If You take out plastic plate ,you can fit a snow peak titanium plate inside and the lid will go back on. I use a "Joe band " from Amazon to go around so lid doesn't pop off . Yes , I am that guy 😁
It's amazing that a company puts out good products like Stanley ,Which all of their stuff seems real good, now a days for the money they charge, Bravo to them.
That fry pan is the best pan ive bought in years. I like the size, need the size but also wish there was a bigger one (yes, thats what she said), the quality is 10 out of 10. I like it so much I will use it at home occasionally if needed. Cleans up real well... some stickage depending on what you are cooking and how you have prepared the pan, but it cleans up like new. Stanley has never disappointed me for cook camping stuff.
I have this same set, used it last month. I did not take the plates or utensils. I used the lid as a plate for laying out the food I cooked. The pan did very well and the others I camped with last month liked seeing it in action over the campfire
Thanks. Awoke a-little muddled after a nap to more beer bug bull crap cramping my phone alerts and was pleased to see this. Then actually chuckled when you said diameter as you moved your hand around the circumference. Ketchup- a gurl after my own heart. Lol. Congrats!
I love this set with the spatula, for my SUV camping trips! Though, I leave the tiny plates at home, since the pan handle can be folded underneath the pan, the silicone pad goes inside the lid, pan on top, so I use it as bowl/plate (and keep fingers warm in cool weather while eating!). Because of the thick bottom it feels like a 'real' pan, nice to cook with it, nothings burns, the size is perfect. When you clean it nicely, there is no need for carrying a bigger pot, I boil noodles or rice in it, got a SS lid for the pan in the thrift store. Additional to the spatula, inside the pan 'lives' a >GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless 3 pc. Cutlery Set< (not using the sporks) and a sharp pocket knife For boiling water for hot bvgs. I use the narrow >Stanley Adventure 24oz Camp Cook setMSR PocketRocket2
I make a similar dish.. I use 1/3 onion slices, 1/3 potato slices, and 1/3 Yam slices.. Salt/Pepper. CamelinaGold oil. I add water to soften the potato and let it brown up.
I've got one. I use it on my kitchen stove. Haven't had a chance to try it camping, yet. It's good. I really , really like that thick, clad bottom. That makes a heckuva lot of sense. I like the size. It's a good compromise. I would prefer to have a metal lid that fits tightly, and would perhaps be held on with a clip or clasp or something. The cutting board is useful. Spatula packs small. The plastic plates are OK material, but are too small and shallow.
Nice! Here's the million-dollar question: is this a direct size replacement for the trangia fry pan; that is, could I place this fry pan on the trangia set and put it back together?
The only thing that stops me getting this pan is the lack of lid for cooking, like the pathfinder one has , I can do without all the bits and bobs it comes with, stay safe 😁😷
Although extremely late congrats on your wedding anniversary. I too had bought this set year or so ago..it's better than most camp pans no doubt. It is stainless steel & good quality at that..if I might enlighten you on cooking with stainless steel pans. You absolutely MUST season ALL STAINLESS STEEL PANS. As a retired chief of 27 years..in order to condition your pan for years of usages without damaging ( sticking ) Aka: ( burning ) especially cooking in the OUTBACK when regulating your heat source is questional!! Many ways too season pans..tried and true way for us was to use animal base lard in pot to cover bottom of pan & heat untill a lite smoke appears..shut of stove and let temperature naturally diminish. Clean pan completely with lint free paper towel. Repeat this step 4 or more times.. you will see a Golden patina begin to form.. this Only the beginning of the seasoning process. Each time you have the time condition your pan as before. At anytime during this process you fill tackiness while wipe'n out your pan..Well you must start the whole process over again..remember to completely remove all oils out of your pans before reseasoning. Best of luck..& keep up the great videos..
Yeah but if you smack someone in the back of the head with it it's still going to bend but I'll be damned if it ain't going to hurt it's one thing about those even heat fry pans the only bite about it when you smack someone in the back of the head with a damn thing now you got to go out and buy a new one 🤣
Good looking breakfast. The stainless pans are good cooking ones. I do mine a little differently. Hash Browns with Onions. Then Hamburger in the pan and when cooked the scrambled eggs go in with the hamburger.
I have to say in impressed with this kit, and I do need one more camping skillet. I'm impressed with the extras, the trivet, the plates, the spatula. I believe I'll be getting one of these when work starts again and that thing called a paycheck arrives.
Well, crap... Now I'm HUNGRY 😍😍😍 Sausage & fried taters are the bomb! I have to go vegan because I have cancer but my plant based sausage is just as good as animal protein. I cook mine with olive oil. It's sooo good. I use the plant based eggs, too. Once it's seasoned it all tastes the same. 🤷 Another Great video! Thank you for your service & continued service helping us strive & survive in comfort.
Hello sir i started whatching your video's do you have a video about clothing and night gogles sorry am from Holland hopefully you understand keep going making these creat video's
That is a real good heavy duty frying pan! It’s not that cheap tin. I really like how it has the cutting board with it then that really nice spatula and silverware. And you can tell how evenly it was cooking. Plus it will never work because it’s stainless steel mostly. Thanks for the video was very entertaining! Oh And happy 22nd anniversary! That’s terrific!
If cooking on a narrow flame pattern that doesn’t spread as well as wanted, place a lid of a tin-can over the flame, then set the pan on top of that thin lid. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
I really enjoy and appreciate your videos, I feel I can make a well informed decision from them. Any thoughts on how this would work on a backpacking style gas stove?
The small is-butane stoves have a very hot and very concentrated flame this is centered over just a couple or three inches. The thick bottom of this pan should be great for dispersing the heat all across the bottom of the pan when used with these backpacking stoves. I do wonder why Stanley doesn't just put a non-stick coating on the pan - that would make it perfect.
