Wow, can you imagine if they played this version at the end of the final DS9 episode, there's epic and then there's epic beyond all recognition.

Oh man, that brought back memories of watching DS9 as a kid so many years ago. It's my favorite Trek series for much the same reasons you mentioned. And that's a beautiful metal cover song too.

This made me want to lay bloody siege to Cardassia Prime’s capitol city. Jokes aside, this actually brought a tear to my eye. While TNG was definitely my favorite, DS9 holds a special place in my heart for being grittier than any other Star Trek, and just listening to its theme song while going for a walk made me feel like a hero. It makes me stand a little taller when I’m feeling down. And you, YOU CRAZY BASTARD, YOU MADE IT EVEN BETTER!! Thank you.

Deep Space Nine was, and still is, my all time favorite show, Star Trek or otherwise. I am convinced it contained the best hours of broadcast television I ever witnessed. I don't think I will ever fall in love with a premise, characters, and writing in that way again. Every time I listen to this, I imagine I am watching a new opening credit sequence for a reprisal, that someone who loves the setting and characters has picked up the torch and finagled a sequel series. We'll see the Federation pick itself up and begin to redefine itself after the War. We'll see Bajor and Cardassia taking the first awkward steps toward friendship. We'll see more of Nog's Starfleet career. We'll see Kira leading her people. And we'll see Quark doing everything we love him for. It'll never happen, but it makes me smile every time.

Best Star Trek series! Just about edges past TNG, and in my opinion I feel that Sisko was the best captain. He was pushed to his limits, would have been interesting to see Janeway pushed to hers.

I think this may have killed me, but The Metal WILL live on.

This is so fucking awesome, it feels more postrock/shoe gaze than metal to me, which I prefer generally!. Me and my housemate have just started watching DS9 from the start and we line up this video on my second monitor as we watch the intro and mute the original theme!

RU-vid is full of Reimagining's of TV/Movie themes. Some are great, some are turned off after 15-20 second and some are like this. I'm walking around my house cleaning listening to this one... 2 second in it DS9 - Improved... Thanks.

I really like the melody played by the clean guitar in the intro, especially the quick hammer-on (I *think* it's a hammer-on). And changing the main theme's syncopated rhythm into triplets is an interesting take on it.
