That is some beautiful basketball. I have been watching this video so much lately. I wake up, say my prayers, take a shower , watch this video, then go to work. Learning so much from this video.

Hey Coach, great breakdown as always. Is there any chance you could review something as unorthodox as Chino Hills HS’s in 2016? I know there isn’t much of a concrete system there, but maybe comparing it to something like the Loyola Marymount system that Paul Westhead inspired in the 70s/80s could produce some educational value. The press defense, Hail Mary fast break system was most recently popularized by Chino Hills, but also popped up in national stories such as Grinnell College (where Jack Taylor scored 138 points). Might be a reach, and might not be as educational as you would want. But I think that if there are any unorthodox principles that can be pulled from these high powered offensive systems, it would be super cool to watch. Keep up the great work!

Hey Coach, one of your subscribers here. 1.) Thank you for the service you provide. It has been worth every penny. 2.) As a HS girls coach, it has been hard to find breakdowns/examples of women's teams, so this breakdown is awesome. 3.) We do a lot of split action. I have a very talented young post who is a great scorer but also great passer. I talk to her a lot on being patient on the catch and letting the split actions/reads develop, but I get the feeling she thinks I'm trying to take away from her ability to score. When you were breaking these videos down, did you come across any examples of posts scoring out of these looks? Watching the reads, and since the split action helps occupy the help defenders, it allows them more space to go to work? I know you probably get questions like crazy, so understand if you don't get back. Just wanted to try. Thanks again.

Preciate the video. You think you could discuss Arizona Women’s Defense?

When I teach chin, I also say to reject if you see the bottom defender with flat feet/back fully to the basket

Almost looks like the curl reads are designed calls vs reads. Could be wrong. The reject screen are staples in pure Princeton. Also the elbow series looks like an alternative way to enter the point series. Did they utilize under? I don't think seen it in your clips. Thanks for the great break down

I did not see them run any under-actions in their playbook this year. It looked like it at first, but mainly went to a post up.

Are they taught not to screen the defense and just a spot on the floor? I noticed they always screened the air. It makes me think they are all predetermined cuts, since a screen doesn't occur. Any thoughts on this might help me out. Thanks for this lovely breakdown. This is awesome!

They always screen as if the player receiving the screen is going to curl the screen, allowing the player receiving the screen to make a read off of what the defense does. We have 3 options when receiving a screen: Reject/backdoor, curl, or pop for a catch and shoot. Usually the screener only makes contact if the player receiving the screen chooses to curl, otherwise the defender is usually overplaying or sitting underneath the screen allowing for a backdoor or pop.

Kinda sad the woman’s basketball side doesn’t get a podium for winning the championship unlike the Mens game. It’s also sad to see that at neutral sits the floor is the own university floor with a decal of march madness like really? You can’t have the march madness tournament courts at the women’s field ?
