Standardized tests can have a huge impact on where you end up in academia, so its best to have a well-thought out and standardized approach to them. This video goes through a method I learned in medical school to study for USMLE Step 1 and step 2CK. While I'm not a natural test taker, by sticking to a regimented schedule, I was able to score between the *92nd and *96th percentile on these tests. The basic idea is to make an honest plan on how much time you have and are willing to study. After this, you distribute your study sessions among all the topics you need to cover. I hope this generalized approach can help you too.

inadvertently developed the same method through trial and error, being unforgiving with time restrictions is a MUST! nice vid !

Thank you, I think this will help me a lot in studying for the MCAT! Most study plan videos just go over what someone did to get a good score, but don't provide any flexibility or logic around why something works. This video is different.

I also don't like Anki tbh, I only used it a little to help me retain Sketchy microbio. I'm also trying to get into neurosurgery for residency. Thank you for this video! I'm going to use it for my finals for sure

Can you make a video on how you would approach reviewing practices questions/exams efficiently!

Thanks for this super helpful video. I'm starting med school in a month and will definitely implement these strategies . Do you think Anki would be worthwhile if you have "pre-made" decks like AnKing (believe it has 36k cards now), since it takes out the time and energy of having to make the cards?

Big emphasis on the Anki not being good.

I agree but why do you think that? It just never clicked for me tbh

Anki is just a good memory tool and nothing else but a lot of people make the mistake of using anki decks as a way of learning new information

strongly disagree

It really depends on what subject you study. Ex biology is mostly memorizing definitions so anki would be good but for things like physic not so much.

its only good for memorizing things, like if u meed to memorize a whole list the its great.
