It was the reformers who did as the Anglican denomination didn't come into being until afterwards. BTW the Catholic Church does sometimes us the word Roman in documents.

+Joao Rodrigues I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church and have left that institution... R.C. has a series on Roman Catholicism ( 7 message series, well worth the investment). He teaches, if not mistaken, that the Roman Catholic Church believes (an Aristotilian view).. that though the accidens (that is the outward visible bread and wine) remain visible as bread and wine; that when the priest prays the prayer of consecration, that these elements actually become (miraculously) the body and blood of Christ. Thus you have Christ being sacrificed over and over again everywhere this is done ( a non-bloody sacrifice). Of course protestants, on varying levels disagree with this, as do I.

Joao Rodrigues You are assuming a miracle occured. God can hasten recovery without working a miracle, which is something outside the bounds of normal occurence.

How can we measure what is or what isn't outside a normal (natural) occurrence? Bodies are different and react differently to more or less the same causes. My point was, if I remember correctly, to question the apparent unacceptance, on the part of the speakers, of present day miracle workers in the Name of Jesus.

@@JoaoRodrigues-jc7jr I've heard them say they believe in miracles by the providence of God and not through particular men or women. God heals by His own sovereignty. Therefore we pray for people but must understand it is all due to God's providence to heal.

Ultimately, I believe it goes back to this: we are naturally a fallen people… the issues these men are divided on are not issues that regard our salvation. Did God have one singular meaning when inspiring scripture? Yes he did. But in our fallenness we are unable to grasp and understand ALL of his revelation. There are things we HAVE to get right and agree on to be saved: we are saved by grace through faith, and once we have that faith Jesus gives us His righteousness so that when God looks upon us he doesn’t see us as unrighteous, He has mercy upon us because of his grace- undeserved goodwill. But as a fallen people there are some things that we won’t comprehend completely or correctly and if those things are not salvivic then I believe we have a liberty to do that, but also we have an obligation to try to understand Better the things the Bible teaches. +Tresa Sanders I understand what you are saying but on this point you are in disagreement with Paul when you say, "when a person is truly born again, they will cease from sin, and bear fruit. Yes you will bear fruit and you will want to please God and hate the sin you do and ultimately stop doing it.. Never the less, Paul said even he did not do the good that he wanted to and did what he did not want to do at times. The process is called sanctification. We grow spiritually at different rates as believers and we need teachers at times to teach us Gods word. Unfortunately, we as humans are fallable. This is not an excuse to sin, by no means, but we must be diligent to look into scripture and see if the things we are being taught are so (like the Bereans). It is all of grace and God will bring us through to victory (ultimately). Elsewhere he says that if you say you do not have sin that you are deceived and you have no part in God Yes the Holy Spirit will teach us and direct us into all righteousness...but remember God gave the church teachers whom He has gifted and prepared for the edification of His church. Sorry for the rant. But it is more complex than just sinning or not sinning. God bless you and all the believers here that they would be Holy and love the Lord with everything they have.

No, they believe in transubstantiation which to them, the bread and wine become the actual blood and body of Jesus Christ, which the priest then sacrifices time and again, although an unbloody one. But even to this a true sacrifice MUST be by blood only, see Cain and Able. So either way you look at it, this goes against scripture. Catholics hold the church and tradition equal with the Word of God, but how can ANYTHING touched by human hands EVER be equal to God? I believe this was the whole point God was trying to show us through the law in the Old Testament.

Watch it again. RC Sproul and John MacArthur both explain the reason behind their claims. Like you, I have people I love caught up in what they believe is a Christian church (Word of Faith, not Roman Catholic) and I have people I love who don't (at this time) accept Jesus Christ. As Christians - we know (biblically) that this is how it is/will be - ultimately for His name's sake. Jesus tells us this. It's heart breaking for us (humanly speaking) but Jesus also said that if we can not 'give' up or turn away from people we love - for Him - then we cannot be His disciples. We take things personally when it involves people we love. Don't. If you agree wholeheartedly in their biblical stance then go share it with your family.

Hello, I'm not an expert but I read my Bible and believe it is true. Nowhere in the Bible is there mention of a confessional where a man grants me remission from the sin I confessed after I say my penance, which is or are mantras, repetitive prayer to man made deity. Holy Mary, Mother of God. Where did this practice come from? It isn't scriptural. Jesus, Messiah, gave clear instruction that we should be happy that he is gone to the father. Not only for the indwelling of his Holy Spirit but now is opened because of Jesus being with our father, direct prayer to our father and brother with the promise of prayer being heard and answered according to God's will. Why, having the promise from Jesus, paid for by him laying down his life for me, would I insult and soil, even threaten my salvation, he purchased for me with his life by a public display of him without sin, crucified. The humiliation heaped upon him as he carried that tree to Calvary is unfathomable for me to comprehend and I cry. Then Him resurrected and I with Him, tears to the fullness of His joy in the twinkling of an eye. Abba Father Why would I ever be inclined, coerced, persuaded, convinced, manipulated, conned, threatened, or have need to enter a dark telephone booth, open a little screened and draped window, to talk to a man deeply bound in traditions of men, professing to be representing God, this catholic priest absolves me of sin from behind a wall in darkness. I thought this new covenant, the unblemished lamb sacrificed to death but resurrected to life, ended the Mosaic covenant, animal sacrifice for the temporary remission of sin and the mortal Levitt Priesthood replaced by a better covenant with our High Priest, the order of Melchisedec, immortal. This new covenant requiring no blood sacrifice for the remission of sin as this High Priest immortal, putting on mortality, lay down his life for his friends, the last blood sacrifice. This High Priest, perfect, without sin, innocent, was brought to judgment by the Wicked, tried, found guilty, sentenced to death, crucified to death. The Wicked, joyful that they had extinguished the light of life, the unrighteous in darkness celebrating, victorious over their enemy truth, light and life until captivity was made captive by the truth being born again, Death itself defeated by life, truth and the way resurrected from death to life tore the veil opening the Holy of Holies to all who believe in him whom he sent. This new and perfect covenant is not a respecter of blood lines as was the replaced Levitt Priesthood. It being mortal, the Priests all descendants by blood from Levi. Aaron, chosen by God and anointed by Moses, his brother to be the first of a long line of Levitt's dying and replaced, similar to the animals sacrificed year after year. Catholicism took on the trappings of the Pharisaical Levitt Priesthood and stayed in the Mosaic Covenant, remaining under the law. In rejecting Jesus and Father God including blaspheme of the Holy Spirit, they are denied access to the promises and the substance of, and the properties which are available to all Christ followers. If Mary and all the saints they transformed (deified) are dead, not having been anointed by God but made as gods by man, and by their ignorance and rebellion against God, unbelief, they have become the five virgins locked out of the wedding having no oil in their lambs, gate closed and locked. Believing that the commandments given to Moses still operational they go through the motions of traditions practiced for so long they have forgotten they invented them and defend them with a claim that theirs is the only church established by Jesus. God turned out the lights and cut off the power in the Mosaic Tabernacle 2000 years ago. What Catholics offer for the remission of sins wasn't originated by the only one with the power and the authority to forgive sin, thus purifying the sinner. Without remission of sins there can be no salvation. What are the wages of sin? Good thing they are Catholics. They created two places to go when dead that aren't in the Bible but then either are they. Since heaven is out of the question and hell too familiar, they'll maybe get to choose between limbo or purgatory. Remember when Jesus warned to beware of the leavening of the Pharisees? These are them of whom he warned. The warning is being validated today possibly in the church you attend. It seems the objects in churches symbolically representing spiritual principles and concepts eventually over time become the object of worship, no one remembering what they represented. It still having the appearance of holiness but hasn't it's substance carbon copy defining it's worshippers. Don't worry for Catholics. There will be a remaining remnant and God will choose who he will for salvation to his purpose. He is the author and the finisher. Not me or you. I know some of you out there, especially proponents of the importance of exercising their so-called free will believe you are the author and Him the finisher. It is not true but is very close to transforming yourself which satin has done into an angel of light and his followers into ministers of righteousness. Coming soon to a church near you. ***** Thanks Frank, I had forgotten about this' One thing it brings home is the concrete commitment to it a creed or core statement of denominational absolute and unconditional agreement as a requirement for membership in this body of believers. That being said, it makes it impossible for myself to ever subscribe to a sect or cult with any doctrine unsupportable by Bible scripture. There is and can be scriptural disagreement in a doctrine but not when it is gospel and involves salvation. People are free to belief the Earth is flat. It isn't my duty to be a missionary of God's Word. Or do anything. If you love God, His Word and do the two commandants Jesus brought into this covenant, That is the works of your faith, which aren't works but your faith made visible, they being one thing. The last thing a Christ seeker should do is preach and teach a religion falsely. One can't give what one doesn't have to give. Spiritual understanding/revelation is given from God. If it could be earned by works then it would be of this world not from God. God ls spirit, understood and worshipped in spirit. He chooses whom he will. Not you but him. He's knocking on your door right now, answer it.
