Qui Gonn spirit taught Obi Wan to become a force ghost, (at the end of the movie Yoda said to Obi that someone returned from the netherworld of the force). In all those years in solitude in Tatooine Obi Wan learnt it. That´s why he told Vader in episode IV: "if you strike me down, I´ll become more powerful that you can possibly imagine".
You absolutely NAILED the fact that by trying to fix things you create your problems in many cases. This is a main theme of star wars and the eastern philosophical concepts on which it is based
Hayden does such a good job with his facial expressions. I feel like you know exactly what is going through his character's mind just by his facial expression. Those shots of Anakin wrestling with his thoughts and the tears rolling down his cheeks is fantastic. It lets you know he is struggling so much inside that he is unable to hold back the tears. literally giving up his soul for power to save Padme (and fulfill his need to be all powerful).
George Lucas himself said eip 1-6 is about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker, and his eventual redemption at the hands of his son. Now for us older people 4,5,6 seemed more like the rebels vs the empire, but no, we were wrong
reducing his own work to one of its weaker elements in saying that. star wars is so much more than the single character of anakin and it'd be much less for it if that were actually his intention from the start, which it clearly wasn't.
@@jm6406it's more about a family and there friends who help them along the journey obi-wan palpatine and yoda are massive parts of the journey so no and yes
your spot on! Hes actions trying to save padme, are the things that ultimately killed her. Anakins story is heartbreaking when you realise he’s path to the dark side doesn’t stem from greed, but simply fear of standing by and losing padme like he lost he’s mother, Yoda said let go of fear, yoda was right. Fear lost him everything he loved.
Star Wars, the rise fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, who after being redeemed by his son, destroyed the last Sith Lord Darth Sidious, fulfilling the prophecy and bringing balance to the Force.
Its easy to see from our point of view that Palpatine is evil but Anakin has known him for about 13 years+ and saw him as a father and a confidant he could tell secrets he'd never tell any of the jedi, he told him about how he killed the sand ppl to save his mom and other personal stuff but yeah he was being manipulated hardcore for years so it was hard for him to spy on him let alone think he's bad.
Awesome reaction Tynia! Btw, I have such a hard time accepting Padme died of a broken heart or whatever. I like to believe Papa Palpi drained her life energy, possibly to save Anakin. 💖
Everyone telling you not to watch certain things. Just because they didn't like them doesn't mean you won't. I have my suggested order and I'm sure some will disagree but here goes. BBY means Battle Before Yavin; basically Episode IV when Luke destroys the first Death Star Rogue One- Leads into Ep.IV Solo - 10 BBY The Clone Wars 19 BBY(chronological order) Tales of the Jedi The Bad Batch- 17-19 BBY Kenobi 10 BBY Rebels 5 BBY Andor 5 BBY The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2 The Book of Boba Fett The Mandalorian Season 3 Ahsoka There will be people that have their preferred order but that's mine. Definitely watch everything regardless of how you decide to watch them.
Andor(show) and Rogue One(movie) are definitely worth checking out! They both take place between episodes III and IV and depict the rise of the rebellion under the empire. The rest of the newer stuff is hit or miss depending on who you ask but those two are pretty unanimously loved.
46:11 is a moment I won't forget Tynia because I was watching the movie in theaters on opening night and I was so embarrassed by the "No!" I slumped down in my chair, just a cringeworthy moment.
Darth Plagueis the wise and Palpatine "created" life, and that´s why Shmi Skywalker was pregnant with no man. When Palpatine... Darth Plagueis apprentice... had all over control... he murdered his master Plagueis in his sleep.
If you are saying Darth P created Anakin, that’s a common misconception. If you are saying Darth P attempted to create life and the midiclorians created Anakin out of retribution to destroy the Sith, that’s what George Lucas said in an interview.
Gotta admit, Anakin slaughtering the spratists on Mustafar was so damn personal to him as they was the ones that wanted padmé dead. He'd have revelled in their deaths.
Palpatine actually always looked like that he just used the force to alter his appearance and cloak his presence. When he got hit by his own force lightning his appearance went back to "normal"
18:56 well done for picking up on that quite a few people only get 50% of this scene. Also picking up on Palpatine putting the premonitions in his mind too
In my opinion, the Jedi Council pushed Anakin a lot to the dark side. They were afraid of him, and because of that, never trusted or gave him anything of importance... creating more and more insecurity, frustration and doubts on Anakin. On the other side, Palpatine played perfectly a performance to turn him completely (apart of put him those dreams about Padme´s death).
Jedi council did not do anything wrong. They were acting accordingly. Anakin couldn't let go of his fears or anything else that would cause him to go to the dark side. Yoda even tells 9-year-old Anakin that you have too much fear in you. Even Mace Windu tells Anakin that he senses much confusion in him. But that is my take and understanding. Just like my take and understanding on the whole Luke and Leah kisses. Those kisses weren't nothing major. The first one was for good luck because they were about to swing across to avoid the Storm Troopers. The second kiss was to make consolo jealous or mad. The third kiss was out of caring and concerned. Because Luke just got his hand chopped off and was almost going to die. Nothing wrong was done.
Yeah I disagree. The council pushed back whenever Anakin was being an entitled brat. He didn’t have patience, which cost him an arm. And he broke the rules when it served him.
@@louiedavis4909 Jedi Concil was very arrogant and distrustful with Anakin. Jedi exiled Anakin's apprentice. Jedi did much to Anakin move towards the dark side.
The things in the bubble are fish. They are Mon Calamari, the same species as Admiral Ackbar (IT'S A TRAP! guy) and the show is a performance of 'Squid Lake' which is the Star Wars version of the famous play "Swan Lake". And yes, the Chancellor supplied him with the nightmares about his wife AND his hunger for power that he feels a few scenes later. Vader is considered a different person from Anakin, yes. So I guess it is a new identity or persona. Obi-Wan actually cut off 3 limbs, not just his legs. He gets Anakin's remaining flesh arm too. Hiding Luke on Tatooine is a stroke of genius because the planet is a source of immense pain and hatred for Vader, he will never voluntarily step back on it if he can help it. Which coincidentally is reflected in the original trilogy. Tatooine is the only planet/moon in those movies that Vader has a reasonable opportunity to step foot onto and he doesn't do it (Yavin is the other but considering the Moon was scheduled to be blown away by the Death Star and there was a space battle during the attack he doesn't go there), meanwhile in the sequels he steps on Hoth, Bespin and Endor.
I'm really glad you liked this one it's honestly so dang good haha, you should totally watch the rest of the movies! It's honestly up to you which ones you go for next, you could start the sequels or you can watch the spin offs first which are Rogue One and Solo and they take place a lot closer to the original movies. Either way have a good day!
The Sith Code The Jedi Code Peace is a lie, there is only Passion. There is no Emotion, there is Peace. Through Passion, I gain Strength. There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge. Through Strength, I gain Power. There is no Passion, there is Serenity. Through Power, I gain Victory. There is no Chaos, there is Harmony. Through Victory, my chains are broken. There is no Death, there is the Force The Force shall free me.
ORDER: The sequels (7.8.9) are like 25-30 years after ep 6, so before jumping that far ahead, I would check out (in this order)... Between ep 2 and 3: - Clone Wars animated series and animated movie (between ep 2 and 3 - the episodes have a weird order, find the watch list order) Between ep 3 and 4: - Bad Batch animated series - Obi-Wan series - Solo: A Star Wars Story - Rebels animated series - Andor series - Rogue One Between ep 6 and 7: - Mandalorian seasons 1-2 - Book of Boba Fett - Mandalorian season 3 - Ahsoka series Then ep 7-9
You missed out Tales of the Jedi which is a good watch after The Clone Wars. Very short episodes focused around Count Dooku & Ahsoka during the same time period.
This would be a good point in the timeline to insert the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, followed by the two stand-alone movies. If you choose to continue with the Sequel Trilogy, I will be there with you as well. I'm always interested in the opinions of less entrenched fans when it comes to the Sequel Trilogy, I find them to be less biased by prior knowledge of the de-canonized material of the Expanded Universe. (Not to defend any of the legitimate issues against the trilogy's cohesiveness that stem from the writing and planning stages of the project.)
The ultimate backstab indeed. Imagine fighting in a war for years, side by side with fellow soldiers through life and death situations, even making friends with many of them, only to be shot in the back. I imagine their last thoughts were; _"Why?"_ It's hard for the clones too. You don't see it here, but some tried resisting the command, being forced to commit murder against their will.
All Of this could have been avoided if the jedi treated Anakin with affection and respect (and maybe rescued his poor mother) instead of secretly calling him the chosen one but also keeping him at arms length. Outside of Qui Gonn and Obi Wan none of them really cared about him As a person. And that is the perfect situation for a manipulative power hungry politician like Palpatine to take advantage of. I know people hate the Last Jedi but that movie briefly touches on this reality.
There are many that believe that Palpatines face was really disfigured from excessive experimentation with Sith alchemy and used the force to appear normal then waiting for the opportune time to reveal his true form and use it to his advantage in front of Anakin. Palpatine was the master at manipulation planning the entire war playing both sides with his goal for the Sith to take over
@@samwest1097 In the novelization I believe is where they explained this. He was constantly drawing on the dark side to hide his presence and disguise what he truly looked like.
In legends canon, in Disney canon it is cause of the lightning. Just saying cause everyone just says this is canon or that mixing both canons which just confuses people that are trying to get into it.
18:56 your annoyance at Anakin’s gullibility is funny 29:10 I was waiting for your reaction to this moment. Didn’t disappoint 39:44 brilliant! You are perfectly in sync with the moment! 40:01 love the conflict and anxiety you’re feeling about this moment 43:26 such an iconic scene Enjoyed your journey. Hope you continue. Rogue One, the sequels, shows etc. it’s a big commitment so understand if you stick to the movies first.
So to let you know something here, Palpatine wanted anakin to be his apprentice because anakin before he was injured would be in both legends and disney canon the strongest force user in existence for all time had he reached his peak power and training, but when his limbs were cut off he lost alot of midichlorians (microscopic lifeforms that live in the cells that give the jedi and sith their force powers) and became permanently unable to surpass palpatine because he would never be stronger than him without that potential force power he had before being injured. So to ensure he would still be useful until palpatine found someone better he made vaders suit purposely unable to heal vader fully and made it painful and irritating at all times so vader would be a more vengeful and hateful sith lord staying stronger than everyone but palpatine at all times. The only person to defeat vader was Luke, and palpatine wanted him so very much.
A lot of people give Anakin crap over the kids, but consider that he was a slave nearly from birth and knowing roughly what they would go through under the Emperor's "training" if spared he genuinely believed death would be a great mercy; even wishing someone had granted it to his mother and he on some dark days. Death is the only mercy that Darth Vader can give, but the Emperor may force you to live on in a constant sensation of agony, shame, and self-loathing, unsightly and alone for the rest of a life that you are forced to thank him for as you inhale each breath. Darth Plaguis and Darth Vitiate? Those two may force you to live forever, resurrecting you countless times after torturing you to death.
A very different role that you might enjoy Ewan McGregor performing is in the movie Moulin Rouge (2001), opposite Nicole Kidman, who plays the leading female role.
Thats it. The 6 movies is the entirety of Star Wars👍 The Disney stuff isn't good, and a lot of us dont actually consider it Star Wars. Thanks for the reactions.
Watch the movies and Andor. The rest of the shows are kinda alright to miss in my opinion but if they're your thing then they could be good to watch. You might end up becoming a star wars channel though lol.
First, you should start off with "clone wars" micro series.(it's only 2 episodes)It answers a lot of questions, and introduces you to General Grievous and how he got that nasty cough. After that you should do the clown wars series. Keep up the great content. 👍🏿 👍🏿👍🏿 Also..... You are so spot on on so many things. The chancellor did put those visions in anakin's head.
ABSOLUTELY CONTINUE THE STAR WARS JOURNEY ON THIS CHANNEL! Watch the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries right after this! Then, watch Rogue One, it's a tie-in movie that begins the original trilogy and therefore, the entire story Then, get to the sequel trilogy no matter what some may tell you, it's a fun ride and good addition to the saga IGNORE THE HATEFUL COMMENTS you decide what to think Now, for the shows, animation-wise, i recommend you watch the Clone Wars and Rebels on your own time and tell us what you think Live-action wise, the Mandalorian takes place between episodes 6 and 7 and it hits everything out of the park it's one of the most complete parts of the brand After that one, you need to watch another show called the Book of Boba Fett, a story that takes place around the same time as Mandalorian, along with Ahsoka (a character you see in the animated shows mentioned above) These shows will be combined into a movie that will be released in the forseeable future Speaking of Rogue One, there's one more show that's out there I think you'll enjoy, Andor It's a tie-in to the tie-in movie Rogue One; it's about one of the main characters of that movie and it tells how he became involved in the Rebel Alliance It feels different from the original formula but that is what makes the show fresh and engaging; it's more for adults than the ones who are kids-at-heart You have TONS of hours of content to sift through so I hope you'll stay on for more reactions!
this might be unpopular opinion and I might be bit biased because I love Hayden as Anakin but this is by far my favorite Star Wars film ! I like return of the Jedi and empire strikes back but I just can't focus enough to watch them fully.
You will get so many opinions on what to watch next. I will say why I think you should go this route, and I won’t put spoilers: Rogue One, because it’s awesome and it takes place right before IV. Next I would watch the Obi-Wan 6 episode TV show. Why? Because it shows more about the relationship between Obi and Vader, it’s good, and it takes place after Episode III. You could skip 7, 8, and 9 entirely and miss nothing. They are mostly new characters and honestly are really poorly written films. You could watch the TV show Andor. Cassian Andor is the male lead in Rogue One (he’s secondary in that film, as it has a female lead). It’s an EXCELLENT show. It takes place before Rogue One. Just know it has no force characters, no Jedi, etc. it’s just like a regular tv show that takes place in the Empire. You could watch The Mandalorian. This is the one with “Baby Yoda.” It’s great. It takes place after Return of the Jedi. A Mandalorian is the race that Jango Fett and Boba Fett’s armor come from. This show has all new characters but does have the force, unlike Andor. You could watch The Book of Boba Fett. It takes place at the same time as The Mandalorian. It has only been received as “ok.” Finally, many people will tell you to watch The Clone Wars cartoon. This shows the period between Episodes II and III. A lot of peope love it. I tried 3 times to get into it and unfortunately for me, failed. It’s more for children at first but does eventually really fill out Anakin and Obi’s character. Have fun. Bottom line, I would do Rogue One>Obi Wan>Mandalorian>Andor. Then 7, 8 and 9 knowing they are trash but just to complete.
I think people are misunderstanding when Palpatine says he wants peace. he just wants peace of mind, knowing all his enemies were destroyed. his only regret not being present at every one of their deaths
the only star wars after this that i loved is Rogue One. everything else i feel isn't good enough to make it past being just a poor fanboy's tale. all non-lucas star wars is a fanboys tale in some way though.
You can't watch Ahsoka or the Mandalorian without seeing all of Rebels to know who the characters are, and you probably need to watch season 7 of the Clone Wars, if not all of it. IJS
DO NOT LISTEN TO HATERS. You are not some fanboy with hurt feelings. Please feel free to watch ALL the movies. Rogue One. Solo. Episodes VII, VIII and IX. Keep your own council on what YOUR taste are. Not theirs. Like what you like. You don't need to justify your taste. I don't know your channel but feel welcome to watch the series as well. Obi-Wan Kenobi. Andor. Mandalorian. Book of Boba Fett. Ahsoka. Fans will encourage you to watch animated shows but that will take a commitment to do. But keep in mind, this is Star Wars so the timeline with jump around.
