Stan casually accounting for when the gravity spikes happen and then moving around in 0Gs without any prior training is not only badass, but proves he can be as intelligent and capable as his brother if he really applied himself
I think its a Bit Like dipper and mabel, Who both have the Same iq But Mabel is a Bit more Goofy but when she has to, she is really intelligent and yeah Thx for the 113 Likes :)
Hell, the man was a con artist for multiple years and avoided the police for a very long time. Fully faking your own death and doing the shit he did takes definte smarts! As someone put it nicely, wheras Stanely is a genius in street smarts, Stanford is a genius in book smarts. Both can be experts in their own fields!
Stan has defeated 3 bald eagles with ease, a horde of zombies with nothing but a bat and brass knuckles, a pterodactyl in hand to hand combat, and an inter dimensional demon with godlike powers using nothing but his wits. Stan is truly built different.
Can we all just stop a second and talk about how Stan both punches eagles with BOTH HANDS while he climbs scaffolding and catches two 100 LBS twelve-year olds with one arm.
To me, he’s more badass than Don Torletto. At first, you do think like the Pines twins when you first see Stanley Pines. He’s more than just grumpy and a comic relief character but also has a hidden heart of gold especially towards his family and is completely badass like this video. That’s why I think he’s important to the show as well as he’s my favorite character too
Stan taking on zombies using brass knuckles may still be one of the most badass things I've ever seen. Seriously, the guy was PUNCHING zombies without a hint of hesitation. Badass.
Not ONLY that, but he was presumably swinging the bat with them on as he would've had no time for a weapon swap. Meaning he was swinging and bashing skulls with a bat *without two out of three knuckles.* That's both painful as hell and you have no grip, but he pulled it off
Stanford survived 30 years traveling alternate dimensions. Stanley survived a summer of kicking monster butt in Gravity Falls with his niece and nephew and (nearly) sacrificed his memory to defeat a demon. Dipper unearthed multiple supernatural mysteries in a spooky Oregon town and (with the help of his family and friends) stopped a demon apocalypse. It's safe to say the Pines men are badasses.
Mabel saved Dipper from falling out a window when he fought with Gideon and she also saved Dipper when they fell off the bridge due to Gideon's robot. Mabel was the key that allowed Ford to return, if she had shut the portal down Ford wouldn't have come back. Mabel helped Mermando get home. Mabel got the unicorn hair to protect the shack. Mabel discovered the gnomes weakness. Mabel has done some pretty bad ass things herself. Remember Mabel didn't know what the rift was and she didn't know Bill was tricking her. She had no way of knowing that what she did would lead to Weirdmageddon. Anyways don't sell Mabel short. She's done some amazing things too.
The way he calls out Bill, it's holding weight. All that backed up emotional damage for the 30 years, the attempts at his family, all the lies he had to make, things he had to do, the things done to him. This wasn't just Stan's redemption, it was his victory over his past.
This comment is stolen from the user ‘Just Journey’ who made the same comment 4 years ago. Shame on you BrendanLM. Shame on you. (Also the punctuation and wording are the same so it’s not just a coincidence)
When we see Stan’s flashbacks, he is always portrayed as a self centered crook, but he is actually constantly going to great lengths to defend his family.
@@iantaggart3064 I know it's been a year, but due to the location and age of the boards, they were likely petrified. Petrified wood is more similar to rock in terms of toughness, making Stan's feat of strength even more impressive, at that age no less.
Fun Fact: That bus driver is Kyle MacLachlan from Twin Peaks. My guess is since the show was somewhat based on Twin Peaks, Alex Hirsch probably wanted to get Kyle on as tribute
@@ARTSONICFAN990 what I love is that Ford's gun isn't a regular gun, it's clearly some kind of alien ray gun and the bus driver took one look and decided he didn't want to know what it did
Well, when Rick is running away from the other ricks, and opening a bunch of portals, the question mark mug, pen, and notebook go through one of the portals. The same items that were sucked into the portal when stan started it up. So they are connected in some way.
@@declan722 that my friend is what we call an "easter egg" alex hirsch and justin roiland (co-creator of rick & morty) are good friends, so it makes sense that a detail like that was added
Somehow, I compare him to Scrooge McDuck. They may be money hungry but they are not heartless... Not to mention that they'll do anything for their families.
He stupid, but he make up for that flaw with clever wits and strong will power. I mean this man in his elder years just brass knuckles a bunch of zombies and live.
Dude Stan was a great uncle. He was greedy and selfish a lot but this man risked his life multiple times for his kids. (Just gunna say kids) even his kids pet because he knew it would hurt her. 10/10
One thing I love about that final scene is how the entire time bill had been all powerful, yet in his last moments he was begging someone he had maybe 2 interactions with throughout the entire show for mercy
I like how Bill Cipher was trying to make some curse so he can come back before he literally breaks apart and melts before getting punched and get torn to millions of pieces.
@@shadydaemon4178yh it wasn’t a curse. in matpats vid he reversed the message and gets “A-X-O-L-O-T-L my time has come to burn i invoke the ancient power that i may return!”
Even after all these years, Bill's death still hits just as hard as it did. Phenomenally staged and worked out scene and a worthy end to such a ravenous, phenomenal villain as Bill. The music absolutely does the scene justice too.
Stan's ability to move so effortlessly in 0G shows he has an almost instinctual understanding of the physics behind it, while the agents around him are practically unable to do anything. Couple that with his ability to decipher Ford's writings to operate the portal, Stan is a lot smarter than he seems.
Nobody talks about how badass Stanley actually is. Him killing Bill and him fighting off the zombie horde are both his best moments. Also Stan's hair is all messy when he is fighting, and it makes him look cool as hell.
Actually what said in reverse was: A X O L O T L! My time has come to burn! I invoke the ancient power that I may return! Seriously, he spelled Axolotl whilst speaking in reversed.
@@shadydaemon4178 Well that's what I meant, I know he's saying that whole message in reverse, it just sounds like "Dang it" at the end. Which I find kind of funny
Also by killing the final member of a naturally wiped out species he claimed the rights to say he carried out the genocide of dinosaurs by getting the last one
If there's one thing I learned watching this show, it's that Stan maybe a liar, a cheat, a money grubber and a con man, but the one thing that truly matters to him above all else, is family. And no one can deny that. When push comes to shove, he'll do anything to protect his family.
the final scene alone would make me sigh at most, but that sense of having completed your purpose that the song in the background gives is just overwhelming
Watching this, I noticed all of his scenes being badass literally involve him protecting or doing something for the sake of his family. Despite seeing himself as a failure and below his brother as well as thinking so little of himself, his greatest moments of success come from him caring for his family over everything to the point he'd do the impossible for them. Cuz like in his own words, "Everything he worked for, everything he ever cared about, it was all for his family". 😭😭😭 Honestly this show just gets better and better the more I watch it. I love you Gravity Falls.
All of this is even more impressive when you remember that he’s their GREAT uncle! The wiki says he’s most likely in his 60’s or older! Most people in their physical prime couldn’t do what he does!
Can we talk about how unbelievably JACKED Stan is, He held up 2 children by a rope with 1 hand! Not to mention he also pulled both of them up afterwards, and didn’t even break a sweat
For the context of why he was speaking in backwards: The sing right here on your Time stamp shows Bill siher the evil Dorito dying but saying something in backwards somebody actually reversed it and he actually said” A-X-O-L-O-T-L my time does come to burn I invoke the ancient power that I might return!” What people are saying why did he chance about an axolotl well in the book dipper and Mabel in the time pirates treasure (I think) dipper and Mabel go to space and find a giant axolotl in the sky Dipper ask it a question” what do you know about Bill?” Super sad to the axolotl axolotl replied” 60° that come in threes Watches from within birch trees so his own dimension burn Mrs. home and can’t return says he’s happy he’s a liar blame the arson for the fire if he wants to share the blame he’ll have to unlock my name one way to you about his crime a different form a different time” if you search up” Bill and the axolotl theory” you might see a lot of videos of it I hope this information helps
Is nobody going to talk about 2:27? This man’s perfectly times the gravity anomaly, moves around in 0G like a pro, while also foiling the entire CIA all just to bring his brother back to his dimension
I never understood why after the Grunkle Stan mayor episode Dipper and Mabel still went more towards Ford in likeness and taking sides, also were going against Stanley in whichever way they could.
Why mabel wins: she's the younger version of gruncle stan, who cares more for family than anything else and why he won over bill eventually. His care and dedication for the kids is undeniable so that even dipper agrees and understands why gruncle stan must get the bigger tombstone!
Stan would definitely be a chaotic-good fighter/rogue in dnd, going for high intimidation instead stealth so that he can go scream "YOU DON'T SEE ME!" at anything, making it do that exact thing.
