The good old days when we had a large diverse variety of star wars games coming out one after another. Before the dark times, before the Empire.

I loved the sixth generation Star Wars games so much. Bounty Hunter, Starfighter, Battlefront, Republic Commando, KOTOR, Revenge of the Sith. I love revisiting those games and remembering my younger days when the prequels were still coming out. What joy.

Man, 1999-2005 was crazy good times for Star Wars videogames!

I remember this game being insanely difficult to beat. The levels were gigantic and went on too long, the controls were a little clunky, the jetpack had virtually no range, and I only ever used the pistols since the pick up weapons were so rare. Not a lot of fond memories, honestly. The game's storyline was good, though.

This was one of my childhood games on the ps2. I never really made it past level 3 or 4, but I had a blast with it. Lots of long lost memories in this game for me

I've probably beaten this game twenty seven times and I never knew you could wrap Komari Vosa with a cable to do easy damage to her. I always just wait until she's done swinging her lightsabers around / blocking until I start firing.

This game is prime fodder for a remake. Update the graphics and renders distance, rerender the cutscenes (the voice work is already there), smooth out the camera (as well the targeting system), redesign the selector (maybe an onscreen pause wheel like the _Ratchet & Clank_ games), maybe even some post-original game levels that follow young Boba starting out in his Dad's profession (with new dialogue by Daniel Logan). Imagine the potential.

I remember meeting Temuera Morrison, Jeremy Bulloch, and Daniel Logan as a kid at Star Wars Celebration 6. Really cool bunch of dudes, they loved my mandalorian costume too lol.

I laughed so hard when I saw the opening surfing on those enemies in a falling animation 🤣

I always thought that if it somehow pinged you when a bounty was in the area you'd know to check and you wouldn't waste time checking every NPC

Aw thanks so much for the shout out. I am just speculating here, but maybe the reason the cut scenes of this era look so good to you, is that they were still pre-rendered. I’d say maybe late 2000s is when they started moving everything to in-engine graphics.

Flying around with the jet pack was fun.

I remember when I played this game on ps2 as a child! I was so young I never saved progress in games because I wasn't sure what it meant if I did (this lasted longer then I care to mention and yes, that meant I only ever played the first few hours of games endlessly for literal years) I know the beginning of this game like the back of my hand and I think the furthest I got back in those days was the city high rise level. Anyways I played through it again a couple years ago and had a blast and finally got to see more then a few hours had so much fun throughout. Except for that level you showed in the beginning...it can rot in the deepest depths of hell

This is my favorite video game of all time. I remember going to the store to buy Vice City but my parents wouldn't let me because of the rating so I ended up buying this absolute masterpiece instead. I can barely put into words how epic and awesome this game is or how much enjoyment I got out of it when my Star Wars fandom was at its peak. I've seen some comments bringing up how long the later levels are as a negative but I think every subsequent level being longer and more difficult than the previous one is how games are supposed to be. I'm still mesmerized by how expansive the levels get, especially in chapters 4 and 5. I know the first 3 chapters like the back of my hand but I still don't think I got every single bounty on Malastare and Tatooine. The second level of chapter 3 is probably my favorite.

Jango Fett is my favorite character in Star Wars so I was hyped af when I got this game as a kid. I remember constantly getting lost and stuck on levels not knowing what to do and eventually giving up on beating it cus the game just wasn’t fun. I would like to try and beat it again now that I’m older and learning stuff from your spot on review tho.

Ah man, I remember renting this as a kid and being completely lost and just returning it for another game. Lol. Played it again recently on an emulator after hearing about it again and I can confirm your 2 biggest enemies are indeed A. The game not telling you where to go. And B. The targeting system. Also if you ever review the jedi knight series like outcast or academy they both also have the same issue of not being clear enough on where to go sometimes. So that's cool. Great games but the level design can be garbage sometimes. (I'd mention Dark Forces 2 but it's a pain to get running properly on modern systems.) I notice that to be a theme with alot of Star Wars adventure games for some reason. The level design I mean. Ranging from great to "Oh my god where am I even going?"

6:10 And that was where, on my first try and after spending 10 minutes in what should have been the first 10 seconds of this game, I dropped it and never played it again. Wonder how many other people had that exact same experience...🤔

Yes, this game has its flaws but, IMO, it's a masterpiece. The story & music score is superb. Like you said, the biggest flaw was the bounty hunting. On later levels, bounties would commit suicide by falling off a cliff or blowing themselves up, which was totally out of your control. The Tusken Canyon Level is very difficult on its own...then to find the last bounty has blown himself up right at the end of a grueling 20 minute fight/progression was so frustrating (almost tears of anger....my next door neighbours must have HATED me! Lol)

I loved this game. I wish it had a sequel with better controls and combat. Also better weapon selection methods. Typed this at the beginning of the video.

I absolutely agree with everything you said about the bounty system. It's completely counter intuitive to the game's core design. The bounties should've been automatically marked every time you see one. Furthermore, they could've had the bounties marked with a different color to better differentiate the ones that are wanted dead or alive. I also think it would've been more interesting if the game had an upgrade system that allows you to spend your credits to extend your health, ammo, jetpack fuel, and increase the power of your weapons. Because it actually would've given more incentive to go after secondary bounties.

It's been a LONG time since I last beat this game but I'm fairly certain you don't need to tie up the final boss to deal damage because I don't remember ever doing that or even thinking to.

I got this game cause my parents got tje battlefront 2015 ps4 with jedi star fighter and this. Thanks for reminding me to play this, I'll come back and watch the video

This game made u earn EVERY single cut scene and I loved it because it was the closest to a boba fett game u were going to get its a shame it didn't get more love because the devs were enjoying they're jobs back then

I'd recommend checking out the Jango Fett: Open Seasons comic. If it seems like this game contains all of Jango's relevant backstory, the comic explains a lot and provides more context for the details included in the game.

When I was kid I enjoyed playing this on repeat there was some levels that got me annoyed but as a kid you just don't care and just have fun with it lol

to be fair, most of the time I used the auto aim lock on was against a single enemy alone, mashing square alone was faster and most effective for me to kill every single soul in the room, with the ocasional flips and rolls. In the last chapter, the flamethrower is the GOAT, 100% Napalm time in space Vietnam swamp And for all it's worth, even if it is a cool idea, the bounty system is crap

I'm sorry, maybe I'm misunderstanding. The ship's name isn't Firespray. It's the ship's model name. So technically, it didn't have a name until Jango gave it one. That's like saying a ship's name is "Acclamator", even though that's the class of the ship and most Acclamator-class ships are given unique names to identify them.

It would be cool to see a next gen vs last gen for the force unleashed games

Ngl, this game would be sick with a remaster with some fixes. Put it in a modern engine, with some raytracing to make Jango's armor look sick and make the levels look detailed and rich, with some additions to level direction. And mabye even put a followup following Boba Fett before the events of Empire Strikes Back.
