A revamp would be nice considering how the last model wasn’t entirely movie/tv show accurate. Thanks to Alternative Bricks I modded my Venator to make it more accurate to how it’s portrayed on screen.
I'd say that overall, the first order star destroyer is the best. It has a good selection of minifigs, a nice exterior, a fabulous interior, and plenty of play features inside.
We really need a venator remake, this one was ok but it was to....fat? bulky? I'd like to see a more flat venator with micro fighters/figures like the heli-carrier had. I wouln't mind if they made it a UCS Set as long as there were sliding hanger doors
@@t-builds9410 I guess the inside could be better. Honestly It's probably only because I love the clone wars. The minifigs are good in my opinion I bought it in Lepin because lego cost 500$ and I didn't get palpatine's hair
Venator wins no matter what hands down best starwars ship ever but sadly the set isn’t the most accurate set in the world oh and also WHY NO VENATOR REMAKE GIVE US A NEW VENATROR SET
Oh man so many good memories looking back at the ‘06 Star Destroyer. Seeing it compared to the newer ones, it’s actually standing up for its time and I’m really happy to see it. Great video btw 👍
Thank you very much for the video review. My choices for best: Exterior: Imperial Star Destroyer 75055 Interior: First Order Star Destroyer 1416 Uniqueness: Venator Star Destroyer 1170 Engines: First Order Star Destroyer 1416 Lego figures: Imperial Star Destroyer 75055
Great video. My favorite of the ships would have to be either the 2006 Star Destroyer or 2009 Venator. I remember having so many fond memories of playing with both of the back in the day. I actually had bought the Star Destroyer at Target for 50% off back in 2007 which was a great deal. I really like the exterior of the 2014 Star Destroyer and personally feel that is the most accurate. The only problem I have with that is the fact it is a little too small. I wish Lego would release a Star Destroyer that is the size of the 2006 one, but looks like the 2014 one.
It's function is technicly something completely diffrent! It's actually a support cruiser/ carrier! I mean didn't you wonder why it has so many fighters on board (over 400 (including LAATs)) and just 8 heavy turrets in contrast to the over 60 Turbolasers on an Imperial Class Star Destroyer? The Republic just used them wrong!
Viktoria Toth hell I was like 7 when I got my 2014 Imperial Star Destroyer, though if you ever get the Executor Class Super Star Destroyer it’s the coolest thing ever, like 3 or 4 times the size of First Order Star destroyer or 2014 Imperial Star Destroyer
Exterior: 2014 Imperial class star destroyer Interior: 2017 Resurgent class FO star destroyer Minifigs: 2014 ISD Play features: actually all of them IMO Most accurate: 2014 Imperial class star destroyer Favourites: 2014 Imperial class star destroyer and 2009 venator class attack cruiser/star destroyer
Darth Vader it's build right, the stormtroopers blocked it from going all the way down, I've crammed 8 stormtroopers in my 2014 destroyer, and you have to sit a a bunch of them down so it fits.
Why most of Clone Wars sets are so bad? Don't get me wrong I love the Venator but why it's like that, it's the same thing with Grevious flag ship (the Malevolence), that thing is small and ugly af I literally watched a tutorial to make the Venator look less... fat? I think it's fat, at least now it's looking better
Exterior, interior, and minifigs all go to FO imo. Playability and engines go to venator cause I had it for a long time. Also can't wait to get the FO destroyer for my bday January 30th!
I am so sad i didnt buy the 2014 imperial star destroyer set :CCC i cant find it anywhere exept ebay but its always used and i dont really believe in the used ones
Exterior: neck and neck with the 2014 star destroyer and first order star destroyer. I have to give it to the 2014 star destroyer because of the movable guns. If the first order star destroyer had similar features instead of the stud shooters, it would win hands down. Interior: first order star destroyer hands down without question. Almost all the space is used up and its used up perfectly. Play features: 2014 star destroyer with the guns, lift hook, and perfect hidden spring loaders. Minifigs: first order star destroyer. I love the prints and designs of the characters. Accuracy: 2014 star destroyer wins hands down. The proportions are spot on, and hey the rear is covered up along with amazing looking engines.
Exterior:2016 version Play features:2014 version interior:2016 version Overall:They are both awesome sets, okay, not one is better then the other. They all have good attributes and things about them. I own the 2016 and I see the 2014 and think how exterior has changed. I got to say though the interior was pretty good on both ships.
@@nitrobladezxl2994 yes, i got it when i was 9 and I was so stupid that i threwed it agains another lego set, and now i cant find the pieces anymore for It, but I really want it back, But i Dont want to pay more then 120$ for It..... because that was the price when it got released problem with that is that lego goes up in value, what should i do??
And it's actually a Star Dreadnought! It's like the Jedi Cruiser which is actually a Star Destroyer (which it actually isn't, in reality it's a Carrier)
Niko Förster so you have to correct people, *correct* ? Well if so, you made a mistake. The Super Star Destroyer/ Super Star Dreadnought, could be multiple ships. There is the Executor class which you guys are referring to, (the one which lego has an official set for) and the Eclipse Class, which is less in length than the Executor, but weighs much more. It also has a less powerful Super Laser like the Death Star has. Anyways I mean the one you all are talking about is officially called as “Executor Class Super Star Dreadnought”.
Only lego star destroyer I own is the 2014 imperial class one, and I'd say it's got the best minifigures, the old 2006 one has the best interior, and I'd say the 2014 also wins best looks for outside.
The 2014 imperial star destroyer has the best exterior, minifigures and the best proportions but the 2017 first order star destroyer has the best interior
2014: Wins for best exterior and best engines (honorable mention to best SINGLE minifigs with the hologram emperor) First Order: wins for best interior Venator: wins for best minifigs and easily wins best play features Personally I think the 2006 version actually has an ugly exterior, the engines are cool but the area around is exposed, the interior is choppy, and the minifigs are cool but bland. So I’m gonna say it wins nothing. Given it was made in 2006 so LEGO was still not refined as it is today.
Got to admit, I've never been a fan of how LEGO slices the bottom off of their play scale star destroyers. I get why they do it, so you can actually put the set down and have it sit nicely, but it ruins the look from the back, and you don't get a hanger to play with.
Wait so what was your definitive list from 1st to 4th best overall? I saw the whole vid, but maybe I missed it somehow. Excellent review overall of course and I liked how you even gave points to the 2014 one for accuracy when it looked like nothing was going its way.
The Venator needs a hangar instead of Palpatine’s office. I don’t think Palpatine ever had an office in a Venator, and the ship is made to be a carrier.
Overall, the first star destroyer is bigger, and I think is a frame for more detail, and you being able to mod it with all the space it could become superior to a modded 2024 Star destroyer. I don’t like the other two though because they are extremely inaccurate even if they have good details and are fun to play with.
Really wish Lego would remake the venator just not a nice looking set short and fat they could of done it so much better I have the original and size wise it’s a beast and the first order which I love inside and out it’s awesome
Exterior: 75055 (2014) Interior: 75190 (2017) Play features: 75055 (2014) Minifigures: 75055 (2014) since new Vader and incredible new stormtroopers. Accuracy: toss up between 75055 (2014) and 75190 (2017) but I think the 2014 is a bit more accurate since the First Order Star Destroyer should be gappier.
If I got the Venator, I would -Add exterior paneling to fill in the gaps -Remake Palpatine's office into clone barracks + one of the hallways you always see in the Clone Wars (the long white ones) -Instead of having all the hanger space be for that weird missile-storage thing (11:20), I would have a micro-fighter style Y-wing or something. -Instead of two senate commandos, I would want two clones, instead of a gunner I would want a clone commander (maybe one they haven't done in phase 1 yet, like Commander Bly. Instead of Palpatine, I would want a Jedi (maybe Aayla Secura if the commander is Bly).
I like the Venator the best due the the colours and exterior details. Not a fan of the bridge design and the clear fluro guns on the 2006. Second place for me is the 2014 ISD as the bridge and overall design is more accurate although lacking details. I guess I could give the first order SD a tie in second place but I always preference any of the ship's for the original trilogy. Comments based on exterior only.
My favorite has to go to the 2006 version. It has the play features and minifigs imo. I'm also a little bit biased since I'm a OT fanboy so I obviously like the Empire better lol
Exterior: First Order, reason being level of detail and dimensions. Interior: First Order, pretty self explanatory. Playability: Original/Venator, again self explanatory. Minifigs: 2014 and First Order, level of detail is again very nice. HOWEVER, my favorite is hands down 2014.
