These are some interesting picks! I've come to really appreciate B1 droids as well, as giving them heavy weapons and some surges can make them have some shine in ranged attacks. For worst, I'm surprised droidekas weren't picked, as at least the snail tank has a clear role with some customization to it. I've played droidekas many times wanting them to be good, but I can't seem to figure out what their role should be. Even with the shields they fall apart way too fast and only have comlinks for upgrades.
I honestly find them just ok enough to not be the worst. I usually use them as an offensive push, or to draw fire. They do both ok enough to be useful in casual games, and after the point drop maybe competitive as well
I'd use AT-RT over Landspeeder in Legion and Battlefront 2. Although Landspeeder does looks cool😎 Also Swoop Bikes isn't BAD it's just not as good as every other thing Mercs have ima.
I will say that the snail tank is not a slow vehicle. I haven’t played it, but I have played the GAV, and they both have Open Transport, have the same base and the same speed. I believe they are just as fast as the AT-ST, if I remember correctly. Personally I think the snail tank is better than you think it is, but I’ve really only played against it once, and that one was carrying B2s that wrecked me.
The Speed 1 thing tricks everyone into thinking that it's slow. It's base size more than makes up for it. Trust me, it's speed is not a problem. But yes, carrying B2's is it's best use, but it works really well.@@Wargamerofalltrades
The Persuader with Defensive Protocols and carting a B2 HAT around is a game changing terror combo. Can also be used to deliver Magna or BX units. It out-performs the AAT in every way except as a wide-body area denial piece.
Separatist worst might be commando droids in my opinion. Their AI is debilitating and it’s too difficult to get them orders. The persuader is not as good as the AAT but still fine at least. Also Kallus is good in double bounty, as some comments have mentioned
Sleeping on Kallus appears to be my bane lol, Main reason the tank went here instead of Commando Droids is because I've seen the commando droids get work done. The tank has not done well when I've or others I've been against have brought it. Plus commando droid strike teams can still be useful
I get the reasons at least behind most of these choices… except for the Kallus pick for empire. Especially for how cheap he is. He has become the go to commander for many high level bounty Hunter lists and his 2 pip is one of the best in the game (and there are a lot of good 2 pips).
What is your opinion on the "scale" of legion growing this is aimed at not just the size of the largest units in the game, but also how the game is balanced at larger sizes, i know i would be interested in seeing vehicles like the ATTE, though i am skeptical that big boys like the ATAT can be brought in and work properly for anything except a glorfied equivalent of walker assault in the reboot battlefront 1
I think Legion's current scale does not lend to the AtAt or at AT-TE at all, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it for a larger point-based game mode, but then it would need a whole new balance. I have not played legion above 800 points yet, so I can't really say how it is balanced above the normal scale
Nah bruh the at-rt is the best anti armor republic has especially with impact three, you’re almost guaranteed 3 crits with an aim. Its fast, can climb and can outmaneuver most tanks along with surging to hit for fire support. Give em linked targeting array and then shoot and dodge and they stay alive almost the whole game. Running 2-3 is a nuisance for the opponent to deal with
There is a template. A long time ago yoda and r2 (and I guess Ewoks would have fallen into this) things were based on the model. Now you are correct, there is a template
I don't agree. Kallus is quite good. I played (I'm playing) him with 2 bounty hunters. That gives me/him a lot possibilities: contingencies, cunning, he is not so bad in melee and he has 3 range price (lethal). And he can deny opponents pips 1 or in turn 6 yoda's pip 1. Try to mix him with Vader. You will have 2 turns where you will go 1st.
Shadow Collective is my main faction as well, and I still think the Mando's and Black Sun are pretty tied for best unit they have, the recent point drop is making me lean to Mando more
How about your Star Wars Legion wishlist? Characters and vehicles from Disney Canon and Legends that would rock on the tabletop? Balancing and rules adjustments? Things that Legions needs to learn from other wargames, and vice versa?
@@joshuapicaro8726 It just is a term that helps my brain categorize things better, when you play 6 wargames it helps to make the terms to keep track of things
The problem I have with Legion is its VERY infantry heavy game. And almost all the infantry look the same. Look at the Republic for example. Its dudes in white armor with a few small changes. Take a few steps back and looks a a Legion game and you can hardly tell the difference in the units. Now take a step back on a Warhammer game and you can EASILY tell the difference. There are not enough vehicles or vastly different designed units.
