We've had our hands on some pre-production sets of the Standard Omni skates for a few weeks. Stock arrives into the UK mid-March. Pre-order holders hold tight! 🙂
Lots of us skate. I know a bunch who have started and are now financially secure enough to have a skate collection. I have retro rollerblade trs, olive Lomax, usd aeon, sways and Razors SL Graphite. It's making a comeback
These companies are all not selling huge numbers compared to other more established sports. I’d have to agree with you though, aggressive inline skating as an industry is baffling. We all see very small numbers of people skating in our local communities, but keep being told there are skaters everywhere in big numbers! Something doesn’t add up to me, especially knowing what’s happening in other leisure sports sectors with large retailers of sporting goods closing down or refining what they sell. I can’t tell if people are settling for less pay in aggressive compared to other sports and are running on passion, or if it’s actually a semi successful market. Cannot work it out!
Y'all should bring a shop to the US to branch out and have skates ship faster this way because y'all have the best shop in the world for aggressive skating but I usually go to rollerwarehouse or inlinewarehouse just because I live in the US
Thank you! I keep hearing the love for the mounting hardware like it's new. Adapt has been doing that for like 7 years. It was likely done by someone else before then. Great initial offering from Standard though.
When it comes to weighing, you guys should weigh everything boot only. It's a better way to gage it for us consumers. Other thn that great video! I thuroly enjoyed it
We used the uk7-8 shell (the white one shown at the beginning) with the stock liner and we all felt it was a little too big for us (Gas and Jake are size uk7/7.5 and Harry is a uk6). The black one (UK6) from the rest of the video was too small for all of us with the stock liner.
@@LocoSkates hmm so sounds like maybe a fitment issue if you all had issues between 2 different sizes? I know these are pre-production so hopefully it isn't an issue but yeah doesn't sound positive to me. 🤔
@@Reloaded44from what I’ve read, the sizing of the shells is on the larger size. I have the Small shell which is 271mm, I’m able to get my 268ish feet into them with intuition premium liners and doubling up the shock absorbers that came with the skates to gain just enough space to keep away toe pain. I think if I had gone with the medium shell it would of felt too big since it’s a 282mm shell.
I can't stop talking about these skates to my homies and other bladers. They're perfect I cannot recommend them enough to people these are definitely my grail skates and I don't think I'll ever get another pair of skates other than these. I will definitely be keeping an eye on what Standard has to make I can't wait for the new colorways and versions but for now I'm just enjoying what I have. I bought just boot only and have Featherlite 3s currently on these and the lightness can't be matched. It feels like I just have socks on.
Would be cool to get a look at the proportions of all the boot sizes w/ the frames. Being an 11 means I'm always at risk of looking like I'm riding a couple of cruise liners.
Yeah I feel you. That's one reason I always liked chunkier skates like TRS (Estillo, Alphas, Broskows, etc) and Remz. They didn't seem like I had to say "hard to starboard" every time I wanted to turn right.
Wonder in future if we can install 45 degree velcro strap possibly with some kit release on these to make it wizard ready that would be perfect but probably will be looking towards UFR or CJ2 until then.
IMO - all cuffs should all be screw instead of rivet, but yeah you can still replace it of course. It’s just an unnecessary step. And it precludes a hi-lo cuff option.
Damn, loco reviews are simply the best. Not the first time I hear the ankle region being tight. That kinda worries me. Also what about the flex compared to a 5th element or a them? Cheers!
I have both, main thing besides plastic vs carbon is the flex. The Factions have a lot more forward flex, the omnis are stiff. Also price, Omni 220 Vs Factions 425 USD?
It almost 2yrs seen i looked at inlines skates.. Ha3 u guys end up with hardshell.. Which my old inlines is.. Btw im still use the oysi the 72mm..Peace!
Great video. Is there any chance you could do a fit test with different liners in the different sizes to see how they all fit with and without the heel wedges and what the maximum sizes in each shell are. Folks with wide feet like me want to see if downsizing with other liners is possible and where the limits to each shell are. Cheers.
Is that the Pat Ridder Them Intution you put in? I'm guessing it would be the size 26-26.5cm, correct? I also use Them size small, but tried the small omnis with the stock liner at Winterclash and they felt too small. Interested to hear if you get any issues with the toes going forward.
I've seen some reviews that have said the heel is pinchy. I know my heel/ankle doesn't fit the sway size 9 and I'm a 8.5 shoe size. Any idea if the heel on the 9-9.5 shell is wider than the sway as this is a make or break for me and I had my heart set on these. I have wide ankles which is a pain
Ankle did feel a little tight at first (not the heel though), hard to make a fair comment because I was downsizing with different liners. Felt less tight after a a couple of times skating. Lawrence recently pointed out that you can heatmould the plastic with a hairdryer around any pressure point areas (ie heat it up, put it on and stuff a sock inside to widen the ankle while the plastic cools)
I 100% agree!! You are so correct thankyou for noticing that . Kids or any adolescent doesn't need anymore connection to porn considering it's in the face of everyone already.
