To add on to your 3-part decision framework where you question if you can add unique value; I would kindly further break it down into two questions to help the mind grasp the meaning of what is "unique". In the event that a video already exists on a topic that you would like to cover, I would ask: 1) can I do it differently, or 2) can I do it better? This thought exercise is simple, and provides two possible avenues you can pursue. Overall, I love to hear that you had a great internship experience! If by chance you haven't encountered this book, I'd recommend to have a look at Jeffrey Bussgang's 'Mastering The VC Game'. It is a pleasurable read! :)
Such a great video again. I'm wondering if it's possible for you to share the interview process of the internship and the way to prepare for it? Moreover, it would be fantastic if you could share or maybe invite other classmates at Stanford GSB to share different summer internship experiences. I am really interested in getting to know different career paths (such as PE, Consulting) you mentioned in this video and what it is like working there. Thank you Lukas again for the great content.

Hi Mahantesh, good question! Generally 3-5 years of work experience is the sweet spot. Some schools may accept students with only 2-3 years of work experience. The relevant question is: How much impact did you have at work? What relevant experiences can you bring to the classroom? You will get more out of the MBA experience yourself if you can relate the course learnings to a situation you have experienced in your work life. And your classmates will benefit from you sharing your experience if it is relevant to the case being discussed. The chance of someone having experienced interesting situations at work goes up as you get deeper into your career e.g., should you fire this person? should you buy this company? should you enter this new market?
Hi Rk, magoosh has its own question data base, but the questions are very similar to those on the GMAT. I found them very useful for the preparations, because they have good explainer videos and related lessons (math & verbal). I would also encourage you to do the practice tests on MBA.com. KR Lukas
Very good question! The VC scene is still very much dominated by the funnel of successful entrepreneurs (mostly male) and finance professionals (mostly male) of the last generation. This is however changing, the current generation of associates, principals and increasingly partners is getting a lot more diverse. There are also more and more female led VCs targeting women founders. In the market every gap is also an opportunity.. so someone identifying great overlooked founders, can not only provide chances to underrepresented communities, but also make a lot of money!
