After the explosion of the first battle station, the cost was so astronomical that Palpatine's Red Guards jokingly referred to it as the Debt Star. They were subsequently... *ahem*... removed from their posts and replaced.

Having seen in a theater when I was 10, the original cut that was edited/unfinished with Biggs at the beginning, the second time I saw the cut movie a couple months later I was baffled and confused as to "what happened to all the story leading up to us giving a shit about this dude? why is luke unhappy- oh - oh yeah there was that guy!" as a kid I didn't realize that movies could be cut or redistributed. so RIP that story arc indeed.

I grew up always watching the official version so I always found Luke's moment of sorrow after Biggs dies so odd, that was until the late 90s internet came around and I learned about the cut scenes!
