My biggest mistake was not using double blade through the story, I overlooked one of the most powerful stances for me just because it wasn’t great in the first game, but it’s excels at a lot of stuff, the first upgrade being a single target swing instead of multi target is great, the next one being a full combo for it makes it insanely good (especially when you find out you can mix the single target and multi target attacks in the combo), and the lunge forward breaks an opponents stamina almost instantly as well as closing the distance, the lunge up and slam down is great as well, I end up playing more aggressively with it than any other just because it allows for you to mess up, I’m currently going through grandmaster now and it’s making fights so much easier
I’m so glad someone else is understanding the beauty of the double bladed stance. I’ve practically soloed the entire story (not finished yet) with that stance. I even reset my points, unlocked the whole stance tree and put everything else into force powers. Learning how to master the double blade is an absolute joy. I still don’t fully utilize all of its abilities, but there’s nothing quite like mowing down a group instantly by either reflecting multiple blaster shots with a single button press or getting into your endless hurricane attack combo. Pair it with wrenching pull and a whole group will start dropping instantly. I can’t be more in love with the play style.
@@Raiden_lemke use the lunge forward and watch enemies stamina or health melt, if they still have some stamina left either use the single target swing by holding attack or hold force attack and use force attack again when in the air to get yourself in the air and slam into the floor
This is the first of these kinds of videos I've seen about this game that actually showed me things I hadn't discovered on my own. Love that. That being said, you can dash a LOT faster if you hit the dash input immediately after the jump input. It basically will look like you're just ground dashing but it cuts a lot of the downtime you have from the vertical in your jump.
Fun fact. The point blank shot can also be used after parrying a blaster shot. Blaster charges can also be done while doing basically anything else. Attacking, guarding... It's basically free if you need it.
I prefer the reflective shot blaster charge because it helps in clearing smaller enemies out of the way. I also use point blank as a finisher for a lot of enemies because it's fun to watch them go flying as they die.
@@snugglecity3500 Cal auto targets enemies. It normally hits an enemy then hits a second. When it misses, it bounces off the wall towards the nearest enemy. There are a few enemies such as bx battle droids that can dodge your blaster fire.
I remembered in the first game using force pull on the missiles would cause them to explode in your face, so ready to try it now that I know they changed it
Just a fun fact, it looks like they slightly lowered the xp gain from that one monster at the dam. Before patch and after I've noticed the xp being lower regardless of how I take it down. Just spreading the word. On Xbox Series X was where I was playing.
You sure? I’m still getting 1 skill point every 5 or six runs. If you simply force push off map it’s less but if you hit him once with saber then force push it looks like about the same as before.
@Daytona Blue yup I recorded it. Started with zero xp and it took 7 times to run him thru. One or two hits don't matter and then push him off and it was exactly 7. I'm a little ocd about stuff like this and pre patch it was 5. So just a little extra to do it but no biggies, but they definitely did something.
@@just.a.simplejoe ok, it felt about the same since I didn’t do it recently before patching. It seems not a super nerf and still a viable method to farm xp.
You can actually get the bounty hunter girl’s ( green girl in pyloons saloon )blaster from completing all the bounties which I found quite enjoyable you also get to meet a famous bounty Hunter doing so in the cut scene
One thing I've noticed on here that many people have been saying is if you have the appropriate robot hacking ability, you can use that chip that BD-1 can shoot to remote hack droids while not in combat.
My head cannon for photo mode exploration is Cal using the force to sense what’s around him but he cant see to far because he just isn’t good enough to scout something miles ahead
The Purity and Fortitude perks together basically turn the game into DCM's Heaven and Hell mode or what you could call "Realistic mode". You one shot almost everything (with your Lightsaber) which can make boss battles hilarious as you trigger the segment cutscenes immediately however everything one shots you as well (almost) this includes blaster bolts from any enemy and rockets and unlockable attacks one shot, making large groups of anything extremely dangerous. "Fun-strating" is the word I'd use here. Skilled players will likely have a blast while less skilled will find it frustrating and if you're in the middle like I am, it's a bit of both....like trying to fight two or three bounty hunters at once pretty much guarantees the player is getting OHK'd unless you're extremely good at dodging. (Which I am not)
From what I've tried, regular blaster bolts takes 95% of your HP even if fully upgraded, while melee can OHK, I died from the charging chicken more times than I would like to admit and flame troopers are the bane of my existence
@@i.r.raharjo8706 it was clunky wording, that's why I included the (almost) just Infront of it but yeah. Bounty hunters are the worst for me, especially when there's more than one of them. They have an annoying tendency to combine every annoying element from every enemy. Multiple blaster shots, unblockable blaster shots, flamethrowers , melee and grenade spams...died about 10 times to the first one that introduces you to Caij...small island, no cover and you have to fly in from a bird so the second you land he's on you. Got about a half a second reaction on a 50/50 chance of him either firing multiple shots or an unblockable one...that sucked.
Use the smashers for spawn of oggbao fight stand close to edge and force pull them and block them, they fall right in there. Also I usually activate the door with a few droids. On the best runs he was down to 1/4 of health roughly. On the worst runs he was half health lol. Def a solid and easy way to get the win.
I didn't use the BD1-visor scan too. For some reason it's more satisfying for me to fight something I don't know and scan it afterwards like "okay BD ..now tell me.. what the f*ck was that thing?"
A mistake I made was being too persistent getting into an area and unconsciously glitch into it, when it's an area that's locked due to a certain skill and then being stuck on the other side, having to restart the game...
You air dash faster the lower you are to the ground because of the time you take to land. You need to instantly dash after jumping to gain more speed. You're too slow.
Is it better to complete the main story first then head back to the planets to 100% then do a NG+? So far I’ve been exploring as I’m doing the main story, I’m 19 hours in to the game and only just left Jeddah to explore the next bit.
For me the most impactful change I've made is switching up the controller layout. Remapping Attack and Block to LT/RT and Pull/Push to LB/RB and Special to X has made a huge difference. Focus on Y. Jump and Evade are the same. Companion RT/Ascension LB. Feel free to try it out and let me know if you like the layout.
@@enflam3 if you remap the Y button at all then stuff like shooting the blaster just doesn’t work on the new button it’s been mapped to. Stuff like that, BDs Koboh grinder, and other abilities just don’t work unless you reset the mapping.
I find this game a lot of fun playing on story mode. It's just I don't like playing games where enemies are sponges, and I love having a fun time and not dealing with any headaches. The only way I'm playing the hardest difficulty is if there were trophies tied to it. But I'm playing the entire game and new game+ on story as well
I’m playing on master, and for me grandmaster is hard to the point of tedium, and anything lower is too easy for me. I just like a little bit of challenge. But I definitely understand what your saying.
@Jack Shapiro yeah like I don't need to prove anything by playing on the hardest difficulty. But there's some people who like and enjoy the challenge. I do when playing souls games like elden ring or sekiro. Since there's no difficulty, you can change in those games. But games like this I usually just put on a story to enjoy the game. If it did have difficulty trophies like resident evil 4 remake, then I'd do it, but since not, I will enjoy the easiest experience, and I do find more joy out of it.
All games with a combat system like this should increase difficulty the way Ghosts of Tsushima did. Instead of having gigantic damage sponge NPCs just make the fighting more unforgiving. One shot kills etc
Mounted combat. You can fire and attack from the backs of Nekkos and if you're running at speed and timing your swings correctly, the AI...doesn't really know how to handle it, mostly due to your ability to strike and move out of range of most melee attacks before they have a change to target you. It's nothing game breaking or super helpful, just something fun I didn't know you could do at first. You can also skip the mount animations for the Spamals and Nekkos by jumping or landing on their backs rather than approaching them on foot.
One of the bounty hunter fights I had ended with them falling off a cliff, and resulted in me not being able to scan the person for the tactical guide. Guess I have to replay the whole game to get the platinum.
I really need to stop spoiling this for myself 😂 I don't plan on getting it till there's a huge sale on it making it affordable hopefully by then I'll forget everything
Hot take: hogwarts was underwhelming imo. I couldn’t keep going after 30 hours of playing it. Mind you I was already getting bored of it like 5 hours in but I forced myself to keep playing In hopes it got better. Aesthetically the game looks gorgeous but when it comes to enemy types, combat, side quests and exploring. It’s all very repetitive to me. Now Jedi survivor is actually a very fun exploration game. Combat isn’t too repetitive and there’s lot of side content that’s actually immersive.
@@XxRDZ15xX it was still the best Harry Potter game released to date. As a game yeah it was alright but as a harry Potter game it was out fucking standing lol
@@XxRDZ15xX agreed. I have 33 hours played on Hogwarts Legacy. I’m almost at 40 hours with Jedi Survivor and I finished the story and I’m still not bored. Just exploring now.
I'm all the way on chapter 6. Chading down the big buy on the moon looking for compass but I'm gonna stop now since i got all abilities and really check out all the rumors and really explore kobo. I haven't seen this uppercut yet.
I’ve used the crossguard from the moment it was available. Its very strong if u know how to parry every attack. The double stanced is definitely better defence wise, the special ability is literally just for defence
Great video thank you! Very good advice for when I get a bit further. I can't play often because of time, work, and a toddler. This will help me cut some time.
Shit you can grab the walker rockets? I just played Fallen Order and was used to force pushing them back. I got hit all the time in this game. That or my timing is ass
Your timing is ass, im only saying that cause mines was ass, fractionally late on everything so i went to grandmaster for an hour and now i feel like a true jedi back on master 😂
I 100% this game so fun. I wander if there will be dlc for this game, because the skill tree has some spaces left which hint at additional skills can be slotted. If there is going to be dlc then I might wait to do game+ till it’s close to release.
@@jackshapiro4668 I don't know, when you complete the game it tells you about all the stuff you unlocked for new game +, I just played the game for 4 days straight so I need a break before Ng+
No NEW skills to unlock. All skill points are refunded to be spent again. All skill trees are unlocked from the beginning. All stances are unlocked from the beginning. You keep all the cosmetics, collectibles, and databanks you unlocked in the previous playthrough. You get 2 new lightsaber color crystals. You get 3 new perks. That's it.
Does anyone know what the white painted symbols on the walls are that are scattered all over? One looks like a square cross hair, and a few others are like fingerpainted looking around the game, I haven't found any info about them anywhere. 😑
Force pull the two hammer raiders from the ledge above. Bait them to fall into the pit to soften it up. Dodge all red attacks by dashing over the frog. Attack ONLY after parrying the 2 blockable bites. Use your blaster from a distance. Take it slowly and do not get too greedy.
Hide between the treasure chest and the wall. The chest will block a lot of its attacks. I had to come out of my hiding place every once in a while but hiding there let me do damage while staying relatively safe. I still got hit by some of his unlockable attacks. And iirc, when I was hiding there he never tried to tongue me.
The map it still foggy in this game hope EA fixes this structure to make the map less foggy and see-through so that you know wear your going to get to the main mission as for me I've had trouble getting to the main mission because of the foggy map
@@n0body550 I am talking about scan from afar, where you pull up BD's view, and you can see type of enemies and etc, thought that was only for placing beacons and etc.. it is the FIRST mistake listed in this video
@@n0body550 It makes you setup a waypoint or whatever, but does it make you scan anything? Don't actually remember, I still don't use it, but the part about being able to do it went WOOOOSH over my head. Good ole ADD.
Thats weird, console games being optimised for console? Imagine ANY PC game was optimised for consoles, how much money would be made from that availability of certain games.
The biggest mistake holding people back is complaing when you got a full game at release and not half a game sold as DLC or the same game with a few new moves like GOD OF WAR 5
God of war Ragnarok was great. Of course it’s the same game. It’s a sequel. Also there aren’t just a few new moves, there are around 20 new moves in the game, and that doesn’t even include an entirely new weapon. The funny thing is is that survivor did the EXACT same thing as Ragnarok did with it’s sequel. Expand the combat, make it more open world, make the rewards better, and add new moves. And if you’re saying that Jedi survivor and fallen order aren’t similar, then I don’t know what your talking about. Their basic foundations are still the same because they’re in the same series. So why are you complaining about Ragnarok? I really don’t understand. Because you like what survivor did, but then don’t like Ragnarok even though it did the exact same thing.
@@jackshapiro4668 it’s the same game down armors and all stop it 😂 god of war wasnt trash but to act as if it was a giant leap forward and not really an extra dlc which was god of war 5 and I unlocked the same moves again what Your comment itself is picking and choosing which is why there are bad reviews on Star Wars currently lol when was the last time we got a full game for 70$
@@3345karl tell me about it. I’m really upset about it as I was looking forward to this game. The frame drops are unplayable for me. Wish I bought a physical copy and I would have requested a refund by now. I may contact Microsoft support and explain and request a refund that way.
@@cdgeeezy Everyone has such a hate boner for EA, when they haven’t sold dlc since 2015 i believe, one of the first to stop, probably the most games with highest ratings, and do just about the same as any other company, yet are one of three companies that get shafter cause stupid people.
Why? The game is phenomenal other than the technical difficulties some people have been having on pc, I've just completed my first playthough and only had 1 crash and a handful of moments where the frame rates dropped for about 3-5seconds
I'm on PC and the worst I saw was massive frame drop in the Foggy area only, which quickly fixed itself by dropping the graphics one stage and disappeared with the patch, and one singular time while fighting Spawn and Oggdo. Besides that, I did crash 3 times from fast travelling and there was the occasional graphics bug when landing on Koboh or entering Pyloon's, but it ran smoothly over 99% of the time.
