STAR WARS Opening Night at the San Jose IMAX Theater!

On December 17, 2015 San Jose's IMAX Dome Theater hosted opening night of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The San Jose theater was 1 of 15 in the world to present a true 70mm film print of Star Wars.
This video goes behind the scenes to document the process of splicing the IMAX film reels together and how the theater prepared for the epicness that was opening night.

Great job, Rudd. Literally, my only suggestions are to justify the text for the credit scroll at the beginning and break it into three paragraphs (with a long ellipsis at the end). This made me miss the Tech Museum and all the Star Wars craziness from two years ago.

+Michael Amora Yes, the entire movie was converted to 70mm IMAX film but only some of the movie was actually shot in IMAX. This is possible.

Yeah, i know, but the dome screen and projector is shaped in a strange way. To watch a feature film is not appropriate. Didn't the image look weird? Like a fish-eye almost :P

The image is stretched somewhat but it's not overwhelming. If you sit in the right spot it's very immersive.

Not a true Imax film just blown up from the 35mm print to 70mm Imax not like film's like Interstellar Dunkirk which were most of it shot with Imax cameras

High Orbit Media, does this IMAX theater plays THX trailers? Because Star Wars normally plays the THX logo, before the 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm Ltd logo
