I find it a bit funny that it took Hasbro *years* to make an actual Darksaber toy, and now not only do we have this one, we have the standard one from around the time Mando Season 2 came out, *and* a more premium "prop" Force FX version (as well as the GE Legacy saber one but not counting it as its not from Hasbro).

The Darksaber crystal is confirmed to be black!!! This is the first time we see what the Darksaber’s Crystal looks like! I was convinced it could look crystal was white (because of the glow) with black energy inside, but no. Black crystal! I bet everyone who got the Obsidian crystal from Galaxy’s Edge is gonna pretend it’s the Darksaber crystal now

I kind of like the weaker light with the darksaber It looks like the idea is more to illuminate the different sections rather than light up the entire sword, while keeping the blade itself "dark".

My reason why the dark blade’s lighting didn’t go all the way up to the sharp tip is because (sorry if you already know it): 1: there’s only one LED light on the top darksaber core. Unlike the multi ones like the build your own lightsaber from Disney 2: the blade’s gun metal tint is a bit dark (why wouldn’t it be?), so (relating to my first reason) not a lot of lightning can reflect in there if there’s only one LED in there

I saw it at Walmart tonight, and it was the last Dark Saber. They had one Dark Saber and two Anakin lightsabers. So I put it on my cart and looked up review videos on my RU-vid app and found your video. To me it was worth the $20. I tested it out at home. Its pretty bright to me. Especially in the dark. Overall, I enjoyed your review video.

Got it for Christmas. It was a rad for me. I consider this to be a travel Darksaber, one that suits my needs since I move from place to place quite a bit. I light the saber up in complete darkness and none of my neighbors can hear all the noise from my apartment.

To me they have to go back in the hilt to be considered extendable, that one just stays like a foot protruding out of the hilt. At that point I’d rather just have the louder, brighter, better looking one for like 5 dollars more. If it went in the hilt all the way and the blade was a couple inches longer I’d agree with you

8:40 that’s odd! My dark saber from the lightsaber forge series has the black details oriented correctly like the original toy product without the white bit being exposed on the bottom near the hilt’s end cap. There might’ve been a production mishap on yours

He put the cover on upside down. That's why the white is showing. If you look at the box it shows the white part going up.

You’re correct! I was wondering if anyone would point it out. His has a mishap where the white ring is on the bottom, whereas it should be black instead. The bottom side of the cover has the black lines going horizontally, for anyone wondering

The light is made like that for a small similar to the movies It does slightly get dark on the original but not as dark as that it’s still super bright but it does get darker

Since the Darksaber Blade is so much shorter, it qualifies as a Kodachi. In such a case, having two Darksabers with customized grips would be the best option. That way, you can attack, parry, and block better. If you use just one Darksaber... 1. You need to rely on being faster than opponent on the draw 2. Get in close and strike before they can react 3. Have a longer reach than your opponent to compensate for the blade's shortness 4. Wait for your opponent to strike first, block them quick then strike when they are open.

So, a little bit on why the blade would be shorter in comparison to the other lightsabers is to keep it more accurate to the real thing (with how the darksaber was shorter then the typical lightsaber) although I don't have an explanation on why the light for the saber isn't as bright (maybe you just didn't get a good model?)

Hmm...just a thought. If you mask off the parts of the blade you want to glow (everything but lightning bolt areas and edge), then paint the rest with white primer (to reflect light on the inside), then a thick coat of black and a few clear coats for protection, it may look better? I'm NOT am expert in this kinda thing, and if someone has better ideas feel free to add them, but it could possibly be an improvement.

I got that saver but realised after looking at the photos on the box that the very top of the blade was shorter than it should be, and the one you had also had that problem. I think it’s because they put the notch that stops the blade down too far. This means that the tip moves around more than it should. If anyone knows how to fix this then please let me know

Given that there’s distribution shortages everywhere I haven’t managed to find any of these here in England. This Darksaber looks cool though and accurate to The Clone Wars and now The Mandolorian. It’s sad because some of the lightsabers fell over!

I bought this, and I actually took out the batteries. On top of the weak light system. The sound effects are wildly inconsistent. You can do the same motion twice. And one would give you the swing sound. And the other the sound of a strike. Plus if you hold the saber straight down, the sound effects box goes haywire and acts like your swinging it like crazy. In my opinion, not worth the price
