Corrections: Suppression only kicks into panic at double your courage value, and you no longer move towards the board edge. Anakin's 2 pip was changed to give him defend 1 and an extra order “A unit that has a weapon with the Cumbersome keyword cannot perform a move prior to performing an attack using that weapon during the same activation unless the move is a pivot.“ They added ‘prior’ to the text so while you can’t move and shoot, you can shoot and then move.
I personally also would say Padmes main use isn’t her secret mission command card it’s her adding her quick thinking tokens with exemplar and surge to hit on fire support the dodge is especially good with anakin giving him and extra djem so and her gun is really only good to ensure she can stay at range 3 for firesupport attacks.
@@cyrusrhoad78yea padme can also run "Seize the Iniciative" with this she can also push a order to a different unit. Especially good on turns where you dont play her own command cards if you want to set up order control for fire supports
I tried checking errate on everything but missed that one. Also my opinion on Padme was probably to harsh, just in isolation she didn't seem the best to take except for Secret Mission, but I'm happy she has good synergy with Anakin I missed
@@Wargamerofalltrades padme+anakin is a very very good combo. Even with all the nerfs she recieved I still believe that one is worth to bring. Along with couple of clones and barcs and you litterly got a top tier performing list. Became 2nd in a big European tournament not long ago
Just a bit of feedback. I would like you to, after going throught each unit breakdown, give us your take on each unit. For example I'd love to know your take on Phase 1 Vs Phase 2 Troopers.
That's not a bad idea, but I didn't think it fit into my idea for this video. I am approaching these as a "this is everything that everything can do" type of video to encourage new players, it's definitely my plan to get more into competitive parts of it and what units after I release all of these breakdowns.
By far the most fun army to paint and are highly customizable. If you’re into kitbashing, this is the army for you. My whole republic army is the 327th star corps which were known to be more independent than rank and file so most of my clones have different designs on the helmets along with different helmets like the antennas, visors, etc. Dont let the command cards and the characters hold you back from fielding your favorite clone legion. I run captain rex as commander bly and one of my buddies has a commander gree for his 41st elite. As long as you have the cards and the painted model no one will care if you’re using captain rex as another clone commander
Just as a reminder, your explanation regarding suppression isn't entirely accurate. You have to have Suppression equal to 2x your courage value to panic (which you may have meant) but now when units panic they no longer move towards the board edge.
I think you completely missed out on a lot of Obiwan's strengths. His 2-pip gives him plenty of dodges, and he is able to spend dodges during Guardian, so with 6 dodges he can negate 1 hit on each of the 6 units around him. You do not have to guardian 3 hits at once, but if you do he is able to surge to defend on the other 2 Guardianed attacks. Likewise, because his 1 pip lets him take a standby, if he is in a good melee situation he can get 2 hits off in one turn, and gives him potentially multiple aims to succeed with his lackluster saber. Overall, I think he does have a specialty-keeping units alive in the early game until you're able to really punch back, as opposed to having no specialty. Also, he had some hidden buffs with the recent rules change that made him surprisingly decent (though Anakin and Yoda are sadly still better)
I don't think he's terrible but he's really just not the best. He is still good, and In these shorter form unit summaries, some strengths can be missed. I do plan on eventually making more decent breakdowns on the factions and focus specifically on all commanders, good builds etc. I will definitely keep this saved as a reference for when I return to Obi-Wan
@@Wargamerofalltrades They should have done what they did with Yoda, having two miniature designs in one box. PS thanks for making these videos, just picked up my first box of minis a few days ago and you have been very helpful.
@@HappyNoob17YT Glad you have found some use out of these video's, they are a little out of date but I have to wait until next year to update them due to the odd rule release
Armor can be very annoying to deal with, I am assuming you are running Galactic Republic, you can do fire support with the phase 1 RPS6 to give some good anti armor choices, and the Saber Tank can also be build to be more anti armor as well. AT-RT Anti armor gun is also a cheaper option as it comes in the 501st legion pack, so even though it isn't the best it can get work done. With fire support, remember that you can combine multiple of these options together to just wipe something off the board
@@Wargamerofalltrades not anymore. I copied the new rule book text which states “A unit that has a weapon with the Cumbersome keyword cannot perform a move prior to performing an attack using that weapon during the same activation unless the move is a pivot.“ They added ‘prior’ to the text so while you can’t move and shoot, you can shoot then move.
