Check James 2:24. These "By Faith Alone Protestants" are embarrassing. I'm sorry, but it's clear as day, it is not by faith alone but faith through good works. The Lutherans are with us, we (The Catholic Church) and many churches of the Lutheran Communion signed a Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification in 1999. Here is a quote from the document: "Together we confess: by grace alone, in faith in Christ’s saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works." The guy in this video better calm down, and maybe study the bible more because he's not sending out the right message. I recommend found to CatholicAnswers.com and search up faith and works. Catholic Answers is an organization/apostolate run by lay Catholics, many who are converts from Christian denominations such as Assemblies of God, Baptist, and Church of Christ. +

John Wagas Hate to break it to ya..but many more ex-Catholics(including myself) have switched to Protestants. The Lutherans, though named after Martin Luther, have evolved so much that Martin Luther would be rolling in his grave if he knew how far away Lutherans have gotten away from his beliefs. Assemblies of God(especially) don't know their Bibles well(the ones that do cherry pick the Bible and focus on anything regarding the Holy Spirit..thus they are so charasmatic). They are a "feelings"based church, so its no wonder they are drawn away if ANYONE shares with them some Scripture that appears to make sense, Protestants are not against good works. We just know that the Bible teaches that those good works occur from the Holy Spirit making a person born-again spiritually, and the good works happen naturally, since the saved Christian's attitude has totally been transformed to loving what God loves and hating what God hates(namely sin). We believe that our works do not nor cannot add to our salvation in any way. The finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross is the ONLY work that can save someone. If ANY religion believes that good works adds or maintains a person's salvation, they simply dismiss verses from the Bible that refute that false belief. Try reading all of Romans for starters. The Reformation was necessary, since the Catholic church had gotten away from it's roots and had become ridiculously corrupt . Martin Luther, whom WAS a Jesuit Catholic priest and was sent to the greatest schools on earth to study theology, found that the RCC was teaching things not only non-biblical but also things that were against the biblical teachings! Luther did NOT want the Catholic church to fragment. He wanted the leaders of the church to admit that these teachings had evolved from the early teachings and were sinful. He wanted the church to repent and make things right again basically. But to against the Pope and the Big Boys of the Church was a big no-no! How dare he go against THEIR authority, right?! Nope..till this day, no Catholic can question the authority of the leaders of the church. For centuries these same leaders did not want the common people to have a Bible in their hands in fact! Once the printing press came out, the cat was out of the bag, so to speak, and the RCC could no longer stop it from happening. So now it's "ok" and even "good"for a Catholic to possess and read the Bible. Funny how THAT all came about huh? So..whenever you DO read the Bible, please thank the Reformers..the Protestants(notice the word 'protest' in the word Protestant..a protest against the corrupted teachings of the RCC). Also, one of the earliest and most respected church fathers, St. Augustine, taught Sola Fide- the doctrine of justification by faith alone; which , asserts that good works are not a means or requisite for salvation. Most Catholics, including it's leaders love St. Augustine..EXCEPT they reject his teachings of Sola Fide! It appears the RCC CAN have it's cake and eat it to, right?

I didn't realize faith had the power to save me from my sin. I thought only the blood of Christ could do that. My salvation is by His blood alone. Faith is an evidence of His work. Gal 5:22 it's a fruit of the spirit.

The English word "BELIEVE" (verb) in the Spiritual context and meaning is like a Collective Noun (ex. Family, Company, Choir, Herd, etc.) which comes with 3 Components for the Salvation of Mankind, "By GRACE of God through FAITH in Christ Jesus that manifests in good/righteous WORKS." Therefore, in conclusion, the Spiritual Formula/Equation for Mankind Salvation is... [ GRACE (+) FAITH (x) WORK (=) SALVATION ]... (ref. John 3:15 / 3:36 / 11:25-26 /James 2:1-24 )... While St. Paul's letter to the Ephesians and Romans (ref. Eph. 2:8-9 / Rom. 3:20) means that "Personal WORKS (Efforts) ALONE" and "WORKS of the LAW" can not SAVE us... But for our Personal "WORKS" (efforts) to be accepted as Righteous in the Eyes/Sight of God... "WORK" must come first with "GRACE" of/from/by God through "FAITH" in Christ Jesus... That is the ORDER of SALVATION (Grace, Faith, and Work) for Father God/YHWH is a "God of ORDER" and not of Chaos or Confusion... (ref. 1 Corin. 14:33)... Facts and Truth, Biblically and Logically speaking... Praise be to God in Christ Jesus... Amen.

James 2:24 says no man is justified by faith alone ... therefore, no man is saved by faith alone. Works is simply obeying God's commandments - a man is saved by faith and obedience. "the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" (Rev 14:12, 12:17)

I would reply with John 6:28-29...."Therefore they said to Him, "What shall we DO, so that we may work the works of God?" Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you BELIEVE in Him whom He has sent."[all capitals mine... because it is NOT what we DO.... but rather in WHOM we believe!"

The scriptures and the Primitive Church are on the side of the Protestant Reformers. Here from 120 AD, “He himself took on Him the burden of our iniquities. He gave His own son a ransom for us, the holy One for transgressors, the blameless One for the wicked, the righteous One for the unrighteous, the incorruptible One for the corruptible, the immortal One for the mortal. For what other thing was capable of covering our sins than His righteousness. By what other one was it possible that we, the wicked and the ungodly, could be justified, than by the only Son of God? O sweet exchange! O unsearchable operation! O benefits surpassing all expectation! That the wickedness of many should be hid in a single righteous One, and that the righteousness of One should justify many transgressors!” [Epistle to Diognetus 1X, circa 120 AD-emphasis added]

We are saved by Christ's grace and faith. alone "faith rests on grace" Romans 4:16 The grace of Christ saves us , through His faith that endured the cross and shed His blood and " took away " the sin of the world. Ephesians 2:8 by grace , through faith AND THIS NOT OF YOURSELVES , it is a gift of God . What is a gift of God ; it is His grace and His faith , which is not of yourselves, how much plainer can He put it, and then He adds AND NOT OF WORKS. If you think your own faith in Christ's Cross contributes in anyway to your salvation , that is a work of your own. However if you understand God gives each man the measure of faith Romans 12:3 or " A man can receive nothing unless given to him from heaven " John 3:27 your personal faith in Christ's work stands on grace also, so make no mistake it is the grace and faith of Christ alone that saves.

Faith alone is not enough. It is *_through_* faith that we realize we must make a decision: to obey God and seek to do His will, or remain separate from God and continue on our own path. It is faith that makes the choice real to us, then we must make a choice. The verses below feature obedience, not "faith alone": "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" (1 Peter 4:17) "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ." (2 Thessalonians 1:8) Abraham's life illustrates the difference between "faith alone" and faith followed by obedience. Abraham was promised blessings if he would leave home and journey to the promised land. Without any faith, he would have shrugged off the promises as unreal and that would have been the end of the story. But even with faith Abraham could have said to himself, "Well, even though I trust God's promises I'd really rather stay home, in my comfort zone, so I'm not leaving." Would he have received the promises? Of course not. Abraham *_obeyed._* He acted on his faith. He left home, journeyed to the promised land and received the blessings: "By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went" (Hebrews 11:8). *_By_* or *_through_* faith he realized he had a real choice to make, and he *_chose to obey._* The Lord explained to Abraham's son Isaac that Abraham received the promised blessings because of his *_obedience:_* "Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws" (Genesis 26:5). The apostle James wrote "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and *_not by faith only"_* (James 2:24). Abraham's obedience was his "works." He *_believed_* in the true, complete sense of the word _believe:_ he committed himself, he *_acted_* on his faith. In the New Testament Greek texts, "faith" and "believe" are different words; "faith" is a noun, "believe" is a verb. "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God." (James 2:23) "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" (James 2:26). Faith without commitment, without action, is useless. Nothing changes. Did Abraham stay home and claim "faith alone"? So what does God want us to do today? How do we "act" on our faith? God "now commands all men every where to repent" (Acts 17:30). That is how we can receive mercy: "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13) If we choose not to turn from sin, we'll remain unredeemed from the death penalty earned for our past sins and will surely perish in death (Romans 6:23) for those sins. That's why Jesus warned, "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3,5). We must "believe," we must act on our faith to avoid perishing: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Protestant beliefs are contradictory and self refuting which means it cannot be of God. Belief 1) Good works is only a fruit or sign of salvation Belief 2) Man will always produce bad fruit (sin) Conclusion: No Protestant is saved because they will always produce bad fruit

Rod have you read any Scripture? Psalm 62:12 Also unto thee, O Lord, [belongeth] mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. Proverbs 10:16 The labour of the righteous [tendeth] to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin. Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil. Jeremiah 17:10 I the LORD search the heart, [I] try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, [and] according to the fruit of his doings. Ezekiel 18:27 Again, when the wicked [man] turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. Matthew 25:41-46 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of the least of these, ye did [it] not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Luke 10:26-28 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. John 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. Romans 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad. 2 Corinthians 11:15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 2:14 What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 1 Peter 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning [here] in fear: Revelation 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. Revelation 20:12-13 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Revelation 22:14 Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

If you crazy people think your saved by your own faith in any way then you are self righteous, your own savior and a lunatic. Everything in the Universe is by the grace of God. Where did you get "your faith" from, did you create it yourselves? " A man can receive nothing unless it is given him from heaven " If you say you chose God by your "free will " your calling God a liar

How can faith exist without works? If you sin and don't do good works you are denying God's authority and that may be believing but not having faith, which means to trust him. Also demons believe in God but by revelking to him they deny his authority, they deny he's God, they are saying "im in charge, not God".
