in the 80's when I see this movie.

It is a bad ass place for the scenery. The people are the only shit in this city. I live 10 minutes from where most of these races were filmed and used to street race my old vette on the same track where minty's race was shot. The tracks and views get even more killer further up Mt. Lemmon beyond windy point than where they're shot. Thousands of feet above sea level with barely enough track for passes and hundred foot dead drops with nothing but jagged rocks. Best downhill at dark, lights off ;)

I go across the street and go on to a Zellers store and there was half a rack of them in the bulk movie section lol bought it, and went back to the store and showed them it . They laughed

Yes on Catalina Hwy going up to Mt. Lemmon, AZ. The Movie Has some scenes of the Sky Islands in it. I lived here in Tucson when it was filmed...lol although I was just a kid. Plus they played the movie no stop locally back in the day , Now I know why...lol They must of been representing! =D Oh by the way its pronounced TOO-son! Not Tuscan Also the Aircraft bone yard was called AMARC for: Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center. Now it is called AMARG next to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
