It is ok , but it is missing a few thingz...coffeemaker (I need coffee) ..tv with its own resort vision ( kids will need thsy bedtime stories tv.... the space affect is better at space resturant.. is verry expensive for what it is better spent at bora bora... thank you hope you have fun... again thank you.. l9ve y@ Pa1..= Love Ya Pal
It’s only slightly more comfortable than the “holding cell” accommodations Darth Vader gave to Princess Leia on the Star Destroyer Devastator when he first captured her…
Do you think they would kick you out if you showed up as Barf or Dark Helmet? The Bathroom mirror and the bunks are the coolest things in the rooms IMO
Shower looks claustrophobic. Room looks good, but my son is 6'7" and there is no way he or I would be comfortable in a bunk without a paper bag to breathe in and Xanax.
Not going to lie. The very first thing I would do in a room like that would be to gouge out a piece of my shin by hitting the corner of the footboard. Pretty bed though. Wouldn’t want them to change.
I will now call every hairdryer a thermal blower. Room looks alright. Definitely bigger than the concept art and original photos led you to believe. Nice tour. Maybe one day I will get to experience this.
I am impressed by ONE thing in this room. Those reading lights are awesome. Aside from that, I would expect a lot more comfort in a $3000/night room. Maybe the padded headboard is pretty cool too. I hate bashing my head on a wooden headboard. How could you do that, you ask? I'm not at liberty to go into those details in this forum, sorry. Also, I wonder how long before that shade thing in the "window" breaks down. Moving parts = breakdowns, and that's not just a Disney hotel thing.
For the amount of money they are charging, you would think they would have splurged for the Toto washlet bidet toilets since there isn't supposed to be TP in the future.
Can the TVs actually be used as TVs, to watch local channels? Do they at least get Disney+? Or do they just show voyage-themed content like maps and info? I mean, at those prices and with such limited time I don't know why anyone would actually watch regular TV there, but still. It would be hilarious if they had an entertainment mode and the only programming available were old "Star Trek" episodes.
1. Is the bathroom tile 2. The main room floors , looks like a textured garage floor 3. Are the orange trim in the bunks padded or hard plastic ? 4. We need to see Tom in a bunk, he made fun of them so much it only seems right.
The exterior trim is definitely plastic, or at least something hard. But the interior of the bunks looks like they might very well be soft material. They are definitely something different from the exterior trim.
I’m curious about handicap access to the rooms. I understand there’s ECV parking on the “decks”… I’m curious if they are not allowing them to be all around the hotel areas? Also can people in ECV/Wheelchairs do all the missions or are you limited to only some things?
Tom, see if turning off all of the lights in the room would help the window “Out to space” film better. I’m guessing with all the lights, any coming from the camera, and then the window screen, the camera cannot figure out what to do. Where to draw the light from, capturing the reflection, focus on etc. worth a try 😉
Honestly the rooms are the most 'star wars' feeling part of the entire hotel. Shame the toilet and faucets are just generic looking, like they got them from home Depot. But I will give credit where credit is due, the rooms are shockingly well themed to starwars.
Looks rather cheap looking to me for the price. I guess if you are a Star Wars fanatic and want to spend 24 hrs in a dingy room go for it. Not impressed.
Cut out on the shower door is to hang towels on ---with it closed they are out of the spray. Never liked towels over the toilet -----what goes on in there gets on towels.
So far I haven't been able to see a good shot of that window on video its always so reflective and looks really bad, I imagine it looks great in person though
I just want to see what will happen if anyone shows up in federation uniform from Star Trek...I wouldn't spend $6000 to do it but I expect it will happen soon enough.
WDW would be fine; like leaving the "group" to go on rides (Tower of Terror? Slinky Dog . . ). It's your money; can dress and do what you please. Just be missing the point of what you shelled out all that money for.
Interesting that this room did not have the pull down bed under the TV. Every other standard room shown had that pull down bed. I just figured they all did.
Looks like a cruise ship room. They should have done bigger rooms if you are going to spend $6,000. They really cheaped out on everything. I think this place is not going to last long. Fellow people, if you are going to give a review of the hotel, give Honest answers, don't let others and higher up people threaten you to give a "GOOD Rating" of the place.
it is SUPPOSED TO BE THAT. This is all a ROLE PLAYING EXPERIENCE. Watch videos of sci-fy conventions (I went to many when younger.) YOU MARE IN A SHIP IN OUTER SPACE not at The Grand Floridian. Role Play, not 5 star room.
While I am thankful for the video, it’s way too long. 13 minutes to cover a single room hotel room could have been accomplished in less than 5 minutes.
You're supposed to call 911 and tell the operator what your cabin number is. Someone will come and rescue you by opening an external door on the other side of that panel.
You're there for 1.5 days, 2 overnights. Why would anyone use the closet? Do they really think people are going to unpack? If anything they should just have a suitcase/bag storage area. Maybe rolling shelves so you can roll it out, get stuff out of it, and roll it back in to save space in a small room like that.
@@WDWNT Good point. Outside of a suit for weddings and funerals, I don't own anything worth hanging, so it didn't occur to me. Still seems weird they don't have space to store bags. Guess the bunks work if less than 4 in the room.
@@esciteach7997 I've got 5. Anytime we go on vacation we just pull what we need out of our suitcase. Bring a trash bag to put dirty clothes in and then everything stays together. Only ever hung up jackets in hotels.
Your video makes the rooms look much better than it seems based on previous pictures and they do have some nice “in universe” touches with the towels and so on. Also nice to know the bunks are bigger than they look.
Steal a roll of those stickers from a housekeeping cart. "I'm, uh, roleplaying as a space bandit". I love both the shower door and the bathroom door. The room seems better than advertised, though I wasn't expecting much. Space window looks terrible on camera.
For that money you get to share shampoo and body wash with everyone who will stay in that room. Gross! Shower is too narrow. I heard bunk beds are uncomfortable.
Here's the biggest issue I keep hearing about the room, "You won't be in it that much." with that said, some of us like somewhere other than a wardrobe in the entry, to store clothes and whatnot. Also, The corner where all the luggage is, would it literally have killed disney to put an extra seat there? Like, there was literally, no thought, other than what someone might buy put into this.
It's surprising to see a toilet without bidet/seat warmer/etc controls in such an expensive hotel room. Clearly I've been spoiled by living in Japan, where we have those practically everywhere.
I’m not into Star Wars and therefore not the target market so I am not surprised that I am underwhelmed by the value here. They have figured out a way to get people to pay Ultra Premium prices for dinky hotel rooms with furnishings built from the cheapest materials. I know it’s all about the theming and all of the experiences. All of that stuff had better be perfect.
You started the video by saying this was your friend’s standard room. But you’re staying in a one bedroom. When will you show the tour of your one bedroom suite? So far I haven’t seen any videos on those large rooms.
Love the lights and theming of the bunk beds but beyond that.....eh. I want to love this, I really really do but the price and the final product seems mismatched.
Maybe it's the stainless steel or the sterile nature of the room, but I get more of an operation or hospital room vibe than a place I'd want to stay in. Either way, it'll cost you thousands, LOL.
Thanks for letting us know how the Star Cruise look inside... Now that apparently is finish?looks better than the original videos however I can't say much since is not the same a video clip than your own experience . Only 1 thing is always time for Improvements 💖
On the TimTracker video I think he showed there was another bed that pulls down from the wall at foot of the main bed, similar to what is found in many of the Disney World rooms.
It’s much roomier than our stay aboard a Celebrity Cruise Line. We were a family of four, and all four bunk beds folded out from the wall. Smaller than a twin I thought. That Halcyon bed was probably the size of the actual bedroom we had.
I've heard a lot of complaints about the rooms being small but I think they are fine and look great. Could they have made them more 'Star Wars'? possibly but I think they did a decent job. I wish there was more rooms of this size at other resorts for a more affordable price, kind of like the Riviera studios that are even smaller than this. Allows people to have a more affordable room on property, and if you are spending tons of time in your room while at Disney World you are doing it wrong anyways.
I can't believe you think that tiny claustrophobic room is ok. It looks awful. And please do not tell me a 6ft person could fit in the bunk beds. Show me. At lease on a cruise you have the option of a balcony to see out. And it's not even quiet. All I can hear is the people in the hallway. If I had paid for the cheapest cabin on a ship this would be what I would expect to get. Bog standard is what I would call it. What a huge waste of money. Still if money is no object I guess it's fine. More fool the people who think all this crap is cool
agree it is way too small but you are there to ROLE PLAY. Period. Not spend a relaxing 2 days at a WDW resort. YOU ARE PRETENDING YOU ARE ON A SHIP IN OUTER SPACE. your ship will be attacked and you will be hurried out from eating . . .I won't go b/c that is not me; I want to have a coffee maker in my room and relax at dinner. To each his own. Size of room fine for the sci-fy convention going, RPG crowd.
That retractable table right under the window really raises a question for me about how thick the outer hull is supposed to be, or at the very least how far it would appear to extend beyond the viewport. Unless there's clearly a thicker hull surrounding the window that isn't apparent in this video (because of reflections and such), then the table when not in use would seem to be pushed out into space. That kind of gives the game away as far as the illusion of this being a starship. I mean, since IRL that's just a wall housing AV equipment for the window and probably has some depth to it, taking advantage of the space for retractable elements is an efficient design from a hotel room perspective, but it's bad role-playing.
