Culture Chat Podcast with Mimi Chan
I had the honor of interviewing the legendary Stan Sakai. For those of you who are not falling out of your chair, this means you don’t read comics. For those of you who do, know that he is the creator of Usagi Yojimbo. Usagi is a beloved samurai rabbit who is celebrating his 35thanniversary this year! I am a huge fan of Stan’s work and an avid reader of Usagi. If you love samurai stories, feudal Japan, or ninjas - this comic is for you! It was great learning more about the history of Japan and talking to Stan about his creative process.

Doing my first read through of Usagi Yojimbo now and it is amazing. Why didn't I check this out sooner

Stan Sakai is one of my favorite artists. I first discovered Usagi Yojimbo at my local library, when I was about 7 or 8. It's what really got me into comics and sparked my interest in storytelling. To this day, my art style can be directly traced back to Stan's work. Thank you, Stan! You've really made my life better.

I discovered usagi through the original ninja turtles cartoon. I even had the usagi action figure
