these roles are pretty much what strickly modifies the A.I. of each character when not in use otherwise they would be chaotic without the concept of roles
I also wonder about stacking with roles, because with items the effects do not stack. So 10% chance of absorb ice damage and 5% chance of absorb ice damage appears to translate into one 10% chance and one 5% chance instead of a single 15% chance - though we would need someone from tri-Ace to confirm or deny to be sure (good luck with that one!). With roles, it's even less clear.
another great video. the only issue with rules is that to fully utilize rolled you need to change them almost every now like you said in previous video. but thanks always nice hearing strategy from the master. I've taken a hiatus on my platinum goal due to the last of the joke weapons being a pain. (welchs stick, and squirt gun). buy I'm going to marathon your let's play soon. I control the tank and give berserker to someone else because when I controlled the berserker character they died a lot before I could even attack. Victor is a better tank apparently but if you control Victor then at the start of every battle there's a short delay while it switches from Fidel. Even though the game does the automatically I found this kind of annoying (it wouldnt take any longer to switch manually) so I just go with Fidel as tank Since I am not endgame yet I run Instigator Guardian Chevalier Ace on the tank. I'm not actually sure how useful ace is but it supposedly helps to increase the rush gauge.
I find it odd you don't use Instigator on your tank. there's no need to build someone in all defense when they aren't locking the enemy onto them. I use it with the role that make them use more battle skills and god slayer on Victor with him ONLY using Bloodstorm Revolution since he'll not be displaced and it's even better since you get super armor in the middle of any art.
I'm a little late to the party on this video... One note I would make is that you could include Emissary of the Blue Sphere or Moonlight Emmisary for a lot of extra damage on Fidel, Anne, Victor, or Emmerson depending on their weapons. I would also take Item Expender on Relia (probably drop War God). The ability to use items with no cooldown is just silly.
Thanks for the tip! I would have mentioned Item Expender, but at the time i made this video i had not unlocked it yet. I just love the vast amount of options you have at your disposal in this game. It's a shame this game didn't have a better story, because the amount depth and immersion into the battle system is amazing.
Great Vid! However, how do you get the Poltroon for Miki? I am in Chapter 11 and still cannot obtain this role. I do not know how to initiate the "group private actions"... any ideas?
Walk near the window on the space ship in the transport room. It activate random private actions. When you get the scary dream PA it'll unlock poltroon
FinalCUT25 what you've been told is correct. It should be in the defensive roles, double check for it, if not then you're on the bad end of a glitch. :/
The one thing that annoys me is that if you play as someone else instead of Fidel there's a "bug" which locks the character outside of the battle zone and you escape before you can get inside it. It's because the game auto defaults back to Fidel as leader. Yeah its cool you don't have to switch manually at the start but infuriating if the game gives you an escape and you couldn't prevent it
@@tusanity it's for this reason alone I just made Fidel tank and used him because there is no disconnect at the start of the battle. I have no clue why the battle area is so small that when it auto switches characters it forces an escape
There an option when starting battles I’m on ps4, I don’t know if this is on any other system but if you press x Fidel attacks and you temporarily control him if you press o then your whole party attacks and you immediately switch to the charro you had before it helps to prevent the spawning out of the arena situation because they’re already getting into position.
@@AsuriaMin don't know of any such option. If I go back to the game I'll look for it but I'm playing SO1 now. I played SO5 for 100 hours really enjoyed it
+Saito Hiraga I don't think you can, the chapters are listed in the strategy guide. But just go after you get a new ship and get Relia back. You should be able to get the role then
Stephen Mills I did not forget about lightning strike, it's unnecessary when her INT is 9999. Same with berserker, no need if you can get your attack maxed with your weapons or with other means that don't lower your DEF to 0. Skulker and Instigator are great roles, I didn't forget about them. I just feel the benefits of the other roles outweigh them.
Not a fan of lightning strike for the MEN boost because my elemental resistances are either maxed or close too. And I could have put berserker on Anne, I just chose not to. But everything is a toss up to your preferred battle style. This is a overall setup that works for generally any battle, and works for the way I play the game. I could put skulked and instigator on, and roll with that because it will work great. I didn't really want to make this video because there is so many different ways to setup your roles, and they all work. It's really just a matter of preference.
I get that however my point is that those are significant roles that are worth mentioning. Plus you mentioned whirlwind which is the melee equivalent of lightning strike.
