Would you want to see more of these small reviews? Update regarding some blurred parts of this video. I showed a boss fight that was very early on in the game but many of you have noted that it's something you wish you hadn't known going into the game, so I have blurred those parts retroactively. I'd also recommend avoiding the comment section on this video to avoid mention of it. For those saying rather rude things about me over this, I can assure you, there are so many surprises I left out in this review, and you can even see plenty parts of the video where I blur the bottom left corner because I wanted to keep the lightsaber stances spoiler free. I wouldn't want to intentionally ruin parts of this game for you all. Apologies for the audio, but I had to record this video while on vacation, and the acoustics of our hotel room weren't the best. Thanks for understanding! Check below for updates regarding performance. UPDATE: The day zero patch has improved the game's stability significantly. Some areas still struggle but not nearly as they once did, so rest assured the game runs much better now, and presentation no longer consistently gets in the way of gameplay.
I’d personally like more small scale video’s and reviews. I don’t want them to replace full on essays, but I definitely would like more of this. I feel I can trust essay makers more than game journalists, since we know your preferences in games more than some guy from IGN we don’t know anything about. So hearing that a game is good from someone with similar tastes to me means much more than hearing it from a guy I don’t know at all. Keep up the great work!
Definitely want to see more videos like this, I enjoy your longer essays a lot but this being available this quickly (on embargo day I mean) and being so brief made it so easy to fit into a small bit of free time I had rather than having to wait until the end of the day. I'm really excited for this one because I loved the first one in much the same way you do, I don't really care for Star Wars that much but I enjoyed the graphics, exploration and characters in Fallen Order a lot. I'll definitely pick this up on PS5 based on your review, no time to play everything right now I'm still working on the three big remakes just released and Tears of the Kingdom is in 2 weeks, oh vey!
I like both types of videos seeing ad ypu pit so much effort into making each one. I'm still campaigning for you to review bugsnax though. But keep up the amazing work
Hey TBA - this is Noshir (the actor for Bode Akuna). I loved checking out your review! It’s clear you’re a Star Wars fan, but you go out of your way to be as objective as possible, and I thought you did it really well. Of course I’m glad you liked Jedi:Survivor, but I’ll make sure to head your way when I’m curious about a game I’m not in! 😁 May the Force be with you!
Thank you so much for the kind words! You’ve done some truly great work here and you should be so proud of the games reception. Much love, and may the force be with you too! ✌️
Why pay full price when You can just wait for it to be added to a subscription that can cost only a small percent of the full price😅patiance is key in everything
@@Dctctx its just a key to the game, there are no data saved on the disc anyway anymore,it dosen't make any sense, just buy the box art with an empty case at that point lmao
While I kinda knew the Ninth Sister would return, cuz we didn't see a body, I would have preferred if you hadn't shown her in the footage for this game. Something to remember for next time I guess.
@@RemyMa88 yeah, but if our man is being honest with this only being the first 3 hours of footage, its not a very big deal. Like, any other boss would do, I've already forgotten the others from this video, but I remember her, cuz she was in the last game. I plan on hopping in, on the dot, at launch, anyway, so its fine.
@@paritoshd Just because it's in the first 3 hours doesn't mean it's not a spoiler. Spoiler for The Last of Part 2, but Joel dies in the first 3 hours, and that is undoubtedly a spoiler
@@carsondubrucq1251 yeah, i agree, that's why I said its annoying, but not a major deal cuz that's maybe 5% of the experience that is affected. 3 hours is not a lot, and after that point it will all be new.
If you guys don’t wanna get spoiled for boss fights I recommend having this on in the background while your doing something else as at least two big boss fights were spoiled in this video. Very informative video though!
I hope this isn’t spoiling but the cross guard stance is actually amazing. There is a lot more you can do with it to make it useful on harder difficulties same with the blaster stance. Blaster stance is my personal favorite being extremely useful at picking of smaller enemies or explosions parrying with one of its other abilities. I feel like the stances are more preference rather than one is better than the other. Other than dual stance I feel like that one is just better at everything. But that’s just based on my experience
I find it interesting that you felt that survivor was easier than fallen order. I replayed fallen order a couple weeks before launch on grand master difficulty. Then I played survivor this weekend on grand master difficulty. I didn't have too much trouble with fallen order, but survivor kicked my ass. But man was it fun
I love this review. I’m so excited for this game and I like how you are honest but are so excited to share. I also appreciate recommending seeing other reviews. I adored Fallen Order and all of the RU-vid people I keep tabs on have loved this game. So so stoked to play Friday, I even got work off! Thanks for a stellar review
Not a fan of souls games but do like Star Wars so the first game was good but still had too much souls stuff I personally don’t enjoy. But to hear that this one is a bit more forgiving is gonna make me give this one a shot
Installing the game right now! Should be finished by the time the game is available on release day! Will one of the 2 new stances happen to be Makashi? I’d hope so!
Continuing the spirit of only talking about things that are mentioned in the video, I will only say that the 2 other stances have been talked about in the past, and you can find out about them from google. They have been very secretive with the last stance, and we have no footage of it yet. And no, the stances are more like styles of lightsabers.
If I had to guess, maybe one of them is a lightsaber pike. The other might be a slower, heavier attacking style with a crossguard lightsaber, almost more like a greatsword.
As someone who avoided all topics star wars related, with all the people batching about spoilers. I just bought and downloaded the deluxe edition, all I know is that there is a jedi from 200 years prior that pours his anger into his kaiber crystal and made an orange lightsaber. I'm about to launch the game since it just got done downloading. But I loved fallen order, I know I'll love this one.
Excited? I'm hyped! Fallen Order was the Star Wars game with an intriguing Jedi protag we needed in years since Kyle Katarn's absence! And to see Open Critic give high praises, I'm glad I'm this is becoming great!
Any time I collected a tracker puck and Cal wound say "Caje would want to see this" it messes with me because Cage is my name haha, never thought i'd have that feeling in any game, ever, since my name is so unique
Great review, the only thing i would add without spoilers is that as good as the game is, it falls into the same rut as fallen order when it comes to exploration. For those who haven’t played yet, i strongly recommend playing through the storyline first before exploring as there are many passive abilities and tech needed to even access a majority of the content. I would have very much preferred a warning when going into an area i wasn’t ready for instead of wasting hours wondering if it wasn’t working because of story progression or this was another puzzle i have to solve.
Irs so good man, so good. Sad about red fall but hopeful for updates. Then tears of the kingdom, then final fantasy 16, then diablo 4, then Starfield, then maybeee stalker 2.
Loving the game so far I’m starting the final chapter and it’s getting better! The cere part fighting Vader my goodness so much fun! It’s def finishing with a bang. I just wish it wasn’t so heavy with the platforming but solid game. 8.5/10 for me. Way better than hogwarts.
I must admit I'm seriously enjoying it. I'm also not a huge Star Wars fan (beyond the 3 original movies) but I got the game free with a new cpu etc. Thought I'd load it up and yeah, a big surprise. Half tempted to look at Fallen Order (which I skipped) once done.
the game looks so fucking good, especially the city level. I am not much of a star wars fan but i enjoyed fallen order alot and this looks like a perfect follow up, cant wait to play this
Being able to mind control bigger enemies is just OP. Btw did you actually beat spawn of oogdo on hardest difficulty? Is so you are a true legend. I think he is or was bugged I read, anyway fighting two later on did oddly seem easier
I still want to play this game, i enjoyed Fallen Order. Of course The Force Unleashed cannot be dethroned as my favorite but with very little Disney era projects actually being attractive to me its nice to get something that feels like an old Star Wars story. But i enjoyed the Poncho so rip i guess. Sucks that i still cant afford a PS5.
It might not be the easiest but can't you lend a PS5 along with the game so you can experience it, believe me it's worth it i 100% new game+ and got the platinum, I've played this game for 166 hours
@@nashzahm I meant from a video rental club i don't know how popular they are but i have one in my city from which i rented a PS5 along with star wars squadrons before i got the PS5
ill be excited when they release either a new Star wars bounty Hunter game, Or a game like Jedi Academy with choices between light or dark side of the force. If they could take everything good about Jedi Academy and polish it a bit with better mocap/animation and what not it would be my perfect star wars game. They don't even have to make it an academy game, It could just have the same style of gameplay. Im just getting sick of the whole Dodge roll combat system it's worn out it's welcome for me.
im one of the few who didnt enjoy fallen order (the gameplay and metroidvania style backtracking) so nice to know i dont have to rush with this one... looks great for those who enjoyed the last game though
Somehow I managed to avoid all spoilers for the game 🤣 but I know what you mean… as soon as a new game comes out people post spoilers all over RU-vid within the first week
Love the game but my only complaint it’s a lot of puzzles and the checkpoints in between the story are so far from each other so if you die you’ll have to redo everything again which is very annoying
I was on the fence until this review and now i want to buy it. Thanks Aqua my bank hates you 🤣 but jokes aside excellent review keep up the good work boss !
I enjoyed this game a lot and will definitely platnium it, but honestly the story was the most irritating part of the whole experience. It was a lot of going back and forth from two different planets and felt like the writers wanted to do two different things and chose to do both weakly instead of one strongly. I won't go into too much detail since this is a spolier free review and all, but I loved the gameplay not so much the story even though I do love all the characters. Very mixed feelings on this one.
You’re comment about skipping it is not right lol not trying to hate on you bro but I didn’t like the first game all that much it was like a 7/10 for me the story I liked but the level design drove me crazy and the traversal was super annoying in that game but with survivor the environments are so much better I’m actually interested in exploring and the traversal feels way better. I almost skipped this one but I bought it because I was just hungry to play a new game and I’m so glad I bought this
Man it's been what like a week since release and day 1 patch and on my ps5 in performance mode using a 120hz LG AI thinq 4k TV that automatically upscales frame rates and has instant game response settings, no matter how much I mess around with system settings and TV settings, I can't get this thing to stay even in the 40 frames per second range. The stutters mostly affect cutscenes and gameplay is thankfully solid and responsive even in frame dips, but I would argue that cutscenes in a graphically amazing game like this is even worse than stuttery gameplay. I want to see the facial expressions, motion cap, and tiny details and I want to be fully immersed through each scene and when it takes me out and suspends my belief, I get pissed off. Fallen order never really did that to me at all. And waiting 3 to 5 full seconds for the game to load the inside of a shop while I stand idle outside waiting is also mildly infuriating. I really love this series I truly do, so much... But this shit is unacceptable. I shouldn't have to wait 7 months for a game I paid $80 for on release hour to run acceptably. I'm not even mad at respawn they are an amazing team inside of EA and with this series they've shown absolute love and respect for the story they're creating and while I don't really like star wars, this game series has officially made me nearly obsessed with the universe. It's just too bad that greed and apathy from the higher ups had to ruin everything once again. I'm pissed off and want to return it and wait until they actually patch it to a reasonable level, but probably can't on ps5. I'm about 2 hours into the story and 10 hours into exploring and it's amazing but it's not ready and I'm sick of seeing this shit out needs to stop. No other entertainment industry would ever release something this unfinished so why do we allow them to do it to our games? It needs to stop.
Yes. I’m a very casual Star Wars fan in that my enjoyment of the series starts and ends with cool laser swords and Darth Vader and I’ve enjoyed the games extensively.
Didn't vibe with the first one so i won't be checking this one out, I just wanted to say gg for getting a early code for a review!! Also the audio sounds fine don't worry.
Nah. Crossguard is amazing man. Beat the game on Grandmaster and essentually used it on all bosses. Its high damage, high defense and charged deflects are insanely useful against encounters and bosses. Other than the performance issues (especially for us on PC), this is a strong contender for GOTY. Kiddie cringe Hogwarts Legacy doesn't even come close to this level of quality. It honestly lived up to, and surpassed, all the hype. Just minor nitpicks here and there.
