I actually felt a bit of hype like Vader was shown there as a foreshadow to Kylo future development that serves to show he's just as component villian. Too bad that isn't the actual case.

No star wars trilogy has organic development. Its hard to show it in 3 movies. Thats why the prequels just cut into anakin being trained and the ot spends like 5 seconds on it

@@zain6008 eh sort of. The prequels use a 10ish year time skip to imply the training took place. The OT shows training with Yoda and when he goes to leave and fight Vader it's specifically told to Luke that he hasn't finished training and doesn't stand a chance which is then shown as Vader defeats him handily. After that they use a time skip of presumably a few months to a year between Empire and Jedi which lets be real, after the ass whooping he just got handed in the last movie you know he was training during that time which is then shown during the Jabba thing. The sequels though didn't bother to do any of this they just had her pick up a lightsaber and win against someone who had trained pretty much since boyhood.

If you tell me she doesn't improve between Force Awakens and The Last Jedi hate is blinding you my friend. Plus people bitching about growth when a farm boy invades the ultimate Empire base and blasts the impossible spot with a vehicle he has never touched before in his life. He's a wonder kid and so is Rey just like most Shonen characters that overcome bad situations with a secret talent hidden in them.

They got a new galaxy of adventures with kylo ren going HAM on a bunch of resistance that was never in the movies unfortunately. He should make another anime intro with that footage

In my opinion it's even worst than TLJ: At least TLJ tried to have a story and something to say (even if it was all noxious morale, depressing issues, and female patronizing the heroes), while TFa was just one big 2h trailer telling us nothing, giving no set at all, and wasting one of the 3 films that shoudl have gave us a proper intro (meaning telling us the reason why Luke vanished away, which would have tremendously helped moving the story in ep VIII...)

G Ren Ok. Dude. First of all, don’t base how good a movie is on the ratings. Watch it. Second, I’m fine with you liking them. I personally enjoyed them too. But they completely screwed up, a lot. A few examples: Phasma was completely underutilized, and despite being a representation of Finn’s character arc, gets killed off unceremoniously. Same with the Knights of Ren. That was just disappointing. But what actually pissed me off a bit, was Palpatine. It was said over and over Anakin would bring balance to the force, and he sacrificed himself to defeat the emperor. But according to the new trilogy, nope! Nothing the Rebellion, or Luke, or Yoda or anyone did actually mattered, because Palpatine comes back with a whole new empire and even more Death Stars! That’s something that got overused too, the whole “but we have more superweapons” thing. I’m just saying, there are plenty of flaws, that prevent me from saying the movies are really good. Also we got Duel of the Fates and Battle of the Heroes from the prequels, and that makes it all worth it. Except you Attack of the Clones, except you. You sucked: we all know it.

Thomas Johnson I didn’t like either in the sequel trilogy. To me, Kylo felt like a whiny brat of a villain, and the reason Luke was a hermit is stupid.

The joke where Luke was messing with Rey with a piece of grass gave her more of a personality than the entire rest of the trilogy.

@@minervaangeles4098 TLJ was the best one to me. Or more like the least terrible. There were some super weird choices in it and some useless parts, but at least it tried to be surprising (who saw the deaths of Snoke and Luke coming ?) and is the only one in the trilogy that at least has something to tell (when the movie talks about war economy for example, even if it's just 30 seconds it's there). And there were some very nice moments like the lightspeed explosion, the scene when Kylo and Rey fight together against the guards, Luke facing Kylo's army, stuff like that. So even if Luke was handled terribly, the character development was very clunky and there were many useless scenes and incoherences, at least they tried something. Which TFA and ROTS didn't.

Rian Johnson wanted to "subvert" Expectations, which seemingly meant he wanted to do everything in the exact Opposit Way, even if that didn't make Sense. I still have to remember his Card with: "Your Snoke Theories suck!" He wanted this Mess, he wanted to divide the Fan Base. TLJ and ROS are Bad in many Ways. TFA showed Potential which got crushed in TLJ and burried in ROS. I don't say TFA was good either. It was passable. I have written down many Times what the Problems of this Trilogy are and if you want to hear some I'll gladly do it again because the most Fun I have about the ST is to discuss it. Because it is so Bad. Not only in my Opinion but also in Terms of Writing and Movie Quality this is just Bad. The Anime Intro Animation just shows how much could have been done, which is why I and many others are just disappointed on how much Potential was lost. Anyways, anyone reading this to to the End, I wish to you a good Time.

In star wars standards(out of the 9) its meh, ot is great and prequels are bottom barrel trash.

I agree. Even as someone who thought the new trilogy was okay, just fixing certain details could've done a major difference. Examples I can think of: 1. Build up that Palpatine is behind everything from the beginning, with Snoke hinting at his master. And once he dies, Kylo contacts him, with Palpatine revealing his plan to have Rey join them or die. 2. Reveal Reys heritage in Last Jedi. Like, Luke tells her that her grandfather was a great force user, she thinks they were a Jedi, only for her hopes to be shattered when Kylo tells her they were a Sith, and this leaves us to connect the details on who it is. 3. When Rey first starts using the force, she's exhausted at first, but gets better after training with Luke. 4. Luke ran away because he was ashamed, but you could hint that he wanted to return and help his nephew. Hell, maybe hint that he was gonna return before Rey came, and Han's death is what destroys his resolve to help. 5. The Rey Skywalker thing could work if it was handled better. Along with the Palpatine reveal being done earlier, her resolve is to prove she's not like her grandfather, hence renouncing his family name. 6. Cut down the parts with Cantobite, maybe make Lando the code breaker, and the reason for Holdo not telling anyone her plan was because she was afraid of a spy that's helping the First Order track the ship, so she sends the small team of Finn, Rose, Poe and BB-8 to find a way to stop the tracking, but they get caught. 7. A lightsaber battle between Rey and Palpatine, with all of the spirits of the Jedi and Sith surrounding them. 8. Rose says her reason for saving Finn isn't for love, but because his death wouldn't have mattered. She saved him so he can continue fighting and not die in vain. In my opinion, this is stuff that could've fixed so many problems with the new trilogy.

@@bryanegelhoffsanimationtec257 This would've made Rey's arc a whole lot better, however I feel you'd still need to do some more significant restructuring of the latter two movies to help prop up the Reylopatine triad into more than just awesome scenes interspersed with mostly really bad filler. I liked your idea behind the Canto Bite stuff, but I think another thing to help with TLJ would've been for Luke to drop the lightsaber, or pass it back to her in shame; in this scene he didn't cut himself off from the force, but the death of Han by Kylo caused him to fall deeper into his depressive slump that she'd have to help him out of. Also, take out the whole hyperspace ram thing, it doesn't fit within the continuity shown anywhere within Star Wars aside from a very few instances within the (really) old stuff, and have it instead be a heroic sacrifice where the Raddus is used to ram the Supremacy at sublight speed, while the rest of the Resistance get away on small CR-90 corvettes (which would be far significantly faster than the Raddus in the first place) only for that to fail when the now Supreme Ruler that is Kylo shoots them down onto the planet, leading to the events of Rose saving Finn because his death would've been pointless, and Luke doing his fanciful force projection trick to delay Kylo Ren long enough for the Resistance remnants to escape on the Millenium Falcon... except this time, he doesn't die in the attempt. TROS could then start with him assisting her in her training, helping refine her style from the brutish, unrefined baseball bat swings of a newbie into a refined, graceful style in Form 6, which emphasizes creativity in combat, something I harken Rey would be quite adept at when considering her background on Jakku as a scavenger/salvager

To be honest the whole trilogy would have been better if Finn was the main character. Think of it. Someone who escaped from the first order and is now looked upon as a traitor now becomes a great jedi. And his development was good in force awakens. He got destroyed by Kylo but in the second movie he would train with Luke to learn the force. Then in his final battle he faces Captain Phasma and wrecks her. And in the last movie he faces Kylo. Idk but to me seeing Finn as a Jedi would have been better.

Rey's syle is called "Really bad Form I", and the one time Rey and Kylo have a genuine duel, Kylo kicks her ass for most of it. That one duel was probably the only good part of Episode IX.
