I recall when Luther and Whitney Houston played the Summit in Houston, Tx on 8.16.1985. I was working security there that night and was asked to stay with Whitney after she finished the opening act and she wanted to see Luther perform. Whitney was just getting started with the 'You Give Good Love' album and was a rising star. It was Luther's birthday and he turn'd that mutha out! Best concert I've ever experienced, plus got to be Whitney's bodyguard that night! Who would have thought that they both would be gone so soon...too bad we didn't have cell-phones and camcorders back then, because this was the best concert to have captured on video!

THE NIGHT I FELL IN LOVE Tour was my first "Luther experience". The final count was 27 Luther concerts. This tour and show hooked me. Musta' been 1985 or 86. He was "Big Luther" then, then the following year he came back "Lil' Luther" for the GIVE ME THE REASON Tour. I remember him in a "Cosby-like designer sweater and the highlight for me was him and Kevin Owens singing THERE'S NOTHING BETTER THAN LOVE.
Hi Jack. The first time I saw the legendary Luther Vandross was before his stadium shows. Debarge opened for him. I was 16 or 17 then. I went to see Debarge but when the show was over all I could talk about was Luther! He was amazing!!! During this show he walked out on stage with this giant sized KFC bucket lol..you know the famous Eddie Murphy joke. The second time was when he first lost all that weight and Anita Baker was a part of the tour! It was one of the greatest shows I have ever seen! Oh and his performance of "Superstar" blew the roof into orbit!
There's several videos of his live performances. And now that I have my RCA to HDMI cords, I can upload the entire show from 1994. The only part I missed was when Lisa Fischer started singing, because my battery died, but I had a back up. I did upload damn near 13 years ago, but my old account was shut down (by Prince). Some of my old videos are still floating around on YT, but I need to upload the show again. I thank you for coming through.

Saw Luther live at the LA Sports Arena 3 times in the late 80s... his show was off the hook and Anita Baker was the opening act...,. nothing else to say!
¿Spyware? ...maybe..quite perhaps. Yesterday, I was messaging with a friend that I nvr heard him sing this live. We shared a couple of version, the original and Najee's. This showed up early in my RU-vid scroll this morning. 🤔
