Star Wars is coming to The Sims 4... but why? 

The problem for me is not if you like Star Wars or not. The problem is: how does this pack improve and/or add to the previous game content and depth of the game? It doesn’t. It feels like they are just meeting obligations.

EA: you can’t control your pets - that’s unrealistic. also EA: GO TO SPACE AND CRACK OPEN A COLD ONE WITH THE ALIEN BOYS

Why did EA even do surveys if they weren't going to listen to what the people wanted?! smh! I'm so sad about it right now...

The fact that they released this despite a literal POLL of the community saying please anything BUT STAR WARS really irks my nerves. I will NOT be buying the star wars pack. The only way it will end up in my game is if they add it for free themselves.

I love Star Wars but I hate this pack. My interest in Star Wars has literally no crossover with my interest in The Sims.

It looks great in the cinematic trailer, but gameplay is going to feel entirely different. Can't wait to see Darth Vader randomly assigned as a bartender somewhere.

Look I like Star Wars, however, this is another example of EA blatantly ignoring what it's community is asking for in an attempt to siphon more money out of people. There is very little crossover between fans of the Sims and fans of Star Wars and they've gone out of their way to announce this at Gamescom where all the "real" gamers go and frame the Sims in a way that's appealing for an audience that it doesn't have. It's depressing. Another example of EA selling to the highest bidder and ignoring its regular consumers and fan base in the process

Like, I wouldn't mind this train wreck if the game wasn't lacking so many things that we've been asking for years now. Literally: improved skintones, deeper gameplay, improved babies, more family/generations gameplay, a bazillion of glitches, cars, open neighborhoods, deeper personalities and social gameplay, and just more content like vacation worlds, hobbies, more animals/farms and like millions of other ideas and things people have been requesting for so long. But they go with this. Like, the game is lacking so much and everyone is asking for so many other things and yet they keep ignoring us and give us this. You shouldn't be playing around with weird spin offs in such a niche specific area when the game is so lacking and has been for so long and people have been asking for it for so long. I'm done.

All the gamechangers going “this looks fun” then never playing it again

Nobody’s talking about how this seems like a big cash grab. We already had aliens from BUYING Get to Work and Star Wars costumes in CAS, why are they making us pay for this space related stuff again? That’s the real issue here, whether you like Star Wars or not this could have been a stuff pack and patch update (a new secret world you could travel to in the rocketship). The time and money for this could have gone into making those skin tones..

This pack feels so forced. EA probably got a huge payout from Disney to make this- a glorified advertisement for their amusement park. NO ONE asked for a Stars pack. At all. That wasn't even a whisper in the running for most requested by the community. How can they continue to ignore us and justify it? Why give us a game pack that will be viable for one play through and then discarded? Why do we have to be a fan of x franchise in order to enjoy a gamepack for a LIFE SIMULATION game. Non- fans of Star Wars have literally been robbed of a game pack. Thanks, EA.

The reason why this annoys me is because there are so many Star Wars games, that are well made and fun and entertaining. Why would I choose to play a Sims based Star Wars game when I could play something that's actually fun and made to be a Star Wars game. The Sims isn't built to be Star Wars because it's a life simulation game, not a sci fi action adventure game

“Copy and paste to spread awareness" DO NOT buy this pack. We need to show EA that we are not going to spend money on them if they treat us like this, completely ignoring us and pushing the important things like race equality, good game play, REAL babies, etc into the corner. We need to show EA that we are not their money bags for them to milk all they like. If you actually want this pack, go ahead but if you don't don't just buy it for the sake of it.

I think this would have gone over a lot better if they had coined it as a Disney/Starwars Amusement Park vacation pack or something. Because based of the trailer, I highly doubt your sims will be able to live in the new world. The map looks very limited. Of course it's possible they only showed off one neighborhood. Actually I'd be totally down if they came up with a Theme park vacation pack. Each neighborhood a different "land" with a hotel for our sims to stay out. But this.....I think it's a no for me.

I have a question: Why are we sticking around? EA isn't listening. Babies are boring, teens are boring, elders are boring. The high chairs don't work. People of any color have such bland skin swatches, and even furniture have unmatched wood swatches. We need so much more if this game is going to be what it has been advertised as. We have asked time and time again for these additions, yet they're not providing. When they do give us what we ask for, they take years to add in these basic features that we should have had in the first place. I thought the first story pack, Strangerville, was okay. It added good customizing items and good furniture items, like the laptop. It wasn't very replayable, but the military feature was something I would have immediately bought the pack for. It was just okay. A pack like this? It's so sad. This is so pathetic. We are begging for better features that everybody could use regularly and they give us a Star Wars pack. Why? Because they know both Star Wars and The Sims are their cash cows. They love milking them both. They're lazy. This huge corporation isn't going to spend time that they clearly have making The Sims 4 a better product for the community. They aren't going to make this unrelated DLC a separate Sims game for a Star Wars story. They're combining them and making nobody happy.

This LOOKS - aesthetically - pretty. However, the concept is ENTIRELY unappealing to me. I don’t wanna see Don Lothario with a lightsaber, but I can see how some people would - though I think the people who would WANT a Star Wars x Sims 4 are actually less than you’d think, considering Star Wars IS so popular. I would have rather seen a Star Wars game, instead of a collab between Sims & Star Wars

Living in a “bubble of positivity” is definitely not always a good thing. Us criticizing the decision to do this pack should not be viewed as “negative” when the alleged “target audience” DID NOT ask for this! The community ranked this the LEAST wanted content to be added to their games and here we are, getting something that majority is against. Criticism is what helps make people/a company better when constructive, which I feel, is rightfully needed. With that being said, I’m trying to see the positive and be nice about it, even as someone who does not care for the Star Wars franchise at ALL, but this really is annoying that they would do this and probably not expect backlash. PS: No, everyone does not love Star Wars. It’s popular, sure, but definitely not something everyone loves.

This is honestly insulting at this point. We all know the only reason they did this is because EA owns both wanted to cash on both... no one, not a single person in the community, thinks this was necessary or will integrate well into the game. The "quest driven" packs are not re-playable, and that's even if that's what they were aiming with this one. We want *gameplay*, we want *generations*, we want to be *listened to*. I have no hopes for this franchise any more... and it breaks my heart since I played all the way back from TS1. Even as a Star Wars fan, this disappoints me.

just a lukewarm reminder: The sims team HAS TO REPORT TO EA. They probably didn't really have much of a say in having to make this pack. that being said EA also has to approve concepts for the game and probably also sets restrictions on what can and cannot be made into expansions. So in short don't direct all of you shade at the Gurus. they do know what we want they just have a lot of red tape to work around. That being said: GIVE US SKIN TONES AND BABIES!

Honestly Kayla, I don't think a lot of people will like this. I think for the people who really love starwars, they don't want to play a game in the format of the sims (no action just completing a list of tasks). And for the people who love the sims, this seems to be adding content that is unusable apart from this very specific context, at least strangerville had some cool furniture which you could use elsewhere. I don't think the sims game itself is really conducive with a storyline.

This is disgusting. Someone, please tell me how Star Wars fits into the Sims in any way, shape, or form. We want farms. We want family gameplay. We want what the Sims is supposed to be... life simulation. If it were Star Wars we wanted... we'd be playing one of the MANY games ALREADY OUT THERE and NOT the Sims!! I've been playing the Sims for twenty years. I find that the majority of the players are adults like yourself and myself, and of all genders. I also think this pack, is an insult to the Sims community. We ask for more skin tones, disabilities, cars, school pack, babies not being furniture, more family values. I would like for them to add a country life pack with horses,cows,chickens,sheep, and pigs add events such as barrel racing, cattle drive, show jumping, dressage, bronc riding etc... I would absolutely love a pack like that I live on a farm myself and would appreciate it so much but I know they would never add most of those features and just imagine how different the vet office would be and what they would have to add lmao😂

I think Sims/EA just slapped us across the face with this stupid pack. If simmers were smart we absolutely wouldn't buy it and send them a strong message BUT I don't think anyone will do that. As long as you keep buying and promoting these packs that they're shoving onto us then they'll keep doing it. So you're going to have to decide what you want to do. Keep buying this crap and just take it or not give them a dime for it and show them we've had enough of them not listening to us. There's no reason why they haven't added more skins, fixed issues, or added in the other stuff they've had us vote for that people actually wanted. You mentioned EA partnering with Disney or something - I would've much preferred an amusement park game pack than star wars - perhaps a sim version of Disney called 'Simsney' where families can go, buy souvenirs, go on rides, etc. At least that would give children something else they can do, and then my sim family can finally go on vacation that isn't jungle or camping

It looks like they took an already existing Star Wars game, and just changed it to the Sims graphics. It feels like it has nothing to do with the rest of the Sims universe. PLEASE BOYCOTT, PEOPLE Edit: A lot of people don’t seem to understand what’s so wrong with the newer packs that we should boycott, so here’s a list of things that we should have and don’t, either because EA doesn’t actually care about minorities, or because they care more about money: 1. skin tones (dark and extremely pale alike, there’s no vitiligo) 2. hair types (bad and small amount of wavy options and BARELY any curly/coily hair) 3.hair colors (missing proper ginger, light brown, dirty blonde, black that’s actually black, don’t even get me started on multi-colored hair or dyed hair) 4. disabilities??? (wheelchairs, blindness, deafness, muteness, dwarfism maybe?) Like forget the babies. I get that some people like to play with babies, and other could’t give less of a shit. (Still, you have to remember this is a life simulation game, and many many many people in real life have and/or want babies.) However, *the lack of representation is glaring at you right in the face, but all of you seem to be ok with that because YOU all get to be represented*

Honestly this game is an embarrassment at this point. I play on console and it’s useless without mods. Sims has been my favorite game since I was 8 years old, 20 years later the franchise is a broken, cash grabbing mess. I don’t want to come off as overly negative but I hope EA knows how disappointed day 1 fans are. I should not have to depend on community created mods to enjoy a game that costs almost $1,000 full price. It’s borderline robbery, I am disgusted and I think everyone should let EA know how badly they are f’ing this up.

It’s a walking advertisement for Disney world. Batuu is the same world as the theme park section. It is even laid out the exact same way as the theme park.

I am literally wearing a Star Wars shirt right now and I'm still SO disappointed with this trailer. Batuu, the planet we are (probably) going to visit in this pack, doesn't exist in the movies and was created with the sole purpose of being the set for the new Star Wars area on Disney, so this pack is literally just a (presumably) very expensive advertisement for a freaking theme park! I know there are probably some people who are really excited for this pack but I just think the gameplay won't be very good (this trailer didn't show us NOTHING) and it doesn't even feel like star wars for me. I honestly would have preferred if they had just given us a giant Darth Vader plush for our sims kids something.

This is the first Sims 4 pack that is a 100% non-buy for me. In every single other pack (except My First Pet Stuff lol) there's SOMETHING that interests me enough for me to get it, but as someone who hasn't seen Star Wars and probably will never see Star Wars because I don't like that genre, this feels kind of unnecessarily alienating?? I can already tell that there's gonna be a massive chunk of Sims 4 players that just don't buy this. If you're excited for this pack then I'm actually genuinely happy for you and I hope you have fun :)
