A video shoot of a CD7 accord cut short by brake failure.

We shot for about 15 minutes before the crash. The footage I took wasn't great but I wanted to throw together a short video. The brake pedal went to the floor and the e-brake was pulled too late. The accident happened at a stop light about 10 seconds after I stopped filming the rolling footage. Due to Jazz's car being so slammed, his car took the brunt of the hit while the other car had virtually no damage. It is repairable.

In my eyes I see lowering honda's or any car in general and adding parts, and coming up with your own ideas to make people take a second look at your car as a ART! TheLucksta1 LOL! A Honda is not different and I guarantee more people have Honda's than Mustangs. I have nothing wrong with lowering cars. I drive a WRX with a full air suspension setup. I can lay frame as well as get over the steepest speed bumps. My car is more stanced than this Honda will ever be and it is practical. There is a right and wrong way to do things and this guy did it the wrong way.

Agreed. Accords are looked down upon because they were marketed as comfortable 4-door car. They dominate in motor-sport though. Some of the legends in racing history are Accords like the Castrol Accord from JTCC

Exactly. Stance guys are just as bad as the horsepower guys. Usually around where I live, it's Mustangs and other domestics that show up to shows and meets, rev their cars and get us kicked out. Stance definitely doesn't run the scene. It is a good way of keeping me out of trouble on the streets though. Keeps me racing on the track, not on public roads. Not to mention I love the way a lowered car looks. Keeps it clean man. I'm glad you own an older civic that isn't riced like most.

Exactly. It's pretty stupid to fuck with a car's factory suspension set up. Perhaps adding slightly stiffer struts and a mild lowering at most will help with things like body roll without putting extra stress on suspension components. Look at BMWs, they don't sit very low but their suspensions are so well made they handle wonderfully.

To a certain degree it helps with handling, drifting in particular. Helps to squeeze huge ass wheels under the car as well.

To each their own - I don't mind. If everyone had the same type of car then I would get bored easily! Some people are into hydraulics on their pickups and adding 28's on Impala's while others prefer a hellaflush stance, and you'll always have those who are soley speed freaks and are all about function over form.

Was it totaled? If so I feel for your loss. I dont understand the whole stanced thing or the extreme lowered thing. But I respect you guys enjoy it and keep your rides clean. And I'm sorry to break the news to you, but the word "race car" doesn't involve ANY factory car. A real track car is a KTM Crossbow or a Caterham. THOSE are purpose built cars. On a track, even your most reliable Honda won't last. It ruins the motor and the trans,and that's why I only do it once or twice a year.

That's what you both see...? I see a vehicle that has almost lost its entire drivability and purpose. Vehicles are suppose to make getting around distances and carrying people/objects easier. Not to mention doing its duties as efficient as possible, this one can barely haul itself around. Like I said, rice! You'd enhance a vehicle to make it better not worst...

And my honda is easy to drive. the lowering kit makes it even better to drive. I really don't see what you are talking about. so true.. cars bumpers are made for a reason... lowering the car bypass's a major safety function... the car is more vulnerable then it is already.. these cars are tin cans in regular accidents anyway.. i totaled one with my 93 Explorer and one with a 94 Taurus i had.. i drove home with scratches to my car and trucks bumpers

Negative camber aides handling because the car will create positive camber on the outside wheels during cornering. You can't compare a race car or even a car that see's real track time to some hellaflush Accord that can't take turns properly while below the speed limit. As far as rubbing, properly setup cars don't. You've basically agreed with me in the last line of your post. Camber has it place, more so in high performance applications than trying to fit wheels that have no place on the car.

When it comes to real race cars, suspension is just as important as motor work. Suspension tuning makes all the difference when racing. I will say though that any Hellaflush car I've seen would be useless on a track. But a little stretch on the tires never hurt anyone. To each their own as they say.
