"Wait Jim, if we go in there, we'll die! Do you hear me? The raidiation will kill us! Will you listen to me?! AND WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!!" "I'm openning the door. I'm going in." "That door is there to stop us from getting in there. We'd be DEAD before we make the climb." "You are not making the climb." (Knocks Scotty out and fastens his seatbelt before going in)
Omg whenever I hear that I think the exact same thing. For a long time I couldn't figure out what it reminded me of then a few days ago I realized that's what it was.
I think that I they had done that, it would have been too close to "The Wrath of Khan". One of the reasons to make a reeboot is to get to see things from a different point of view. We have already seen the original Kirk's reaction to the original Spock's death and it would be a bit redundant, so to switch places was, in my opinion, a very good change of pace. Also, Spock's death in the original second film is so iconic and moving, it was probably for the best to not try to top it. I realise that this was a very long awnser to a hypothetical question, and I was not trying to disregard your comment or opinion. And it's been over a year since you wrote your comment, so you are probably occupied by other things then Star Trek at the moment. Unless you are watching it during the pandemic like me. 😄 Hope you and the rest of the people in the comment section has managed to avoid it. Stay safe, stay healthy.
I love this soundtrack, but plot wise, I didn't like Into Darkness. At least, the end of it. The movie was amazing for the majority, beautifully building up Khan, but Kirk's death on (minus Vengence's crash) was just...bad. First of all, the movie tried to flip the roles of Kirk and Spock at the end, and it is possible to do, but they pretty much say the same things that are said in Star Trek II, and the fact that Kirk was revived ten minutes after we see him die. Spock had an entire movie, Kirk had ten minutes. The movie fell apart at the end, but it's, without a doubt my favorite soundtrack
