Love the way Van Gundy handled himself, and how he said the only thing that makes him uncomfortable i sbullshit and denying reports and trying to lie about it. Then Dwight walks in with that shit-eating grinning and tries to bullshit the reporters. Great contrast and shows why many of us don't like Dwight
what makes me laugh the most is that Dwight obviously was well aware of the situation and what the conversation between stan and media was but walked over acting like they were all cool and he was calm and collected. but he didn’t have any idea that Stan started off saying he heard dwight wanted him fired so when he got asked Dwight gets all defensive and starts getting frustrated cause he 1. knew it was true and 2. his plan to walk up and act calm cool and collected backfired in his face
3:10 you talk to him now...ALRIGHT. Greatest PR move of all time right here. That and where he walks in returns to "we gotta stop Carmelo Anthony tonight, thats the plan".
Stan: "I hate bullshit, I hate evasive answers that go nowhere. Oh hey Dwight, your turn." Dwight: Proceeds to bullshit and give evasive answers that go nowhere.
@@gg_v2 Howard said that at one point he was getting diabetic due to all the sugar he was regularly consuming and this was causing tingling in his hands and he couldn't even catch the ball anymore.
Dwight was a beast in Orlando. Confident, powerful, and dominant. It all got to him and injuries finished him off, with his lack of refinement in his game becoming apparent. A Hall of famer but not an all time great player. Massive what if
Career double double. How many can you name? Dpoy, made all nba. Without checking I'm sure he on a small list of guys that recorded multiple 20 20 games. It's just hate when ppl say he not a all time great. Dwight was very skilled and just a all around freak athlete.
2:52 "Jameer". Look at me im about to try and punk our coach. Like what a sorry excuse for a human-being Dwight is. Hope he never finds greatness. I love how SVG then punks him by letting the reporters interview him next. Like wtf you gonna say Dwight?
@MrBrenman21 Why so aggressive, dumbass? It's ridiculous to call someone a "sorry excuse for a human-being" just because he wanted his coach fired. And Van Gundy didn't "punk" anybody; he ran away like a coward once Dwight showed up.
Actually, Orlando was a playoff team when SVG walked in taking over in Orlando. That was the summer of Donovan & Meyer announcing their pact to stay with UF. The Magic also made the playoffs and were eliminated. To be honest, I think Donovan was afraid to inherit HS talent that could be NBA Finals level talent, rather than a good team that he could coach at a collegiate level.
I wouldn’t call a team that in the prior four seasons before he began made the playoffs once the season before where they were swept in the first round as if that says much if anything.
Damn!!! Kinda makes me a little sad watching this. We had freakin Jameer nelson, Dwight Howard, Rafer Alston, Courtney lee, J.J Reddick, Hedo, Vince Carter, Ryan Anderson, Marcin Gortat. It sucks that everyone is long gone and has moved on now. I miss the Magic from 2008-2011. Those were really exciting times as a Magic fan. Heading towards 2012 that's when everything got weird. The franchise hasn't been the same since. :(
Dwight let everybody down. Did you see how old derek fisher swiped/stole the ball from a prime howard in the post multiple times in finals? Thats not suppose to happen.
Anybody remember right after Dwight was drafted & he said "I'm gonna bring Christianity to the Magic locker room. :)" (The smiley face has to be imagined, of course, because it was reported in news media, but even at 18 he was full of BS.) I knew then and there he wasn't gonna achieve greatness. He almost proved me wrong for a *split* second in the East, but then people started stripping the bball from him in the post and it was a WRAP.
Very sad day for Orlando I’m not even from there but I’ve been a fan ever since his rise and dominance and hey we’ve made to the playoffs the last two years with this young team. Atta boys!
As a die hard Lakers fan I was fooled into believing he was going to be our Savior. That he was going to partner up with a HOF player and stay the course. Boy was I fooled and we should have traded him by the trade deadline.
trade for what? For another expiring contract? Smart teams wouldn't give up anything for a few months rental if they can get him without give anything in the free agency like Houston did that following summer.
Hahahahaha all these people backing dwight now he admits he told management to fire stan how could yall believe this bullshit look at his face he got caught siiiiiiiiiiiick and im glad stan jetted he dont want chill with this guy who just tried to get him fired!!! Ima root for detroit now and dwight lookin like half the player he was
Traded, Left, Banished, Exiled whatever; it doesn't matter. Since Dwight expressed that he wanted to be traded, Orlando management didn't have a choice. If they kept him, Dwight would play as if he was on the opponent's team, he wouldn't give a damn.
I'm on Stan's side...and Dwight called Jameer to look over at him with his arm around Stan...as if Dwight told Jameer what he requested and it was SUPPOSE to be a inside joke of him holdin Stan...
Steve Stevensteverson I didn't say he fooled anyone, or myself. But his lack of any real twitchiness, you can tell, this is a guy who has said, on many an occasion, "It wasn't me...who you gonna believe, baby, me, or your lying eyes?" That goes to character, my point. But I don't want you to think I don't appreciate your point and wit. PEACE
against the Knicks on April 5 2012, dwight put up a staggering 8 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 5 turnovers, 5 fouls in 39 minutes and lost the game 96-80
Dwight Howard became a joke. Dude had an insane trajectory and he just crashed and burned. Played for half the nba and now he’s a 6th man. Still a hall of fame player, but nowhere near what he should have been
yeah we definitely liked him, as a magic fan. my dad and I went to a game during the controversy and made a sign saying "dwight: keep stan- fire free throw instructor". dwight saw it. But as you may know the entire magic franchise fell apart and here we are now- after many failed attempts at rebuilding.
Dwight gave Orlando seven great yrs of play so stop crying. Blame SVG for sitting rafer alston and bringing back nelson in that finals against lakers. Everybody said it was a bad move. And svg got replaced in miami so pat could get them boys that Ship. Magic johnson got his lakers coach fired turned around got riley and started winning ships.
Devane Sumter but im sure magic didnt deny that he wanted his coach fired like dwights bitch ass was doing and smiling in his face like everything was good
757bigj magic went to the gm to handle firing the coach, also media was not the same.as it is now. Magic did that nowadays the media would be all in his grill asking him about it.
