Hew Chewy! A big thank you to Mattel for sending me this gorgeous Platinum Label doll who is part of the brand new Star Wars x Barbie: Wave 2 Collection. I'm excited to debox Chewbacca Barbie and check out her high fashion faux fur ensemble as designed by Robert Best.
What an unexpected doll! If anyone can pull off head to toe faux fur, it's Barbie. I'm really enjoying all her little elements. Her big coat and chocolate brown handbag are my favorite pieces. I feel like designing a doll after a hairy Wookiee couldn't have been easy but I'm loving the final results.
This doll is a Platinum Label doll limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide. She's currently available at Barbie.com. If you love her, act fast before she's gone!

The Chewbacca Barbie is a very nice doll. I am in my 60s, and have been collecting dolls for more than 30 years. I really do not prefer articulated dolls, as they remind me of marionette puppets. I prefer the Silkstone Barbies that are "posed" and when I set them on the stands they look like they are participating in a Fashion Show. You do a great job, Suresh, of describing what you see. I agree with you on the fashion. I think the Star Wars re-invention dolls are great!

Great review. I love that bag 😱😍. Her face is so pretty, i like the minimal makeup since she has so much fur. The velcro is deff bad. But I love seeing your reactions to it 🤭🤣. Have a great weekend.

Always enjoy your detailed reviews, I love how flawless her face up looks, really a hit or miss with Barbie dolls lately, even collector, hence why I always make sure to buy my dolls after examining them up close, but so far all the owner pics I've seen of the Star Wars dolls have excellent face paint, I almost feel confident that I could order them online without worrying of receiving a doll with defects, nice!

I have the doll as well but in box! I am a big big big big big big big big big HUGE MIDICHLORIAN COUNT HUGE LEVEL FAN OF STAR WARS. Yes, so this is awesome to see. The bag is also my favorite. Thank you for sharing 😭💕 and also the shade to the velcro is too real 😂😂😂

Those plastic pieces around her thighs its to prevent stains from the dress mattel use to do that sometimes I have some 90s dolls with those things, usually with black dresses

Thank You for the honest review Suresh, I always look for your posts. I totally agree with you the quality of the dolls are disturbing to me. With the first set I cancelled my order of all the dolls and just bought R2D2. After seeing your review and how cheaply Darth Vader was made I was not going to spend that kind of money on all the dolls. Dearth's robe with that big space in the back looked like when I would take remnants of fabric that my mother had lying around and i would dress my dolls up. With this phase of dolls I just purchased Chewbacca and used my 30.00 Platinum reward. I thought she looked cute and bought her because she is supposedly a Barbie Fan Club exclusive Platinum level doll. She did arrive shipped with no outer box, her shipper was creased in and looked like grease spilled on the box, Thankfully Chewbacca's inner box was fine, but really not even a Fragile sticker on the Shipper...Ugh gone are the days with the superior quality from the past so happy I have those dolls.

I wish I could afford the Star Wars Barbie dolls. I've been a fan since '77 but, alas, they are out of my price range. The doll is gorgeous though.

5000 dolls is a huge edition size for an Integrity doll, but for Mattel/Barbie it's pretty small. I remember when Platinum label dolls were limited to 1,000 dolls though. This doll is cute, but I wouldn't spend $150 on it. If I had her, I would definitely add some kind of trim to her coat to disguise that stitching, and I'd swap out the velcro for something more in keeping with the quality of the construction. I think I would try to do something to clean up the tops of the boots, maybe just a simple binding to encase that top raw edge of the fur fabric. Overall I like the look way more than most of the dolls from this collection, I think she works as just a high fashion doll more so than some of the others.

I like her a lot she gorgeous! If it gets to the point that I hate the Velcro so much that I can’t even I’ll see on snaps myself lmao. I think she’s a higher price point than the others not only because of the labor that goes into sewing with faux fur, but also because in my experience good quality faux fur tends to be pretty pricey. I think the whole line in general is a higher price point because of the licensing fees that have to be paid to Disney to have the rights to use the characters. Great video!

She looks great in the box. But when you take her out we see the flaws which you so correctly point out. Like you, I feel that if they could put one snap on the purse then they could’ve stepped up with two on the back of the dress closure. You always show it all and I, for one, appreciate it. Thanks. Thank you for reviewing her! I'm still waiting for mine in the mail, it should come soon. I just had to pick up the last 4 dolls in this collection (I bought the first 3 last year, and I absolutely love them!) This one is a Barbie.com exclusive, so I was very excited to see how she looks out of box. I'm sad to hear that the quality isn't up to par with the pricepoint, but she does look beautiful nonetheless.

I cringe every time I see one of these fully unboxed by other collectors 🙀 I had 3 chewies, kept one for myself. Each time I’m tempted to unbox my set I slap my hand and come to watch your videos instead 😂 ❤ THANK YOU for sacrificing your dolls for us. I am also disappointed she has velcro. It is adult content ... Women wearing furs. You don't need to worry about the kids watching an adult content kid toys because kids don't buy furs; but instead, just but furry looking winter jackets of limited furs. With jacketing off ... She looks like a gorgeous cave woman B.C. style! 😉

She has a beautiful face and her hair is lovely. I don't think the quality of fabrics and workmanship is worth $150 though. It feels like Mattel just wants you to buy her and keep her in the box to look at (which, tbh, probably most people do). But it's like they hope you won't look too closely at her and see that she's not all that. Just my humble opinion.
