Star Trek: Klingon (PC Game 1996 by Simon & Schuster Interactive)

A conversion of the main video track to the game Star Trek Klingon. There are no Alt or Fail vids shown. A proper Longplay video showing full gameplay will come later. There are plenty of familiar Star Trek veterans in this game playing characters you may not have seen before.
It looks abit rough as the source video is in Duck:Trumotion, 320x200 15fps format.
Directed by Jonathan Frakes best known as "Commander T Riker".
Starring Robert O'Reilly as Gowron "Leader of the Klingon High Council".

How about a brainwash program teaching you to be a good Romulan officer putting you in various tests fighting the Federation. But you are actually a captured human so the POV makes sense for us. Then the Federation rescues you at end if you pick right.

@girlgarde 9 лет назад
+crashoverride1000 Yeah, it's too bad that the Klingon militants drove him to attack the Cardassians, break the Alliance with the Federation, banish Worf AND go to war with the Federation /for a time/. It's also a shame that he later went nuts and put the Empire at risk to try and destroy Martok which forced Worf to have to kill him.......
@dragblacker557
@dragblacker557 9 лет назад
+ryan macdonald I never liked what he did to Worf in DS9. I don't mind the two of them becoming rivals and eventually fighting to the death, but to rehash the Sins of the Father plot from TNG (where Worf is dishonored), and especially Worf erasing his brother's memory, was a bad route to go. Gowron in this game seems closer to TNG Gowron than DS9 Gowron.
@girlgarde
@girlgarde 9 лет назад
Dragblacker I never liked what he did to Worf in ds9 either. It WAS a rehash of the Sins of the Father plot from TNG and made Gowron look ungrateful and petty. Also, Gowron giving into the demands of the militants made him look like a spineless coward who only cared about staying in power.
@crashoverride1000
@crashoverride1000 9 лет назад
Yes he had a sleazy side but he was all Klingon. Bad writing to take a good character and waste it with clumsy plot twists.
@girlgarde
@girlgarde 9 лет назад
crashoverride1000 Agreed. The DS9 writers screwed up Gowron's character. Even IF the Founder disguised as Martok was urging Gowron to fight the Federation, it isn't like the militants hadn't always been pressuring Gowron to attack the Federation so he could've said "No, we need allies to fight the Dominion, we just need to show them the severity of the Dominion threat is all..." or something along those lines. Also, they could've had the Klingons fight the Cardassians without breaking the alliance between the Klingons and the Federation. In STO, the Klingons and the Gorn were at war without the UFP/Klingon alliance breaking for a few years and since there was only 18 months between the Klingon invasion of Cardassia and the Cardassians joining the Dominion, the Alliance could've held with some major tension. About Gowron being sleazy, it was part of his charm as a character. He lived life to the fullest like a true Klingon. If he had to be killed off, he should've died gloriously in battle while doing something to hurt the Dominion in a BIG way. Then Martok succeeds him and continues the fight against the Dominion.

I think they would have trouble justifying the money for the game. A star Trek game wouldn't have enough buyers. You would need at least a million units sold, probably more. DS9 was not that popular with the general TV audieence and it was a syndicated show that also would limit viewership and the all-important ratings.

I'm watching this 28 years after TNG's run and I love this production and story line. It's like a barn find of an unaired episode of TNG. Awesome. Also, I just found Star Trek: Borg on this here 'Tube, and I'll certainly enjoy that in the same vein!

I had the Borg FMV game back in the day, but not this one. Thx for the upload. So cool to see all those familiar faces again. Especially J.G. Hertzler. Was this his first time as a Klingon? Also: man, Klingons sure like their songs, don't they?

I had and completed both this and the Borg one, without cheating, I even saw the bits where I got stuff wrong on Klingon, quite scary when Gowron is shouting at you for getting it wrong, lol.

"Klingons sure like their songs, don't they?" I actually came here because of the DS9 Season 5 "Soldiers of the Empire" episode that I just recently rewatched. One of the trivia notes on the Amazon stream mentioned that the song they are singing after the Jem'Hadar battle at the end of the episode actually originated from this game, so the producers definitely consider this game as official Star Trek canon ;)

+Emperor Angelos I wish that they'd make a Cardassian game like this with Dukat too or perhaps a Romulan one with a Romulan character or maybe a Ferengi one with Quark. I imagine Quark would be eager to be a part of a project like that because he'd make a lot of money off of it AND could show that his people aren't nearly as bad as most people think they are.

You can tell how early this was because they're grub worms are pink and their blood is also pink and when you see in DS9 they don't look like that... Also the rite of passage was a lot different as well and like I said it's early days you can tell when they hadn't quite fiddled and fixed how they wanted things... But this still is so very entertaining to watch. J.G. Hertzler as one of the older Klingons is fantastic in the part he plays an old man in this one very very well I recognize other actors as well but not by name and they're all playing this really really well.

This was a pretty interesting and unique fmv experience. It is such shame it wasn't a 2 part episode on tng or ds9. They could have easily put Worf in the position of the player and had him lamenting his experience with real Klingons versus the holographic fantasy he made.
