paralyzed living You're Awesome! I've been a paraplegic for 37 years. was in a car accident at the age of 17 in 1979 .. was blessed with my first and only child "beautiful daughter " at 19 .. now I'm a grandmother of 3 beautiful grandkids. God bless you
Thank you so much for the video. I am also paralyzed from the upper chest down, and have been looking at standing wheelchairs. None of the videos from sellers show paralyzed people using them and I wondered if they were at all helpful. So your video is very helpful for me. I like to work with my hands and miss doing simple things that I need to stand to do. I think a chair like this will make my life more enjoyable. Thanks very much and I hope life is treating you well.
I found this chair used on Craigslist. They do make electric wheelchairs that stand up and drive around but they are $25K. a company called LEVO makes both manual standing wheelchairs and the electric ones...but they are EXPENSIVE. This chair is big, heavy and clunky compared to the Levo.
i ran into your channel today and i just have to say YOU ARE AMAZING!! i cant imagine what you've been through, you are brave and courageous and just really awesome!
I loved when he said "the last thing I wanna do is sit here and stand" kinda controversial but he's awesome love his videos he has a great personality!!!
My husband is polio since he was 3. Now he got surgery by cracking bone where whistle. He is so much depressed for the shoulder pain although takes pain killer and once in 2month shot. When I see you, you are such awesome man, giving such courage to many hand-caped people. Thanks so much for your such helpful videos!!!!!!
You're so incredible and such an amazing inspiration. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to finding a standing wheelchair for my husband who is also paralyzed from the upper chest down. Take care and God Bless!
This is a wonderful thing to see I didnt know these wheelchairs were available.Im actually in awe and kind of tearful because one day my fianće will be needing a chair like this seeing that he was diagnosed with charcot marie tooth.
I like things which help disabled people do things for themselves! Love video and your demonstration! I have added this video to one of my playlists! Ebay and Craigslist are good places to find assistive devices. Wife found wheelchair off eBay for less then could get through local retailer.
What kind of everyday chair do you use? 35# sounds pretty heavy to put into and out of a car. Looking at chairs and wondering what you have liked best . Thanks, you are inspirational
Thanks for the demo. I'm L1 and haven't been in a standing frame for 10 years. Does standing cause you pain? Do you feel dizzy? Good luck for the future.
I know you made this comment 5 years ago.... BUT my insurance fully paid for a levo! My reasoning was I started going to hair school and I needed it to be able to reach my clients’ heads.
I’m not able to walk I have feeling in my back and legs but constantly in a lot of pain. I found your channel today while I was looking for electric wheelchairs. I been to several Drs and there’s no surgery that will help me. I may have to learn to deal with my disability. Watching your channel lets me know not to give up and just keep going Maybe if my insurance will help pay for a electric wheelchair and I can do more things and be able to get out more. My husband pushes me in a manual wheelchair but he has problems with his knee and uses a crutch.
I know where you are coming from.i have degenerative disc in my back.and neuropathy in both legs and arms.arthitis in my spine and knees.i am a wheelchair but I can walk a little.i stand do dishes laundry make my bed and 11year old son bed.hang clothes.do all hoilday cooking for 20 people.my sons always helps get stuff out of the oven.just need to be able to have something to help walk alot of pain in my knee the last couple of weeks.dont give up it might take longer to get things done but you will.make things more available for you.i move all my plates and bowls to lower cabinet.every now doesn't mind .it easier for me to be mom
Question :) Are you able to (not really have you, but would you be able to) stand on your own with forearm crutches and leg braces? I have a friend who is a paralyzed at the waist and working with forearm crutches, but he is a much different injury.
C'est très bien, et avec ça tu peux même prendre quelque chose en haut, même si il n'y a pas quelqu'un à côté. Bon travail à vous. Que Dieu vous bénisse. Je ne comprend pas votre langue mais je suis très contente. merci
Question: I have MS and my legs are very weak. What is holding you up? The waist and chest belts, the knee locks or the fact that you are standing at an angle? I'm hoping something like this would work for me. I love your videos! They are so informative and honest.
I'd say all of it is helping him to stand. My legs are awfully weak and pretty sure they got more weaker due to lack of standing. Though I used to use a fixed standing frame when I used to be in elementary and that gave me plenty of support. Though I think I could only do it for 30 minutes or less. Hope things are going well for you. :)

@mokaPRALINEcrnch Never say never but I don't think I could stand very well using leg braces. Since I am paralyzed from the armpits down I don't have control of my core muscles. This would make balancing my upper body very difficult.
There are leg braces that also has back brace though, for when being floppy in hips and back as well. It might be possible for some good orthotist to come up with something if you wanted to try it anytime
im disabled as well from birth i would def. purchase a chair like that in the near future. You have inspired me to be more independent than I actually am, i also thought that i could never drive a CAR and seeing u in ur GT was like WOOW i wanna drive like he does.
The companies that make any product usually account for 25% of the selling price. The rest goes to the distribution chain. Same rules apply for pretty-much any manufactured device. If you pay 10 dollars for any item, it probably left the factory for way under 3 dollars. Plus assistive devices count as Medical Devices and are heavily regulated which adds to the cost at each step. Like buying a car or a PC; you can usually get a good second-hand deal (from the 10% who can afford to buy new 😉).
Hello, I am doing my thesis on a wheel that can climb stairs and I was thinking about the actuator u r using..what type of actuator is it and what force is it lifting..thank u :)
What is the model? Sorry if you mentioned it already in the video. I keep searching for when you say it and checked the description but I can't seem to find it. THANK YOU!!!
brian how i can get this standing wheelchair.....and is there possibility to add a joystick control to it to be able to move around while in standing position rather lowering it before turning it ......would it be more productive.....
Could you maybe give me advice, I am paralysed from the waist down and have some control but not enough to stand on my own without braces. Can you help?
I have a Permobil and had to pay over $3.5k for deductible and the insurance paid over $30k. Should be light weight but it weight over 40 pounds. I think you made a good investment even though it’s heavy weight this things never get out of the house
Very nice. I like that. I can not afford that. I can see where it comes in handy. Some time show us a video of how you shower and all. Keep up the good work.
I had an accident that they thought I was going to recover from and haven't been able to with 4 surgeries later I am looking at a life in a wheelchair any advice for me and how to adapt a house as I am looking to get a wheelchair accessible house and van .
So sorry to hear about your accident. I have a vid that I talk about accessible mods. Here’s the link! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YhYQ57s8Myk.html

WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA FOR A BIDET TO BE THOUGHT AS THE BEST? 1. To be 100% effective for every one, especially if there are hemorrhoids.. Obviously for that reason its water stream must be VERTICAL. 2. It must be sanitary safe and further not push filthy water to ouro-genitalia. That means not heated water and again that water stream should be VERTICAL OR FRONT TO BACK ATER JET. . 3. It should be easily installed . 4. Easily used. 5. Not costly 6. It should be combined with raised toilets. That is possible only if water stream is VERTICAL. KO BIDET MEETS THEM ALL!!!
I don't understand why my post was flagged. I was asking an honest question. You seem to point out a few imitations of your chair. It also seems you based your buying decision on price rather than quality of life. I was just curious if you test drove a Redman.
My ER bill for getting ex-rays after a train wreck was $2999 not including ambulance ride For something as routine as that, comparing the $10,000 cost for a good standing wheelchair for you is just cheap, just nothing. I wish some of these insurance execs could experience the benefits of standing versus the lacks of not standing and see how much longer and better their bodies would last. We need to stop spending our money on weapons and start spending on basic health care needs such as this.
I am very interested in having one, I have MS and I've had it for at least 6 years now and they standing wheelchair I do believe will fit my everyday wear. It will help me be able to get back into society as well as civilization.
Isaiah 35:5&6: At that time the eyes of the blind ones will be opened, and the very ears of the deaf ones will be unstopped. At that time the lame one will climb up just as a stag does, and the tongue of the speechless one will cry out in gladness.
