I like to think of it this way. Most of the time, bullies grow out of physical violence, and either become better or move onto emotional violence since it's weirdly less tolerated in the adult world. But this man, he clearly has a professional life, he's neat, trim, he folds up his uniform and brought his own theme song just for the sole purpose of beating the ever loving shit out of Stan because he loves it so God damn much.
"Why do you care how I get those oranges up the stairs? I can pay someone to do it for me" Never thought I'd say this, but Steve was flat out terrifying when he said that. Dude should be a mob boss
@@TGOArchive I agree. I actually hated this episode, the whole point was for Steve to stand up and defend himself. Stan could have done that a better way but at the end of the day, he was right.
"You DO know that they're just going to put this recording in a boombox and use it to kick my ass...?" "Hey, you could have just done things MY way-- but NOOOOO!"
Also hey guys I tell my friends this all the time. I know Stan is a CIA agent but weren’t there a few moments where Stan was just about as dumb as Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin.
@@jamarkusholcomb516 True, but then again, it’s a comedy. One of the easiest ways to make someone laugh is by making characters stupid. Also, I don’t know if anyone brought this up, but I think Stelio might actually be a Hitman.
Yes, a grown man is bullying his own son, but somehow Steve is the coward for hiring another grown man to beat up his dad. Such wisdom to be found in RU-vid comments.
i know people love kantos in this but people always fail to mention that this and later episodes are proof of how smart and sort of mob/evil gang boss like steve really is... he rarely uses violence like stan but often uses evil brains to outsmart those that bother him... you see thats why hes my idol
What is Stan waiting for? His childhood bully was right in front of him, this would've been a good opportunity to finally get his revenge. And he STILL gets his ass kicked as an adult.
@@joshuaoh761 to teach his Son a lesson about standing up for himself. Have you never heard of "parents wanting better for their children than what they had?" Yeah, that's the case here. Stan's intent was to teach his son that you have to stand up for yourself, because if you don't, no one else will.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 incredible. Ive said for a long time american dad was better than family guy. Nothing against family guy, just shoutouts to how fucking amazing american dad is.
@@katonnor Last time I promise to my heart. I tell my friends this all the time I know Stan is a CIA agent but weren’t there a few moments where Stan was just about as dumb as Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin.
@@AmateurStorytime But if he wasn’t paid, he more than likely would’ve not done it. Maybe he enjoys it some degree still, but not enough that would warrant going out of his way to do it simply for fun.
Last time I’m going to say this. I know Stan is a CIA agent but weren’t there a few moments where Stan was just about as dumb as Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin.
I love this, it not only is a hilarious episode but it has no intention of glorifying bullies. Stelio got paid to do this and stan still couldn't confront his bully. Having a bully doesn't make you stronger it's just a shitty thing to do.
Facts. The people that unironically promote bullying by saying shit like “it builds character” are just dumb. It leads to childhood trauma and unresolved issues when you grow later in life. Whoever had the idea that horrible treatment is a good thing for children needs to have their head checked.
Love how stellio is just acting like this is a typical tuesday, just fighting a grown ass man in a high-school then just goes back to work after like nothing happened
Stan somewhat had a point when he said sometimes you have to stand up for yourself and face a challenge head on... He lost that point when he said Stelio moved
Not necessarily. Stelio IS him facing the challenge head on. There's no way in any universe he could hurt his dad in a way that wasn't lethal, thus stelio.
Mad respect for Stelio Kontos, unlike Stan he doesn’t use words to assert his dominance. All the while being calm and collective. A true professional bully!
Stan has training he could've easily beaten up stelios he never even tried to fight back he just kept complaining that it doesn't count cause Steve wasn't doing it himself
Steve actually has a point, not everyone can do those type of things , getting help is something you shouldn’t be embarrassed of, no one can do everything
True but there’s a thing called perseverance and promoting weakness, Steve will get too accustomed to the reliance of others to the point he won’t be able to do anything himself Eventually he will face a dire situation where nobody will help him
thats the laziest excuse ever you could do everything if you try and are very determined and for a man this is much easier if its a physical thing so stan was right
sherwin damian Stan beat the crap out his own son to encourage him to fight, Francine tried to do it the right way by simply teaching him to fight but she couldn’t , how is it that Stan is right? Yeah, Steve was too coward to learn to fight back but he was smart enough to find another solution. Stan was clearly outmatched but he wasn’t smart enough to offer more cash if he stopped fighting or to use his environment like Stelio did.
People may argue why Stan didn't fight back, but remember this is Stan's former bully the one person he could never stand up to, Stan is basically stuck in a state of fear.
i love the symbolism and meanings in this video. Stan is a coward despite putting on a tough bravado act, bullying his own son (someone who is physically weaker than him) while also lecturing him about dealing with bullies but at the same time never having dealt with his own bully. i can understand stan's intention of wanting to make steve tougher, but his way is definitely not the right way if anything steve is the bigger man, not giving into his assaulter and solving the problem his own way.
@@jaohonaxaNo. He genuinely wanted Steve to stand up for himself. That's why he was constantly telling him to do it and was disappointed when he didn't.
@@vetarlittorf1807 even if he did want that it doesn’t change the fact that he was clearly enjoying playing the part of the bully. If all he wanted was to teach Steve a lesson there were less “assault-y” ways he could have done it.
Stan is not a coward though. There are many times when he's willing to risk his life to save his family, like in that episode where Francine was selling muffins at a mall. He also was willing to throw his promotion away by beating the crap out of his boss because he insulted Hayley. Stan is a lot of things. He's chauvinistic, he's paranoid, he's arrogant, he's controlling and he has a tendency to overthink everything. But he's not a coward. The reason he didn't fight back against Stelio is because he was reliving all the trauma he received from him.
@@Errorvirus404 Not the point, but good job steering the conversation into territory where I have no choice but to agree with you or look like an arsehole. You should notice if you reread my one sentence of plain language that I at no point defended Stan’s methods, merely the idea that parents are allowed to impose expectations upon their children that do not coincide with their own behaviour. You would not say “you’re one to talk” about an addict who tells their child drugs are bad, because what they are saying is for the good of the child. So too here. Stan telling Steve he must face his own challenges and stand up for himself despite not having done so himself is acceptable because it is with the intent of turning Steve into a better man than himself.
@@codieomeallain6635 True, but Stelio's bullying is what made him into the man he is, the one who bullies his own son. He goes on about how you're forced to confront your bully, which I agree with, ignoring a bully only gets you so far, and when they realize they're not getting a reaction out of you, they'll stop bullying you and find someone else to bully. My point was that he's being a hypocrite. I understand your point about parents wanting their children to grow up to be better people than they are, but parents also should lead by example IMO. That was my point, that Stan can't lead by example because he never confronted Stelio, which makes his insistence that Steve should confront him and beat him up moot because he never did it himself. An example with your addict example. If an addict tells their child drugs are bad, the child might not believe them because their parent is an addict. Parenting, the world's worst job that you don't get paid for and can never quit without making a bigger mess
@@metalmario1231 "Misguided" doesn't even come close. He expected Steve, a fourteen year old boy, to fight his forty-two year old dad, a fight no kid his age could possibly win.
@@quinnfletcher3906 You confront them about it, and forgive them. And if need be, give them mature consequences; remove them from your life. What they do (doing it again) has no bearing on what you do. Do to others what you would have them do to you.
People try to explain away why Stan loses to Stelio despite his CIA training. But the guy doesn't blink. He doesn't talk and he's obviously cold blooded. Probably a psychopath but at least a crazy guy that has more muscle then Stan while being taller.
I'm here to enjoy Stan get beat up, because whenever I feel angry from all of Stan abusing his family and the people around him, I came here to watch him getting his face punch
The fact that Stelio used his break time at Kinkos to beat the living crap out of Stan is hilarious. That theme makes me laugh so hard and it’s catchy as hell. I was watching this episode on Hulu with my niece and we were cracking up and after it was over we were singing the Stelio Kontos song. American Dad in my opinion is funnier than Family Guy I just like the characters better. The only characters on Family Guy that I really find funny are Peter Stewie and Quagmire. On American Dad there’s Steve, Roger, Stan, Principal Lewis and even Klaus and Francine have their moments.
Damn Stelio brought his own boss music. A true boss The people in the background actually act like NPCs by clapping and looking cheering while the facial expressions are neutral
I think he just physically overpowered him . I mean look at how easy Stelio throws him on the carousel at 3:35 . It looked like he was throwing a pillow but not an adult person . Sometimes fighting abilities can’t confront pure strength if the difference is way too considerable .
@Ultimate Sora That's the unrealistic part. This scene is more realistic. To get sucker punched really hard by someone physically stronger, it's more likely to take you out of the fight than it is for someone (trained or not) to survive an ambush by multiple people
This is just pure Karma. Stan being so delusional by his own standards he thinks stelio moving away “counts” and bullying Steve would make him stronger. Only to be reminded steve can solve his problems his own way and that he got beat up by Stelio forcing Stan to meet his own standard of being tough.
True but Steve is also wrong as well. He got someone else to deal with his problem for him, and we see in a later season when he does this again it backfires on him hard. The point was to stand up for yourself. The execution was just poor
@@DJPrimeAmvs Fair enough but I see the episode your talking about (I think) roger just screwing with Steve just because he wanted actual help with his bully and not just roger wanting to cause trouble with one of his personas. And again Stan was forced to confront his own delusion about being a bully especially when “standing up for yourself” does nothing really
