Hi, thanks for asking. n-1 as the divisor is intended for samples. In my example, I did not treat it as a sample so I did not use n-1. Notice that I also used the Excel formula STDEV.P which is the standard deviation for the population. My goal in this example is to compare the measure of variability of the three groups. So using the same formula for all will keep the comparison valid and reliable. I can also use the formula STDEV.S, which is intended for samples, in Sections B and C. If I used this, then I should use n-1 in Section A.
Sir, good afternoon po. Sir ask ko lang po sana kung applicable rin po ba itong standard deviation sa ranking na may dalawang students na parehas po ang average. For instance, may dalawang students na parehas 93.85 ang average, pwede po bang gamitin ang standard deviation to choose kung sino talaga sa dalawa yung dapat piliin na 1st and 2nd.
