This is actually a good game. Can't see why lot of people didn't like it. Im about to reinstall it check it out ever since Battlefront collection failed.

I've been playing hell drivers , checked twitch and saw a Star wars battlefront 2 classic with my twitch prime. Ended up getting Xbox game pass since it includes ea play and the library is flipping huge . Got this game downloading so my son and I can play on pc

When it launched it had some of the absolute worst and most predatory microtransactions in gaming history to where European countries started regulating loot boxes and ultimately declared them a form of gambling and since the game is for "kids" this ultimately got EA to change everything. It wasn't even just cosmetic stuff either it was things that would give you an advantage on other players so it was pay to win as well. To anyone who is thinking of picking up this game now on PC you're getting back in at just the right time because the modded servers Kyber 2.0 are about to launch and will be adding things like dedicated servers, proximity chat, spectator mode, new maps etc. it's going to be a damn good time!

Still a mad online game in 2024 hope it keeps going strong and they just keep upgrading the graphics and servers. Amazing game

It's my all time favourite Star Wars game and one of my favourite games in general. EA really shot themselves in the foot with the launch of the game. It got turned around in the end, but lost a lot of it's playbase. If EA hadn't fumbled the launch, we'd be in a much better place, right now. Whilst I did really enjoy the multiplayer on this game, the addition of the co-op mode is what truly made me love this game.

Did you know, at least on PlayStation, that the Arcade Starfighter onslaught mode broke after an update in 2018. People asked for 3 years before EA Dice responded, showing no accountability for their mistake, saying that they don’t support the game anymore & weren’t doing any more updates! It’s now been 6 years & it’s still broken! You can shoot down a few fighters & it suddenly stops spawning them & you can never finish it! Support the game or not, something that significant needs to be fixed! They’re no better than Aspyr! Other than not having a good single player mode for starfighter battles, the gameplay was great, but now we have one less way to play it, broken by the same people who made it & refuse to fix it!

They should do something like helldivers but let us pick our factions and allow us to make a custom character under a rough class outline like in an RPG. I wanna build a squad of deatg troopers, phase 0 dark troopers, phase 3 dark troopers and shadow troopers. Come on lets get battlefront 3 with massive battles please

GIMME REPUBLIC COMMANDO DARN IT!!

Man, BF2 had such a crazy history. Everyone and their mother knows how bad launch was, nobody needs a recap on that, but I feel like the broader gaming community never realized how good the game got. After launch, when the prequel era content started getting added, BF2 was in an amazing place. There really was a year of support that felt like the game's golden age. Adding new heroes, units, maps, and especially the Capital Supremacy mode both captured the nostalgic feel of the original games while giving players the best modern Star Wars video game experience. Update after update of great new features really kept the community happy. Those who stuck around after the launch disaster were really rewarded. A lot of players even came back to the game and stayed until the end. But it wasn't enough apparently. Despite having a *very* healthy active player count and supposedly a ton of new content in development, support for BF2 was shockingly cut short. No one expected it. Some fun new content had just been added and there were rumors of more to come, and then in a single reddit post the game went from its peak to its death. To this day, I frequently hear buddies talk about how much they miss BF2 and how perfect a BF3 would be. There's never been another game like it for me, and it's been heartbreaking to see the population die out. Every so often I redownload the game and try to play it, but unless you're playing at peak hours, most games have extremely long wait times. You load into an empty lobby and sit and wait, and then 70% of players who load into your lobby leave once they realize there's no one there. If you're very patient, you can get a game of Capital Supremacy or Galactic Conquest; but if you want to play something like Blast or Ewok Hunt, you're gonna need to fill a lobby with your own group of friends. If BF2 got an update to allow crossplatform matchmaking, that'd definitely help the population a lot, but without new content this game will never come anywhere close to what it used to be. And with the ridiculous amount of announced-and-then-canceled Star Wars games, the hopes for a BF3 are still as low as they ever have been.

The gameplay in this game I found to be fun in a very cinematic way? Like when you get to the frontline and there's shots flying you don't even need to be wracking up insane kill counts to have a good time. I wasn't the best at this game really but I'd enjoy how much you feel like you're IN Star Wars. For me it's similar to playing Squad or Hell Let Loose where I'm terrible at the game and die often but it's just so damn immersive and scary! Still can't believe the visuals and optimisation achieved by DICE in BF2 as well. This photogrammatry I want to be standard in like, the next Elder Scrolls or something! Such lush environments and detailed textures.

Ok ill load this back up again. Doesnt sound like we will be getting BF3 ever due to the licensing costs and EA not getting a return on investment.

I bought this game the other day on the PlayStation Store on sale the celebration edtion for £4:19. I must say iam enjoying it plus its killing the time for me before the Classic Collection release 😃

The problem was that we don t accept when it s not top gaming moments like other games. Sometimes it rocks strong. Sometimes it s a movie scene etc.

man, i feel like first person makes it wayy better. I know third person on this game is fun and you can see who you're playing, but first person makes it feel like you're there.

I fucking love this game. I got it on sale for 6 bucks two weeks ago, best 6 bucks I've ever spent. Legitly. It's a real shame about the classic collection, Aspyr really did us dirty. Super unhappy about that. But MY GOD BF2 2017 IS MORE AWESOME THAN EVER. I'm so so so happy it's still alive.

Rip seeing updates in battlefront 2

The only criticism I have with the game now is the star card system. I feel like a regular progression system would be a lot better. It's clear that the system was made with loot boxes in mind so without loot boxes it's very flawed as it was made for a different purpose.

I played this game a ton when it released even with recognizing all its flaws and stopped after I had maxed my assault class. I’ve taken it up again and it’s pretty amazing. Many of the flaws are gone. People should get back into it. Also, if you now purchase the celebration edition, you get all the cosmetic unlocks .
