​It's quite simple. Have your landing gear out and point your nose to the horizon (pitch angle). If your speed is not in the red, doing so at 2 KM altitude will give the ship plenty of time to brake. To speed up the VTOL braking process you can activate the space brake. Hope that helps. Addendum: VTOL thrusters are integrated with the Reclaimer. With other ships you might need to separately activate VTOL mode. ​@@dakinepuaa

You're right, I had 480 SCU of construction materials, couldn't sell all of it at HUR-L5. I went to Orison, once you know you have to engage VTOL, take your time and use exterior camera it's really not that hard. And it's right next to Yela. But next time I'll try another planet because it's seems the selling price is lower at Orison.

But you can at least get out of your bed, take the elevator, walk to the tram, then take your ship out, get in another elevator, start up ship, call for ATC, take off and then log out..

It's a good ship, Trading is just not the best income ATM. The hull C is prob best for trading in volume if you can get past the annoying cargo loading gameplay.

@@JAKEL33T the Hull C can only buy and sell at Stations, since it cannot land when extended, but also don't forget that in the (near) future cargo loading would have you do a lot more manually, which is both easier and more time consuming than a Hercules

@@mrbaglog the Starfarer too, I was trying to land at Orison, I kept boosting n boosting and I ended up hooked on the top lip if the hanger sideways 😂 I logged out. Came back, spawned in hab and ship stored.

The trick to the reclaimer is when you get close to landing pad in atmosphere put landing gear down and press k for VTOL also make sure to have all power to thrusters this will keep you from falling down fast you still have to periodically press space bar for VTOL to get some altitude back and then just line up for landing pad and slowly fall into it. On a side note the reclaimer likes to keep forward with VTOL so you will have to take that into account too

This method also works with starfarer and 890j . The 890 being the biggest pita to land in atmosphere

You can keep a Reclaimer “level” anywhere by turning on VTOL and put your nose to zero on the HUD. It will stop every time. Been like this for years. It only falls out of sky if it isn’t level.

Shady? LMAO, sorry but you don't seem very well informed. Chris Roberts, and his team have done things no other developer has been able to do in the space genre, bar none, like flying across the galaxy, and entering atmosphere of a planet and then landing all done seamlessly, then getting out, and exploring, mining, all with no cutscenes that are in other games and in glorious 4K rendering. Roberts only downfall is being too much of a perfectionist, and that's why the game has been in development for 11 years, more developers should release games when they are done, and content heavy, and not the condition most are released today. As @SpaceDad42 said, you missed a lot of good times, and one hell of a ride...
