Agreed about the packaging...💯✔ This is the way they should've always been packaged...👌🏼 The boxes are just to much...😖 I always felt bad for the people that collect them and keep them in package, because it just takes up to much space and you can't really hang them on the wall easily...💁♂️ Now this is the proper way they should be packaged...😌 Very much satisfied with this, very perfecto...🧒
A video from you plus an upload from O.O.K. to his birthday - he reviewing Obi-Wan and you reviewing Bossk - coincidence? Awesome Tuesday I say! Thanks for sharing and congrats to this nice figure! Cheers! 🍻
The Relby-v10 mortar gun, also known as the Relby V-10 Grenade Launcher, was a model of blaster rifle/grenade launcher that was used by the Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk. It was also used by Bossk's father, Cradossk.
Today I bought this black series figure over IG-88 and pilot Luke Skywalker. It was 100% worth it and I love the bounty hunter! I now own the vintage Bossk and this Bossk!
Great review and agree on most everything: I collect mainly 6" scale now and very glad to have gotten these archive releases. Still Bossk has issues, not anywhere near as bad as IG-88'm but it's like whoever sculpted him did it using erroneous stats from some web dictionary instead of how he looked in the film! At times he looks like his body is too big and bulky, at other times it looks like just his legs are to thick and long throwing of everything else. His head shape is wrong, with his ears and cranial crest being almost flattened into barely noticeable - this is especially apparent when you compare the 3.75" Bossk (thank you for comparing them as it really shows some of the missteps in the 6" line which should *always* be more detailed, never less!). His arms are too short (or are his legs too long again?) and look almost regular human proportions instead of the proper exaggerated forearms length which has always been one of Bossk's most obvious traits. Instead of the eyesore joint, his feet should have been on ball joints/rocker pegs with joint moved to the claws, preferably using the Figuarts style toe joint to truly allow his foot claws to grasp the edge of the stand/star destroyer platform just like the film! :-) I do appreciate the articulated jaw and mine actually fits on both sides which is nice. Sometimes I think they'd have done better to simply upscale their best 3.75" figure and add articulation, etc. Despite my critique I'm happy to have the figure and overall enjoy it; it's just sad that such a larger scale gets so many things wrong, especially as it's far less likely we'll get a corrected sculpt later on like the 3.75" line (if so, Hasbro would've have corrected the ridiculously inept R2/Astromech sculpt by now, but instead just keep releasing more out of scale, misshapen Astromechs!). At least he's bounds better than IG-88 who looks like he sipped Alice in Wonderlands shrinking potion! :-) Since we know the Black Series is capable of jaw dropping quality, here's hoping they revisit Bossk and especially IG-88 and R2 again dinner than later, or that Figuarts does....just compare their R2-D2 to Hasbro's...wow! - tho the archive series re releases now bring back the much cheaper BS prices, which was at times even more than Figuarts on the Black Series Black Market!
Great fig Tim and nicer packaging than the black series but it will have to be the 3.75 every time , can't see it ever being bettered as it's one of very few thats perfect ! Even the vintage bossk as old as it it has a classic charm 👌
Totally agree Gerard. The VSC Bossk is possibly my favourite modern figure. As for the original, I have one on an ESB card with a clear bubble, It's my pride and joy!
The bubble packaging looks cool but is hard to open then put back looking mint condition due to you having to rip it off. When the black ones you can easily put them in and out.
Thats a valid point - I just dont like the look of the red and black boxes. A lot of people who I see collect them have them displayed sideways with the number showing. Whats the point in that? For me you have to see the figure on a nice card back hanging on the wall or something.
I just bought this figure, and wanted to check YT to see if there was any difference between the Archive and original releases. I had a look at some stills from Empire, to check for general accuracy, and I'd say the colours are very close, and the head is mostly good, but for the nose being slightly too far up his face (he should have more of a snout), and the spikes on his head being a bit soft. The main problem is the forearms, which were extremely elongated in the film, but are just normal length on the Black Series figure. But he's still instantly recognisable, and a fun toy to pose. I think the (very rubbery!) weapon looks better slung over his shoulder than in his hand. Might keep an eye out for a Figuarts version, coz Bossk is my favourite bounty hunter. And maybe one day Hot Toys will make a version (and an IG88) which will go nicely wih my Boba Fett...
I never imagined I would like the 3.75 more than the 6 inch, which is my favorite black series figure, but I picked up a loose saga collection Bossk and I have to admit that I like the 3.75 better. I'm slowly converting to that scale.
This is the way lol. To be fair both Bossk figures are very good. I dunno, I do like the Black Series and I know thee detail especially with human heads is superior. But sometimes I just think a figure looks better in 3.75. The Mandalorian is a great example of where I think the 3.75 inch is better.
Congrats on picking up your namesake Bossk. What a great figure and that packaging is nice. I noticed your packaging has multi language instead of just the one word archive! Great review my friend!
haha I've been waiting for you to do ta review on this fig I slightly disagree about the packaging, I love how the blister packs look but I wish I could remove my figures from them without ruining the package lol. One idea I had lately was for Hasbro to make boxes for black series available separately. That way they could continue to release blister packs and boxes, and collectors could decide how they want to display them. The only thing they'd have to do is change the color scheme to something like black and grey that they use on archive line, so that way no one resold figures as NIB.
Thanks bud. It's difficult to please everyone isnt it. I am not a fan of the boxes but understand where you are coming from when you mention not ruining the packaging. Their way of getting around that is making me buy two! lol - Like I did with Bossk, but Im not going to do that with every figure they release.
Great video! Hey BB do you have the unleashed vinyl statue of Bosk from around 2005 by chance? It looks amazing and it would be a great addition to your Bosk collection, it's an awesome display item
This figure has one of the greatest sins ever, a single hunger elbow that git about a range of 45° maybe less. They absolutely need to re do this figure at least the arms but I think everything else is ok, would be great if they could fix the jaw too though.
My Favorite All Time Star Wars Character Is Han Solo. Bossk Is My All Time Favorite Star Wars Bounty Hunter. Love All Three Of Those Figures U Have Of Him.
I just bought this Bossk and I can’t bear to open him up, I’ll find a loose one I think! If I’m opening them it’s black series, if I’m keeping its card!
4:47 - Hey man, you mentioned different shades of green. I'm trying to figure out what that means, since there's no green on Bossk. Or does brown look like green to you? Now that I'm collecting _a few_ 1/12 Star Wars figures, I kinda want to get them. Everyone I saw back when it was out had horrendous eye paint. Now if Figuarts of Mafex made one, I'd put my pre-order in immediately.
@@BossksBounty Forms of color blindness is a lot more common than most people think, especially in males. Like the whole 'The sky's blue. No, it's purple' thing. Cause some ppl really see purple. I have a friend like that who has trouble with shades of blue. My problem is that some ppl have thought I was blind cause I can't read a sign 15 feet away lol. So even though the figure's a muted dark tan/yellow brown, you do have me curious if there's any green in there. I do figure restorations and touch-ups with acrylics. You really got me wanting to see if I'd need to use something like an English Yew green to match the colour perfectly on this figure.
@@BossksBounty And this reminds me of the classic Gorn. Definitely some similarities between them and that initial "Bossk" mask from the cantina. Not to mention the quintessential reptile is always green...unless they're like grey Killer Croc from BTAS lol.
Mark Curtis I don’t think I’ve ever had my eyesight brought into question before lol but Bossk is green - made even more green in the Clone Wars, the vintage Kenner Bossk is olive green. So I guess it’s natural to call it muddy green. I agree it’s almost a yellowish/brown.
@@BossksBounty Ain't that a bitch. So I just looked that up, and they're officially listed as green 😳. With the V1 Sideshow 1/6 Bossk, I remember touching up some spots on their head and arm, but don't remember using any green paint. 9 out of 10 times I can grab however many paints I need to match it, and mix the right amounts to get it right the first time...and it was several browns, tans and yellows for sure. This is like a pissing contest lol. I'm right - No, you're wrong. The official stats on them don't lie, he's green Have other people said they see them as green? I've just never heard anyone say anything other than brown, besides you and Wookieepedia. With having _extremely_ sharp eyes, as far as detailing analysis; you have me questioning the last 40 years of my life as an artist.
@@BossksBounty Lol😆Luke need s a brand new face sculpt. I hope we see on X wing/ snow speeder Dagobah landing Luke from Empire that's coming. On the original X wing Luke I like the original release better.
Jajajaja que fue con ese Bossk pirateado con la cara de un sapo alíen con las fosas nasales enormes y los brazos más largos que su propio cuerpo de la izquierda 😅😂🤣, pero el black series y el de la derecha están súper cool👍
