Reminds of when admittedly hack "comic" Carlos Mencia was on the O&A show which you can see on RU-vid. As much as I loathe a lousy guest sometimes such as him or a (Christ forbid) mega prick such as Gene Simmons, sometimes they're disgustingly right in their interviews. Carlos was right halfway through his when the callers started being little Aspies about bullshit such as "Joe Rogan's comments about bondo apes" or the fuck ever. Mencia set 'em straight about them to "stop taking the supposed stealing bits oh so fuckin' seriously" and that they "needed to get a life". If you heard the callers from that day's show, as much as I'll admit Mencia is far too safe & a joke thief, he was right: They needed to calm it the fuck down & to get out of their houses more.
Anthony and Opie fell apart the day Patrice died, he was the one that kept Anthony in order and balanced out Opie's passive aggressive shit by being direct.
Opie is just jealous because he knows his career is coming to an end and Jimmy is still on fire right now. When they do split, and they will, Opie is done. No one is listening to O&J for Opie, hate to say it.
How many people have to loose it with Opie until he figures out that he is the problem? The fact that Jimmy doesn't get equal pay for saving and carrying the show is ridiculous. My favorite "I can't admit to myself that I'm useless" moment in that argument was Opie talking about how Jimmy and Ant would be riffing and he didn't fit in so the show went in a different direction. Yet every guest would go back and forth with Jim and Ant just fine.
First call I think Jimmy says what he wanted to say to Opie. Opie's getting paid way more than him for way less work. Jimmy should be getting paid a ridiculous amount more, he knows it, that's gonna build up serious resentment.
Ugh the second caller, woah, the whole parent angle so it’s not funny and then in the same breath say that racist humor is okay because he’s black. It must be hard to have such a schizophrenic line of reasoning
Damnit. I was thinking, "hey I'm a father and enjoy Uncle Paul," but then the caller said "most fathers, there are some creepy guys in West Virginia that might get off on it" and I'm from West Virginia...
+N MC I agree, Opie and Jim can be kind of boring sometimes, but I just can't even listen to Ant's show. I think both of them only live up to their full potential when they work together, or at least have partners of some kind. What makes Opie good isn't really the stories he tells or the jokes he makes, it's the radio environment he's capable of creating, and when he's in the right mental space and with the right people, it's hilarious and unique. I know it's so unlikely but I still hope someday that the three of them all come together again for a new show. I think Opie and Jim might have to break up for a while first before that can happen.

Opie - We had a PD whose wife made us censor Lightning Crashes because she didn't like the part about placenta dropping on the floor! When you let your wife dictate what happens at your station, you're not a man!!! Who the fawk does that?! Let their wife control are show!!!! Also Opie - Yeah, um, Travis? Could you remove Uncle Paul from the replays? He makes my in-laws uncomfortable.
the thing with uncle paul is, its TRUE! thats why its hysterical. some people dont find it funny cuz maybe they were on the other end of uncle paul, if you catch my drift? :)
+NeoSilvanus But he doesn't need radio anymore. He's built up a decent following over the last 15 years from radio, touring, and acting. Artie Lange still plays theaters after Howard and Norton will still be able to play theaters even if he leaves.
I don't get this. Jim Norton does great comedy - the guy is very talented. In contrast, I've never even been able to distinguish between Opie and Anthony because they are talentless hacks who aren't half as smart as Jim. Norton should be top billing or just do his own show. What does Opie even bring to the table? He sounds like a sidekick to begin with. Ever since the O&A show aired in Boston I've thought that it was pretty much the dumbest show on radio. Norton is a bigger, more prestigious brand in my mind - he's lowering himself to even be associated with it.
