Bought new Firestar M45 sometime in 1995. Fired 34 rounds through it and been sitting in the drawer ever since. Still have the original box and all the documents and that first and only box of ammo. All I remember is that it was really nice to shoot since it's so heavy.

Yeah I know what you mean. Most the guns I own I have shot only once. Hope you can practice with it in the future. They are really fun, but for fun, nothing like 22 LR pistols and rifles! :) take care brother.

The oversized controls made me fall in love with it. It took a while to remove the creep, shorten the reset but I love it !

Great gun. I have the Fire star M45 In 45 caliber. Great, little pistol, really accurate. I had to qualify for my concealed. Carry permit with that gun and it shot all in the 9 and 10 ring 50 shots. At 3 yd, 7 yd and 15 yd. On a man sized silhouette target. It's a little heavy, but it helps with the recoil. Mine is also in the Starvel finish as yours. Also, mine only has a 7 round magazine with the pinky extension. That's factory. Hang on to that little pistol. They're hard to find. They're hard to come by right now and don't dry fire it too often. It's not good for the firing pin. And you'll never find any parts for it.

thanks, I will keep it. I really like this one but all of my firearms are safe queens.How long ago did you get your ccw? Did anyone give you a look when you took this baby out and ask what it was? :) everyone else with glocks lol

@leotesting Yes, the instructor Also wanted to shoot the pistol. He had never seen one before. He also liked the way it shot. He said the same thing. It was a little heavy, but it helps with the recoil. Mine is a little more compact than the Plus. I've had the pistol since 1995 and I bought a brand new. I just had to get my concealed carry cause I live in Texas and I had to qualify. I also call the Glock's toy guns because, They're all just plastic Also for carry holsters. I always look for a holster. That's made for a 4 in colt officer or defender

@@mex-8073 so any Officer or Defender holster fits the M45?
@mex-8073
@mex-8073 Месяц назад
@ramirordz21 That's what I found is the colt officer which is very old now or the colt defender to replace the colt officer. Any of them with the 3.5 or 4 inch barrel. I even have a fobus universal right hand that has the lock on the trigger guard. That's an outside the waistband paddle.

I got mine for 400 from sds guns used. I don't know if that is good or too high but I really wanted one in my collection since I did not had a star pistol. Meybe you can find a better deal that what I did.

I've had the seven round version for over 30 years, great little carry gun. The magazine disconnect is easily defeated once the grips are removed, it becomes apparent how to defeat it .

Back in the 1980s and early 90s everybody I knew that bought one of these guns it turned out to be a really piece or crap. Thats why Star is no longer in business as far as I know.
@txoilfield
@txoilfield 9 месяцев назад
You were given false info. Star Bonifacio Echeverria went under because of the 1994 Assault Weapon ban and thge mag limits imposed at that time. They had invested heavily in the Model 28/30 for military and police duty use but lost out in the Nato trials, and that was the time Glock began to gobble up the police market. Star were always very well built, quality handguns.

@@txoilfield I new people who actually purchase these including my uncle who bought a fire star 9mm and they were a really peice of crap with cracked frames.

Bad examples can happen with ANY manufactured product. I own several Star pistols and have for many years-no issues. I can reccomend Antaris' masterful book on Star handguns for timelines and production data. I'm sorry you have such animosity toward the brand.@@Ray-vq2jc

@@davidmarkwald450 All I can tell you is that people I knew back in the 1980s had problems with them like cracked frames and receivers.
