A lot of the ponys do have very similar gaits, dartmoor, haffys and exmoor all probably have all similar gaits, as you said ppl need to realise a lot of horses have same postured gaits

Except if you put an actual Dartmoor next to an actual halflinger, you can tell the difference and they don't look alike at all.

@@angustheterrible3149 that'd probably be because the haflingers ingame are incorrect. They should be bigger than the dartmoors except it's the other way around. If you really think they recycled the animations and bodies then you know nothing about animation

Must be hard for the team to come up with new animations for every horse since horses kinda moves similar to each other. It’s just so much you can do differently and I think they are doing a really good job at that, tbh ☺️ I don’t know any other horse game that comes up with different animations for every breed like sso does?

Yeah, I think if the horses were cheaper they wouldn't have people complaining about it. When gen 2 came out we still yelled at them for just using the same animations. Other wise the price needs to come down.

These are really nice animations. I’ve always thought the paint, the arabian and the haflinger have the nicest anims. No objection at all to them being reused.

Halflinger is more collected and Dartmoor is more extended. They move similar irl so I have no complaints 🤷‍♀️

the animations are obviously different and thus redone if you look for more than just a second. theres really only so many ways that horses of the same build can move. tbh id probably go insane if i had to animate the same thing over and over again LOL. the only animation that caught me off guard was the idle where it tips its head down but its really cute so i cant really be mad haha

Tbh yes they are similar but in some gaits you can tell them apart almost instantly. And I’m real life they look similar as well so if some of the community calm the funions down and look at irl reverences then they would realize they did a fantastic job in them because both breeds are so similar irl.🤦🏼‍♀️

There are also gaited and non-gaited horses. They move very differently non-gaited horses are horses such as quarter horses, thorough breds, and most draft breeds. Whereas horses like Tennessee walkers, fox trotters, and halflingers are gated. They move very differently and naturally move this way. Unfortunately, the horses in this video do not move very similarly to how the actual horses move. They move at a faster speed in general and tend to not lope, canter, or gallop because it is harder. I am not saying they DONT and it is not necessarily uncommon but it isn't as often or as well done as a non-gaited horse. There are many differences that I haven't mentioned such as the headset but just understand, all horses are NOT the same.

I know…I tried to encourage them to look and read my essay with added drawings and pictures I created but they just responded saying that they would consider giving the info to the GM team.

they may be horses, but when playing the game, ive for sure thought a Dartmoor was a Haflinger because they look and move very similarly as if they just stole them off the Haflingers like they have done before with other very different horses.

Tbh i like Dartmoor more. Haflinger's head is just so still, Dartmoor pony is more energetic in the animations and i like it sm.

I really don’t think anyone said that all horses are the same 😂 Actually most people said the opposite, but honestly this is a game, and it already has far more variety in horses than any other game that exists. I mentioned in another comment that what really matters is the gameplay, we could have all the variety in realistic horses in the world, but what’s the point of there isn’t anything to do with them?? If SSO spends less time on animating certain breeds and instead makes new quests and areas and activities I would be more than happy. There are more than enough horses in the game right now to keep me happy for years lol it’s almost reaching absurdity with the amount of them in the game (I have like 100 horses by now?) 😅

Well after all they are both horses, all horses have an identical movement, obviously some move slightly different than others but for a breed of animal to be in the same species they must have identical characteristics and traits

i think most people are complaining because the horses are pretty expensive... so if we get a horse that is very similar to another that's a little... not cool for that much money? i don't think people would mind it as much if SSO's main focus wasn't just making as much horses (aka money :D) as possible! but that's just how i see it ^^

I went to see the wild Dartmoor ponies at the national park and there was a dapple grey! there beautiful there is only about 1500 Lef take care of them there were so many foals there and there so tame idk how❤❤

No offense, but if you're such an expert, I'd like to see you identifying horse breeds irl. Horsebreeds are not so diverse, like dog breeds, their structure is mostly the same or very alike. Similar looks of the body=similar looking gaits. There are differences of course if you're comparing a draft horse to a thoroughbred, but with similar looking breeds you should stop expexting wonders and 100% unique features in every detail.

Thing is, thats not the haflinger pony, thats one of the magic ponies :/ Haflingers arent bred to have flaxen chestnut roan coat like in the video

Roan is actually rather common in haffies although it's not a desired trait due to it being considered a color impurity, but it is a natural occuring gene in their bloodline. There's actually quite a few interesting naturally occurring pure blood coats for haflingers, they just aren't bred due to being undesirable, however they are completely naturally occuring and the horses with them are pure bred just considered undesirable colors.

In fact one of the first founding stallions in the breed when it was first started were flecked chestnut ei- chestnut roan, this was just before the first stud book for them was made. After the stud book was made solid chestnuts became more desirable without impurities such as white markings and roaning, however they were and still are present in the breed and stud books.

In real life, Pintabians are literally the same thing as arabians.... So that's normal. And the Dartmoor and Haflinger are still pretty similar irl too, like they're both ponies, and like some people mentionned the Dartmoor is more extented and the Haflinger is more collected here. Do you know that horses irl have almost the same gaits ? And I'm really not part of the people who always defend SSO.
