Prequels have a strong story hidden in the clunky meme dialogue, but I honestly believed that 4 movies would be actually better to tell the story, because there wasn't enough build up, which was later provided by Clone Wars. Anakin went quickly to killing children but honestly he already done that in Ep. 2 and he had other war crimes under his belt as well. He showed he was capable of great violence under pressure and his visions were correct, so he knew he was running out of time with Padme in advanced stages of pregnancy. He failed to save his mother, because he didn't do enough, and then he didn't save Padme because he did too much.

Palpatine is considered one of the most powerful Sith in Star Wars history, his telepathic and Force abilities are so profound that he not only probed Anakin's mind and implanted visions of Padme's death, but also blocked the Jedi, particularly Mace Windu and Yoda of all Jedi, from sensing him and his connection to the Dark Side.

He didn't play Palpatine until RoTJ in the early 80s. Empire Strikes Back's Palptine was made when Chimpanzee eyes were superimposed into the actress's darkened eye sockets during post-production, you could clearly see the eyes moving around inside the 'face' which looked pretty fake to me at the time. Then when he did the special editions in the late 90's, Lucas inserted McDiarmid into ESB. He did not appear at all in ANH, just referenced by Tarkin.

I didn't actually interpret it that way as Anakin always seemed to have premonitions anyway. Qui Gonn even said Anakin can see things before they happen, that's why as a kid he appears to have fast reflexes and could pod race, his premonitions just seems like an even more advanced version of this trait as he got older. I just assumed Palpatine had the ability to sense and perceive Anakin's worried thoughts, and took advantage of such fears and confusion.

I know many fans like that idea, but it is utterly unnecessary. It is well-known that a fear of losing their partner, due to pregnancy related death, is a fairly common experience among young men who are about to become father for the first time. Anakin doesn't need Palpatine to "put that idea into his head using the force", it would have been quite natural for him to have this worry anyway. Similarly, Palpatine knowing this could be Anakin's vulnerability and exploiting it didn't require force-manipulation either ... I think we can trust the Chancellor being quite good at exploiting basic psychology.

The most heartbreaking thing about Anakin's fall is that he did everything almost that he was supposed to do. He went to Grandmaster Yoda about his premonitions. He went to Windu as soon as he discovered Palpatine was a Sith Lord. It was, ironically, the Jedi straying from their own beliefs (asking Anakin to spy, Windu attempting to execute Palpatine) that led Anakin down the dark path. Palpatine was just a master manipulator.

Yes, the Battle of Coruscant was set up to install more fear that the Republic was insufficient and to give the Chancellor further emergency powers. •Anakin has had 3-4 years of battlefield experience. He received that scar on the field of battle and has become the Republic's best Jedi General. •The clones are made from the DNA of Jango Fett. Keep in mind Boba is also technically a clone. •Revenge of the Sith had a budget of $113,000,000 and earned $868,400,000 at the Box Office. •General Grievous is a Kaleesh cyborg. He purposely enhanced himself with cybernetics so that he could become the ultimate Jedi killer. •Not exactly. You have to make your own. •Experience and raw power. •Dooku was only ever the placeholder for Anakin. Now that Dooku is dead, the time has come for Palpatine to tempt Anakin to the Dark Side and make him his new apprentice: Darth Vader. •Grievous collects the lightsabers of all the Jedi he has killed in battle. It's a long list. •Villain fashion? •Grievous is fine. He's a cyborg and a general who knows when the time comes to flee to fight another day. •They're Jedi and Anakin is a master in the noble art of the crash-landing. •Plot Armor-it's the first few minutes of the film. •Yes, though they don't know yet she's carrying twins. •That's the purpose of this film more than the others in the Prequels; to explain Anakin's fall to the Dark Side and the rise of the Empire. •Step 1-Anakin starts to have visions similar to the ones of his mother's death, but this time, they are of Padme dying in childbirth. •The Jedi have learned the hard way not to trust in visions, as the interpretations and choices taken to prevent them have led many Jedi to the Dark Side. As the Greek tragedies and Master Oogway teach us, one often meets their destiny on the roads taken to avoid it. •Anakin's distrust of the Jedi Council has been building up until now, when they ask him to spy on a mentor and friend. •I believe it's Mon Calamari Opera. •Darth Plagueis the Wise was the master of Darth Sidious and he did know how to use the Force to preserve life. Palpatine is also a master manipulator. •While there are similarities, the principle difference is that the Jedi seek to live harmoniously with the Force, while the Sith seek to dominate the Force in their quest for more power. •No and that was a picture of George of the Jungle. •Not too long, but in some regards, this is the last time Obi-Wan will see Anakin, for the next time they see each other in person, it will be Obi-Wan vs. Vader. •That is a varactyl. •Many Jedi have tried and failed. But Obi-Wan is no ordinary Jedi. He is one of the best swordsmen and duelists in the Jedi Order. He has also dueled Grievous a lot throughout the Clone Wars. •A wimp with 4-arms and lightsabers who is the most feared opponent of the Jedi in this conflict. But yes, Grievous is also well known for fleeing the battlefield when he senses he's losing. •Anakin has confided in Palpatine for years. He knows everything. •Well Palpatine just all but confessed it and if you watch the HISHE video of this film, he points out he's been dropping hints for 2.5 films now. •So like Adam in Paradise Lost, Anakin falls because of love. As Yoda said, fear is the pathway to the Dark Side. Palpatine has been playing on Anakin's fears of losing Padme to tempt him.

Grievous IS a Kaleesh warlord, but became a cyborg after being grievously (ha, pun) wounded in a shuttle crash. Palpatine wasn't lying, Darth Plageuis really did have the power to save people from death. Besides Palpatine himself, he was considered to be one of the most powerful Sith ever. He also created Anakin using the force. That's why Shmi Skywalker was pregnant with Anakin. He meditated with the dark side to try and create an ultimate Sith Warrior. But the Force turned against him and instead created the Chosen One and his future bloodline through Anakin. Edit Also the nightmares Anakin had about Padme were because Palpatine was sending it to him to make him easier to corrupt.

It's not a theory. That is precisely what he did. He was also the one to put the visions of Anakins mother in his head as well. Throughout the entire prequel trilogy Anakin is the only Jedi receiving visions anymore and they're all from Palpatine. This is because Palpatine and his master clouded the Force with the Dark Side near the end of episode 1, cutting the Jedi off from Force visions which would have warned them of their impending doom.

one thing that I particularly liked in the novel was the description of the duel on the ship during the rescue. it doesn't really come across in the film, unfortunately, but Anakin and Obi-Wan actually had a specific and effective strategy to take on Dooku: they both started the fight utilizing styles of lightsaber combat that were NOT their preferred styles, KNOWING that Dooku would use that to tailor his strategy. Once the fight got going, the jedi switched back to the styles they were MOST effective with (Djem So for Anakin, and Soresu for Obi-Wan) and were able to wear Dooku down.....
