And probably a reality of interstellar travel. The universe is ancient, and our little world is young in comparison. There are probably things out there the likes of H.P. Lovecraft would not even have imagined. Things vast, timeless, and more horrible than we can possibly imagine.

Only once. That's not something you can fake easily. He really had to psych himself out for this shot to work. You don't blink much when you're dead focused on something that could be a threat.
This must be one of the creepiest episodes ever of Star Trek TNG. This particular clip is from episode 'Schisms' of season 6. It originally aired on October 19, 1992. I guess the storyline was largely influenced by the many reports of alien abductions and UFO sightings over the previous few decades up to that point. The following year after this episode aired, The X Files Television Series began.
The way the suspense built up as they described what they remembered and the music leading up to this moment building....it was both terrifying and very well written.
This was a fantastic episode that showed alien abductions could still happen in the 24th century. Disturbing, scary, adrenaline-pumping, and all around classic episode!! I gave it 🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖, 5 out of 5 LLAP!
Yeah saw this at 7 yrs old in a dark living room and that table with the sizzors was ingrained in memory ever since. Although I did not quite understand what I was seeing more until I re-watched the series as an adult.
It's a bit incongruous, perhaps, to have a story about "alien abduction" in a series where contact with extraterrestrial beings is commonplace. Still, this is one of the most effectively creepy television scenes I have ever seen.
I didn't know my mother-in-law's iPhone was connected to the car auto and she started typing...the popping noise coming from the speakers totally reminded me of this! Really freaked me out!
um. It is pretty obvious that the uploader replaced the "clicks" with... something of their own choosing, and didn't make that explicitly clear. I for one am amused.
this is the sound that was played ... remember this was the enterprises computer version of ''clicking'' ,, the aliens clicking did have a different sound but that was in another scene
Yes legit I never knew what was happening to me but I repeated The One scene where the aliens themselves are actually Doing the clicking. so many times i'm ashamed 😢
